In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

Annabel ("Annie") is now a 9 year-old German Shepherd, but wasn't she a cute baby? She's solid black (for those who don't know, German Shepherds come in several solid colors), and she's a big girl - currently 115 lbs! Some of her favorite things are belly rubs, Frosty Paws, and riding in the car. She loves pestering her little brother Arthur, and she obeys all the rules in the house, like a good girl. She's very happy & just wants to know that we love her. She is very shy of people, and with her size & loud bark, is very scary! But at home, with her "pack", she is the sweetest angel you can imagine. She is amazingly agile for such a large dog. She can out-smart & out-maneuver her brother, Arthur, and her natural herding ability is incredible. She can quickly & easily tip him over on his back and always keep out of his reach when they are playing outside. Annie has exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, and has to have very expensive medicine in her food to keep her healthy & happy. This is a common disease in GS dogs. She is also breathtakingly beautiful. Can you tell what a proud mommy I am?? She's my best friend, and the best girl in the whole entire world, and I love her more than I can say. Kisses from momma!!

*** UPDATE *** Sadly, this past May 2009, our beloved Arthur developed an anaplastic sarcoma in his jaw, and the vets told us that we only had a few months with him. In July my husband & I had to make the terrible decision to end his suffering. He went to sleep gently, in my arms. He was only five years old, and we are heartbroken. I still cry every day. Rest in peace, my beloved little boy. Someday mommy will meet you again, and I will never let you out of my arms. This is the original profile for Arthur: Arthur is our 5 year-old German Shepherd boy. He has oily seborrhea, barks like a hound (instead of a GS), is not very bright, and we love him to death! He weighs 108 lbs, and is cute as a button. I call him my "Little Man". He's afraid of a lot of things: paper bags, hair brushes, wires, vacuum cleaners, and feathers!! But guess what? Arthur is NOT afraid of the 400 lbs black bears that we get in our yard! He wants to chase them! Arthr has a ball obsession, he loves anything from my plate, and of course, LOVES barking at the bears! He has the most kissable nose I've ever seen, and he's very silly. He's a glutton, too...When I feed him peanut butter on a spoon, he tries to eat the spoon, as well! He's always surprised that I pull the spoon away! When he's laying down, he slaps the floor with his paw until we come over to pet him. Very demanding! He is so loved & fussed over that it's kind of ridiculous. But we wouldn't have it any other way!!
