Helaku isnt actualy my dog, he was a 1 year old german shepherd dog/wolf hybrid at the shelter i volunteer for...at first he seemed like a shy unfriendly dog, he would stay in the back of his kennel and slowly come up if you had treats, but when i took him out in the yard he became another dog, happy, loving and friendly he wasnt very hyper he just walked around the yard but he was more interested in people than the sights, first he rubbed on me like acat would then he tried to crawl up in my lap but he only got half way and just layed there with his tongue hanging out.We became buddys quickly after that he always came up in the kennels and greeted me with a wagging tail and kisses. He had been there for awhile but people passed him up for the wolf in him, he had none of the wolf personality he loved strangers, a random person could walk up and grab his ears and he would give kisses, he wasnt alert and he didnt have to keep moving, and he made friends with everyone. It makes me sad to think people would pass him up just because he was 1/4 wolf. He would of been an amazing companion but i could not have another dog were i lived.... he was at the shelter for a month before they decided to put him down. He was looked over by everyone else, noone would take the time to get to know him, they didnt promote him or anything. The thing that angers me is that they had many sick dogs, some termally ill, one was infected with incureable mange and he was in pain no matter what.... rather than putting an animal out of its misery to go run free over rainbow bridge they put down a healthy happy boy... a boy they just wouldnt give a chance to shine
Bye boy ill miss you, even though i didnt get to say bye, you'll still have a special place in my heart.
