I agree RJM. The last time I was in Barbados, I had Flying Fish for breakfast every day! It was so yummy and I don't think I've had it since.

Flying fish! I think that would be hard to come by in our neck of the woods.

I'm with you on the Surf & Turf, I see some in the near future. 8)

Last year in May, I was so crazy for Lobster, I ordered "several" and they were shipped live. They were huge, and I was not adequately equipped. Next time, when and if there is, I will have them steamed first.

Nothing beats a good Surf 'n' Turf with Bearnaise sauce...mmmMMMmmm

I used to love Bearnaise sauce! But it's been totally ruined for me. Mike's family eats it with seemingly every steak or roast beef meal. There is almost never gravy! I miss gravy (my family are the gravy type...can you tell!?)

I don't know what Bearnaise sauce is. I've heard of it but I don't know if I've ever had it.

I don't think I've ever had bernaise sauce either Tracy. I love hollandaise sauce though!

Deb, I remember your lobster party, I was trying to figure out where you lived and how to get there!

It's a french sauce made with egg and herbs and delicious if made from scratch. I have made it once, long before I had a clue about cooking. I don't care for any jarred preparation of it, and therefore only have it when offered at a restaurant. It's very rich, but oh my, is it ever good!!! In my opinion, it is not dissimilar to Hollandaise. It's sort of tart and creamy.

I bet Phyrie knows how to make it, and probably does it well.

Lynners, I agree that there is a time and place for Bernaise as well as gravy!
