Brenin

Brenin

Brenin is half Redbone Coonhound, half Chow mixed with goD-only-knows-what. He was adopted from the Maryland SPCA in December of 1995. He's got a BIG LOUD VOICE and extremely high energy level like the Coonhound, thick wooly undercoat and a blue-black tongue like the Chow, and a quirky personality & intelligence that's all his own. Brenin has been competing in NADAC agility since 1997, and has earned many titles including two championships. He's mostly retired now, but still enjoys doing jumpers classes at a reduced height.

Morag Thistledown

Morag Thistledown

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

Morag was a lurcher - Border Collie crossed with sighthound (Saluki, or Saluki crossed with something else, being the most likely in her case). She was adopted from the Maryland SPCA in June of 1999. She'd had a rough start in life, which, coupled with her quirky way of thinking, independent nature, physical and emotional sensitivity, and extremely high prey drive, made her quite a challenge to work with. Over time, she grew to trust me, and I to understand her, and she became my dearly beloved companion. She also became an outstanding agility competitor... when she was in the right mood. When she was not in the right mood, she'd lie down and roll in the grass... quite a sense of humour, my Mw had. Morag was also lovely to look at, knew it, and worked it to her advantage. :-) She had decided ideas about how other dogs (and humans) should behave, and expressed them frequently. She loved to cuddle, and to be petted by those she chose for the honor. Morag was always her own dog, and did things in her own way. She left me one month after her 10th birthday; heridity combined with her early life resulted in hemangiosarcoma. Her legacy is the lessons she taught me, especially to see what IS, accept it, and work with it rather than sticking to preconcieved notions. Never to be forgotten: Vers-NATCH, NATCH-3 Morag Thistledown, Triple Versatility, Triple Triple Superior, S-TN-E, O-TG-E, O-WV-E, ECC-400, EJC-500, EAC-700

Rocsi Cadarn

Rocsi Cadarn

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

Rocsi was a Jack Russell Terrier. A friend of mine bought her at about 7 weeks, and gave her to me at 13 weeks as a Jack Russell turned out to be a bit too much for her to deal with. She was everything a JRT should be - high energy, hunting ability, intelligent, enthusiastic, independent, but at the same time loving. She threw herself into life with such joy that nearly everyone who met her loved her. She loved agility and did well at it, excelled at hunting competitions held by the JRTCA. She died 2 weeks after her 5th birthday; cause of death sarcoma of the bone marrow, secondary to vaccine-induced anemia. In Memoriam: Rocsi Cadarn, Novice & Open Triple Superiors, EAC, S-EJC, WV-E, O-TG-E, S-TN-E; O-GTG, AG-I, AG-II, Jumpers Winner 2003 and 2005 JRTCA Nationals

Cenau Goch

Cenau Goch

Cenau is half Jack Russell Terrier and half Zwergpinscher (European-style Minature Pinscher. I adopted him from the Cecil County SPCA in August of 2008, and am his third owner. He had absolutely no training when he came to live with me, and had been a confirmed escape artist and runaway... not surprising since both breeds are high-energy hunting dogs. :-) He took to agility training like a duck to water, and as of June 15 2009 (exactly 10 months after coming to live with me) has already earned two titles. He's active, noisy, likes to hunt, and *needs* sustained exercise on a regular basis. He's also sweet as can be, and very cuddly; he likes people, including kids, and gets along well with other dogs (as long as they don't try to bully him). He's just a delightful little dog. Looks-wise, he gets his stag red color and a lot of his head and tail shape from the MinPin, but his build, voice, and leg shape from the JRT. His hunting instincts he gets from both sides! :-)
