Dante - a gift of love and life to me as his adoptive father. It was said that he was named Dante as like his literary counterpart Dante Alighieri from the Divine Comedy, he was always trying to get out of purgatory. Although he has betrayed his namesake as he tries his best to be a good dog. Together we drove across Canada in the middle of winter. A fine travelling companion. Never complained, never judged, never farted and the moment he stepped out of the truck he was living for the moment. He still has bounds of energy for playing ball with a true retriever's skill and desire to please bringing the ball back each and every time. Dante and I look forward to long walks in different parks and woods everyday. We live blissfully in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, part of the Halifax Regional Municipality and quite probably an urban heaven and haven for many happy well adjusted dogs and their loyal owners. And Dante ...well without any doubt, he is my love and my life. The photo album is my past year with my boy. The photo at the start of the archive against the black volcanic rock was just an hour after he was gifted to me out west in BC.
