Frank

Frank

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

Frank was my best friend... Simple as that. He was such a loyal dog and i miss him greatly. He knew it when i was having a bad day, he would cheer me up.. If i was sick Frank was right at my side keeping me warm and comfortable. He hung on as long as he could. I always told him "Frankie, it's OK you can let go bud..." But he knew he had a job to do. And that was to love and protect our family. He really was a special dog and will never be forgotten. We love you forever, bud! When Frank was still alive he loved to go on run's and walks and swimming. When my Niece's dog Fritz was first arrived Frank was like his shadow fallowing him around to make sure he was safe :) Fritz sadly died before Frank--(You can check out Fritz' story and my niece's other dogs... Ellafarmgurl is her user name) And after that Frank really wasn't ever the same. I told him the night he died "Frank, we will miss you. But you get to be with your best pall, Fritz up in doggie heaven." *It didn't have the 1999 on here so i put 2000 instead*

Watcher

Watcher

Watcher is my male GSD. He is Frank's son and what i have left physically of Frank. He loves the same things his dad did. Swimming, running, and walks. He has his weird things about him, too. He has this white blanket he was born on that he caries around in his mouth and sleeps with. His best friend is Ticket my female GSD. They spend every second of every day together. They will sit by the door when they're inside at night and wait for "daddy" which is my husband who was deployed in 2009-(read my profile for more info.) They love him just as much as i do. (: They keep me comforted just like Frank would when he was still around. Watcher is very protective of me-- but not aggressive at all. I never have to worry about any one breaking in or anything because i have my dogs (:

Ticket

Ticket

*WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT TICKET IS NOW EXPECTING 5 CUTE LITTLE GSD PUPS IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS!* Ticket is my baby girl(: When she was a puppy, her and Watcher would cling to me and i knew we had to keep them(: Also when she was a puppy she had a longer scraggier coat, she was the only puppy with that in the litter and everyone asked for her. Her coat has thinned out a bit, but still has bit of a longer coat than Watcher. She loves to go on hikes with me and just be at my side 24/7! She loves her stuffed giraffe my husband sent her... And her best friend is Watcher, my male GSD. They wander off together but never too far! They are one of a kind pair and i know i can count on them to keep me safe. I don't know what i would do without my baby Ticket girl!

Gibson *adopted*

Gibson *adopted*

Gibson is our foster dog this year. He is an approximately 1 year old pure bred Australian Shepherd and is a WILD marked Blue Merle, with Blue and Brown Marbled eyes! I personally think he is a really pretty dog and his eyes are really cool (sorta looks cross eyed). He has "Kennel Cough" which is basically bronchitis in dogs, is full of worms and is about 20 pounds underweight, he went to the vet the other morning and is going under operation for the kennel cough. His paws are HUGE!!! Even though he has obviously had a rough start to life he is a very sweet and loving boy. He is constantly looking for affection and doesn't believe that he is a big dog. He is a little mouthy, but again he is only about a year old and has NO training what so ever. He is also not house trained, but so far (with a regular potty break) we haven't had a single accident (fingers crossed it stays that way). He is a young dog, and needs lots of exercise to stay fit and healthy. He was a bit underweight when we took him into foster care but we've been feeding him special dog food to gain back that weight. He would do good in a family with older kids (that would take him for walks &bike rides & runs) and is fit to be in a home with other animals. *Gibs is a bit camera shy, but we can't blame him after his first year in home of neglect and abuse... I WILL NOT BE ADDING ANYMORE PICTURES OF GIBSON ON HERE except for the pictures that are already posted... I do not want to put him under any stress since we already have gotten him this far down the road to full recovery*

