Jasper
Jasper is a nine-year-old true-blue best-friend kind of dog. We adopted him from a shelter when he was about two years old after finding him on Petfinder; his posting described him as a "large teddy bear" and that's exactly what he turned out to be! His ancestry is a bit of a mystery but we think it includes Border Collie and something bigger, perhaps St. Bernard, so we like to call him a Border Saint! Jasper loves everyone he meets, especially children, and he likes to entertain people with his many tricks. He's calm and undemanding but when he just needs some attention, he'll roll over on his back, raise one paw straight in the air and wave it until someone realizes that it's belly-rub time!

In Loving MemoryWe were thrilled when our little Sunny was the featured Daily Puppy on April 24, 2009 (submitted by one of my sons). The shelter told us he was a Golden/Lab mix, but when we noticed the black spot on his tongue a few days later, we knew he was part Chow Chow too. Whatever he was, he guarded like a retriever, retrieved like a chow, slept like a seal and ate like a horse. He was comical and calm and stubborn and sweet and the cuddliest dog we've ever had. He passed away at the age of eight and a half months and we miss him so much.

In Loving MemoryWhen I adopted Indy, she'd been hit by a car, abandoned at the vet's and taken to a shelter, where she recovered for a month. By the time she was deemed "adoptable," she was very thin and very determined to find a new home -- and she made sure I knew it. But as much as she needed me, I think I needed her more. She was a devoted, loyal, loving friend and she was as smart as they come. When my husband and I got married, she was like our first child and we were both devastated when she died at the age of eleven after a long illness. She gave us many, many happy memories and we will always miss her.
