Erin was a rescue at six months of age. At that time, she had already had three families. She had two separate elderly female owners who passed away before she was four months old! Then she had a family that adopted her to breed and abused her, breaking her leg and giving her internal injuries. We rescued her while she was recovering from her multiple surgeries because the abuser didn't want to pay the vet bills. She is the best dog I have ever had! She is not a typical JRT, she is very laid back. She is the most loving dog ever and I feel like she rescued me rather than the other way around. She loves her brothers, Toby a Boxer and Morgan an Airedale. I cannot image my life without this little minx.

We picked out Toby from a huge group of puppies, primarily because he was the biggest and he had a white lightening bolt on the back of his neck! We had no idea he would be this big (120 lbs.) and what a baby. Like so many other Boxers, he's a talker. When he wants to get in bed with us, he comes to my side and keeps saying "Mama" until I get up and let him get in. He hates the cold and he hates to sleep alone. He's a very sensitive dog and he hates it when one of the terriers kills something. He will sit or stand guard over the poor thing, howling like he has a broken heart until one of come to rescue it. If we don't come right away, he comes to get us. We live in a rural area, so as you might imagine, he has a broken heart on a regular basis. He is a clown and we just couldn't love him more.

In Loving MemoryAt fourteen, Morgan is our "old guy." He's getting pretty feeble now, but he still loves a good hunt! He's got our little JRT to dig tunnels with and he waits (patiently) while she digs and flips the poor little animal out. He chases it and now days, catches it half the time. We won't have him much longer - but he's been a good and faithful companion. Update: Morgan passed away on 12-27-2010 - RIP sweet baby.