Swirl

Swirl

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

When I was in college, I thought I wanted and was ready for a dog. I had grown up with dogs and decided I just couldn't not have a dog around anymore. So I bought the cutest Australian Shepherd puppy in the WORLD. She was very little, and had beautiful black and white swirl markings all over her. It was fun having a puppy and I thought "Well, this is easy."- I thought wrong. I don't know how I could have been so stupid as to get a dog when I was living in a tiny 1 bedroom apt and had a full work schedule and school. That little puppy grew and grew some more. She was this out of control dog that I had no time for. So, When my parents offered to take Swirl on their farm during the school year I thought once again "They'll fall in love and keep her."- Again, I was wrong. My dad called me 2 weeks later saying they couldn't handle Swirl anymore. She had run away 3 times and was not trained what so ever. I drove down to get my puppy and brought her home. I hired a young lady that came and took Swirl out for walks to the park and when I was gone for weekends she would keep Swirl at her place. I had Swirl for a year. Summer came and I wanted to enjoy it without a dog in the way. So I left for 2 weeks for a trip to Florida, left Swirl behind. When I was gone... Swirl had run away during a storm. The dog sitter said she got out the door and had tries to reach me. Honestly I didn't know my dog that well I was never the one taking care of her. The sitter was in tears and so was I. The one thing I knew about Swirl was her fear of storms. 4 days later I got a call from the dog sitter saying Swirl showed up at her door that morning and asked if I wanted to come get her. I was planning on taking Swirl to the shelter when we would find her again. I asked if she wanted her and she said she couldn't have a dog because she was going to college- smart move. I went and got Swirl and brought her home. She laid down in front of the door and whined and whined. I looked hard at her... I wanted her but I was not fit to take care of a dog. I brought Swirl to the vet and asked them to keep her for a few days until I could work something out. When I went back to get her they said someone had come in and asked to adopt her I called up the lady and she said she was just getting married and had a dog that looked like Swirl when she was a child. We planned to meet I wasn't going to let just anyone take my puppy, even though I barely knew her. It was all worked out Swirl was in her new home. They sent me up dates and pictures of Swirl. a few years later, When I was out of college one day I went to the animal shelter to just look at dogs.... There was Swirl with her 7 baby puppies. The lady had surrendered her after she had found out Swirl was having puppies. I couldn't let her stay in that shelter who knew where she would end up next. My parents old dog had died 2 months before this so I thought this would be good for them. They fostered Swirl and her puppies until the pups where ready to go to their new homes. They ended up keeping Swirl and she lived a bout 4 more years at the farm until one day she was to weak to do anything, she couldn't eat, walk, even drinking water was hard. She just laid there... They took her to hte vet and she had cancer and it was to late to treat. My mom was in tears for days and my dad kept saying "She was my best friend" Swirl had to be put down a week later, but her story is an amzing one, She was a strong dog, and always ready for the next adventure life would take her on. My parents still foster dogs who have less of a chnce of being adopted and ended up gettting one of Swirl's puppies back- Imagine this - HE was from a college student, too. :P

Moose

Moose

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

Moose was my husbands dog that he had when I met him. And after that I never saw him without "Mr. Moose" at his side. He had gotten him from a shelter that rescued him and his litter mates from a puppy mill. The two met and loved each other instantly. When my husband asked me to marry him, I was a little hesitant and was brave enough to tell him what had happened to Swirl, the dog I had in college. I told him I didn't really want any dogs (despite how sweet moose was) Because I feared what might happen to him. He told me not to worry, that wouldn't happen- And it didn't. About 3 weeks later, He calls me and said that Moose has cancer and to get over to the vet asap. I raced over there going way over the speed limit. I had to be there for him. Moose was now getting on in years, he was about 9 years old at the time. As I was driving i was hoping and praying that nothing would happen before I got there. I had never and to this day never saw my husband so upset in his life. The vet told us Moose would probably only live a few more months, or we could just put him out of his pain right there. I told my husband that we could wait, and see what happens. To my surprise, he said no. I don't want him to suffer any more. He already went through that once in his life, I don't want him to live it again. We put Moose down that day. As Moose got sleepy and tired, he never took his loving eyes off my husband. He tells me to this day, that was the hardest thing i have had to do in my life.
