Meet Heidi's 3 remaining pups Theo, Sondra and El. They are all still looking for their forever homes including their Mom, Heidi (See today's Grown-Up Puppy). Theo has one blue eye and one brown eye! He is very much an adventurer. You typically find him checking out new things in his environment or sitting there observing all that is happening around him. When held, Theo is such a love bug. His tail wags and the tongue is going, ready to give kisses. Sondra has a beautiful reddish tinge to her brown coloring. She likes to cuddle with the other pups. Sondra has a white heart on her chest which goes well with her lovable personality. Sondra loves cuddling in your lap and giving gentle kisses. El is a gorgeous grey eyed beauty that is looking for someone to define her boundaries and teach her what life is all about. El resembles a small German shepherd. She is doing great with crate training, housebreaking, boundary training and is doing well with several commands such as come, sit, and shake. El seems to be very quiet and loyal, and wants nothing more than to be alongside her person. UPDATE: Heidi has been adopted! Heidi was rescued from a high kill shelter in Southern Ohio. She gave birth to 9 puppies just a couple of days later. Heidi is a wonderful medium sized dog. She is about 1 Year and 11 Months old. She knows how to sit and come, is very, very responsive and is an overall people dog. Heidi is learning to return a thrown ball, heel, and to lay down and she's proven she's very smart. With the right family and loving direction Heidi will do whatever you ask of her. Unconditional love, devoted, attentive and ready for anything you challenge her with is what best describes Heidi. If you are looking for a friendly dog who absolutely loves people and is very loyal, she's the girl for you. Please give this survivor a chance. Visit www.ohiopuppyrescue.com and apply. Heidi can't wait to give kisses to her furever family and lay at their feet.View Profile
These poodle brothers are part of our latest puppy mill rescue. Petrie is the smallest, however he has a very big personality. Petrie loves attention whether it be cuddling him or teaching him tricks. Pierre is the biggest love bug and is happiest at your feet or in your lap. We like to refer to Pierre as a velcro dog - where ever you go, there he is. Attached right to your ankle! He seems to be very bonded with the children he has met here and has been so playful but still gentle with them. They are all such sweet puppies. Bruce is a puppy mill survivor who doesn't seem to be damaged by his horrific past. He warms up quickly and responds well to the lovie and attention. He enjoys giving kisses and can sit in your lap or in your arms for hours - he loves human touch that much!. Don't get us wrong, Bruce does love to play. You can give him a toy, run around with him, or watch him play tug of war with his foster sister - he loves doing it all. He does especially well with children and will bring great joy to any family. Did we mention quiet? Yes, Bruce does not hold that Chihuahua quality and we are amazed at how well behaved he is. He is doing great on his house training and understands what he needs to do when brought outside. How's that for the perfect pup?! You've got to meet Bruce to appreciate the great qualities he has. Bridget, Kendra and Holly were rescued together from an amish puppy mill. These beauties surely would have ended up as a lifetime breeder or sold at a pet store to most likely an unqualified buyer. First shy, now they are all coming out of their shell and starting to enjoy the finer things in life - fresh air, exercise, and lots of love! More will be posted as we learn about each individual personalities but so far they have each proven to be eager learners and giant love bugs. Please be sure to read our pets and children policy before applying if you have children under the age of 7. Large breed experience preferred but not necessary for qualified applicants.View Profile
