Truman was one of nine pups with parents who were both champion bulldogs. With such a large litter, not all of the pups could be sold so the owner offered Truman to my husband for adoption. Being a Georgia native, he willingly accepted. Truman is a sweet and loving dog who loves to cuddle and chew on his mother's car. When happy, his posterior wiggles so much that he often loses control of where he is going and will crash into walls. *See more pictures in Truman's feature: August 29th, 2007*

We adopted Sadie from our local humane society after someone decided to leave her and her brother in a box with the trash. She is an affectionate pup who loves to chew on her older brother, Truman, and loves to help out in the yard by digging holes. *See more pictures in Sadie's feature: September 15th, 2007*

Dallas is actually my parents' dog, but I have come to claim him as mine as well. A friend of my mother's purchased him, but soon after realized that she could not properly care for the dog and gave him to my mother. Dallas is an extremely intelligent dog, although an extremely energetic and hyper one. He lives to play frisbee and loves to go for walks and car rides. He also likes for you to sit in front of him so that he can push his ball (with his nose) back and forth with you. Although Dallas and Sadie love to play together, unfortunately he and Truman do not get along and therefore does not get to visit as often. He is a very protective yet affectionate dog who loves companionship.

My husband spotted Maggie in a ditch on the side of the road (I don't know how he saw her!) so we promptly pulled over and she happily came to us. She was covered in fleas, hadn't eaten in a while, and seemed to have mange. The vets estimated that she was about 2 months old. My mother came over to see her and fell in love, so she is now my parents' dog and Dallas's playmate. She a tough dog (we say it is because she was raised in the streets!) who will eat anything and everything she can (even concrete and metal!). She likes to hide under chairs and benches and snip at Dallas's legs. Maggie's favorite thing to do though (other than roll around in grass until she is completely covered) is to crawl into your lap and take a nap (while sneaking in a few bites on you!).

We adopted Samson from the Jasper County Humane Society after I saw him and simply couldn't pass up a shepherd. (Sam's mother was a pure bred German Shepherd and also a seeing eye dog, but we are unsure of what his father was) The day before we adopted him, my husband and I happened to watch I am Legend and couldn't get the name Sam off of our minds. Sam is a rambunctious little fellow, as are all GSDs, but is full of love. He loves to play and wrestle with his sister Sadie and to cuddle and sleep with his brother Truman. He has also become a frisbee fanatic like his uncle Dallas. Sam used to speak what sounded like Vietnamese but as he has gotten older he has seemed to have forgotten it, although he continues to make all sorts of high pitched noises while playing with his toys.
