Missing you Mags

Postby taima on Sun Jul 11, 2010 8:34 am

On Sept.29/09, we had to have our beloved 13 + 3mos old golden Labrador, Maggie, put to sleep. It's been 8 1/2 months and it still feels like it happened yesterday.....sorry, I'm crying to much to continue... Mag's Mom (Taima)

Taima, after reading about how well you take care of your friend's dog, and then realizing you had posted in here, I had to offer you my condolences. I'm sure having the other dog in your care brought back wonderful, and perhaps painful, memories of Mags.

She is peaceful now, and waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you 'Oliver & Henry's' Mum (O&H are really cute)! It's really been a rough time for my husband and I (dealing with the loss of Mags), she left a huge gap in our lives when she crossed over. I've got tears in my eyes just typing this.....caring for our neighbors dog (whose name is Taima...which means 'the last one' in Cree). His owners looked up the name and liked it. Anyway, dear Taima has really helped us to heal our broken hearts. He lets us cuddle all 100 lbs of him, and wags his tail whenever he sees us (he even has a girly bark when he gets excited). It's fun to take care of him when his owners are away, and we want to keep him healthy and happy. Thanks for your thoughtful words.....dog lovers are great friends!

Taima, I don't think you ever really get over the loss of a beloved dog. I have many who are still near and dear to my heart and when some little thing reminds me of one of them, I shed a tear.
I can see from your posts and the concern that you showed for the dog in your care, that you are truly a dog lover, my kind of people and you are one of the few that I would trust my furbabies with.

Thank you for your kind words. Our dogs really are our 'babies', they trust us, love us and never judge us. They know who loves them and who would care for them. They give back so much more than they ask from us humans, don't they. Give your furbabies a big cuddle from me!

Dear Buffy's Mom, Mindy......I am so very sorry to hear of your recent loss of Buffy. Your pain is so fresh and I know how you feel. For the first couple of weeks after Mags passed, I felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach...I could hardly catch my breath. Never in a million years did I know what deep loss and heartache I would feel. The 'only' consulation is that we know they're in a place of peace and love, where they can play without pain or discomfort. I'm so glad you've got Smokey and Bandit to comfort you and that you're adopting a rescue puppy. Buffy will be happy for you too. I'm emailing you lots of hugs....God Bless you too. Mag's Mom....(back to the kleenex box)

Mag's mom, I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Maggie. Having lost two of my wonderful dogs in the last eight months, I know what you're going through right now. The tears will come at unexpected times, but after a while the hurt in your heart isn't as sharp, and the memories will make you smile rather than cry.
