Add to FriendsIvy was a Black and Tan rescue. She was found jammed into a crate with the puppies she had just given birth to. Those living quarters were so crowded some of the pups died of suffocation. She and her puppies were moved to Pennsylvania to be fostered. We were going to adopt one of the puppies, but decided not to. We were looking for a puppy and did not look twice at Ivy, who was very haggard looking, and had a large recent but healing scar on her back. After the puppies all were adopted her foster mom had to travel for an extended period, and we volunteered to keep her for a little bit. She had no manners, and has a tendency to bolt and set off on a wild coon chase. We did not think we could keep her for very long, she just didn't fit in. That thought lasted about a day, and she is still with us, and one of the nicest dogs to ever cross our threshold.
View ProfilePenelope was rescued, she was deemed not profitable enough by the puppy mill that brought her in to the world, due to her questionable knees and her heart murmur, and slated to be put to sleep. She is now a healthy happy pup, and has gotten the Labradors and the Coonhound in line.
