Mia

Mia is a rat terrier/chihuahua mix. She is really my sisters dog, but she deserves to be on the daily puppy! She is just one big bundle of energy! She's just so ugly she's cute :) She has such a great personality. She loves being outside and watching the rabbits in the yard. She loves walks and chasing the chipmunks out back. One of her favorite snacks is carrots, don't ask me why??! :) She also loves to be close to you. Even though she's only about 15 pounds, she takes up the whole bed when she lays down! She's a great dog, and we love her so much. It's true that mutts make the best dogs :)

Sadie was born in '95. I was 10 years old that year, I had been begging for a puppy for a long time before then! Christmas morning came, and we were sitting around the tree, waiting impatiently for my dad to come down stairs to open presents. When he finally came around the corner, there she was in a little basket with a red bow around her neck! She was so loving and friendly to everyone. We lost her when she was 11 to cancer :( But she had a good long life, and I still miss her.

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

Annie was so small when she came to live with us. She was only about as big as your hand! What a fun girl she was though :). My sister, just like me, begged and begged for my parents to let her have a puppy, and they finally gave in. She named her Annie. She was born in 2001, my junior year of high school, and even though she was technically my sisters dog, I fell in love with this dog. She was the most fun, loving, friendly animal you will ever meet. She was so smart, she just always knew what came out of our mouths. She used to get so excited when we'd tell her to go outside and get the "birdies". :) She would almost pee herself in excitement to get out the door and chase the birds. One day in 2005, it was just one of those days, everyone was rushing around, and Annie had been outside to go to the bathroom, and no one realized she was missing until a few hours later. We had an inground shock collar to keep her in bounds since Jack Russells are known for wandering off. She obviously broke through it. We searched for HOURS... Days... We put up reward flyers all over town hoping someone found her. Over a week later, we received a call from a man who had accidently hit her, and said he tried to save her, but it was no use. He brought her body back to us after seeing the flyers. It was so upsetting. We buried her in the back yard. It just wasn't fair. Our poor Annie died alone with a stranger :(. It brings tears to my eyes as I write this... She was the best dog ever, and I wish she was still here with us. We miss her terribly. Dogs become a piece of you, a part of your family, and a part of your heart. I feel for anyone who has dealt with this before. Anyone listed on this site should know the impact a puppy can have on your life :)

Ace

Ace

Hi my name is Ace! I am a very sweet boy. Let me tell you my story. I was rescued by my Mom and Dad from the local Humane Society in 2011. They saw me online and came in to visit me. They decided they couldn't leave without me so now I have a new home! When they brought me home, I was pretty skinny and sick. You see, I was left at the Humane Society after my old owners lost me. I was found with my collar and leash attached. They saw me on the website and called about me... They did not want me back :( Somehow I think it was planned that way... I was very sad and lonely and didn't feel like eating much while I was in the kennel. I was pretty sick when my new parents brought me home. I had a terrible cough that really hurt my chest. I couldn't breathe right when I was coughing so hard. Mom thought it was kennel cough, so we went to the doctor. The doctor said said that I had gone through so much with surgery (neutering...Don't want to talk about that!) and that I wasn't eating right, I was so run down that I had just gotten sick. After lots of antibiotics and lots of love, I'm feeling great now! I love my new home! I have lots of room to run and I love to play with my "cousin" Mia. We take lots of walks together! I love to chase the ball, and also the small animals in the yard. Mom has had to chase me a couple times, but I came back! I can't help it! I love to chase the bunnies! It's in my blood to run :) Dad and I play tag in the house, he chases me and I chase him. I jump on him and wrestle. I love going for car rides too! I always put my paws up on the center console in between the 2 front seats and put my head in between them too. I don't want to miss anything sitting all the way in the back seat! I'm a very friendly and funny husky. I always have to know where my parents are in the house. I follow them wherever they go. I have to make sure there are no other secret exits out of the bedrooms or bathrooms, so I make sure they are still there! I love the treats Mom brings home from the treat bar at Petco. I love walks and running. I'm no longer sick, and I have filled out now from the regular food and love I get here. I now have a nice soft bed to sleep on, and am now allowed on the couch. Mom and Dad said no at first, but they don't care anymore because I'm so cuddly and cute! I love people, and I love to give them kisses and like to sit on laps when someone allows me. Sometimes I forget that I am not a lap dog! I'm so glad I found my forever home. I was worried because Huskies have a reputation of being a challenge and being very hairy. I try to help mom sweep, I sit on the floor and wag my tail, (at least I got one section of the floor swept!). I'm so happy that my parents over looked that about me and gave me a second chance. I am also glad that there are people who work in the shelter who really love pets and volunteer their time at shelters so other dogs like me can find loving homes the way I did. I hope every dog in every shelter finds a forever home. It felt so hopeless laying in a kennel for weeks, and now look at me, I'm on the Daily Puppy! :)
