In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

My Lindy is gone now, Jan 3,1995 - Jan 23,2009 She was a very special dog. Very protective when she had to be, but not aggressive or mean. She was sweet, even a little shy at times. Had to be near me at all times, followed me everywhere and when I stopped she stopped and she would sit and lean he body against my leg. Not too hard as to knock me over, but just enough so I would know she was there. She guarded my bedroom door when I was sleeping. She would even talk to me in her own way. I never had to fence her in, she knew exactly where the boundaries where and never left them. But don't anybody dare cross that boundary, if I was working in the yard, she will stop you in your tracks and hold you there until I gave her the okay to release you from where you stood. She was a Lab/Chow mix and got the dreaded hip and spine arthritis that Labs usually get. Toward the end she developed congestive heart failure from lack of movement. She could no long get up on her own. She could no longer follow me around and protect me. Whenever I was out of her sight she would bark and bark until She could see me again. She also lost her hearing, so it was doubly hard for her not to be able to see me at all times. I had to do the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. It was a sad, sad day when I had to made that decision. It has been almost a month and I still cry whenever I think of my Lindy being gone. There is a huge hole in my heart that aches for her. I would give anything to feel her leaning against my leg again. She was truely 'My Best Friend!'
