Amba

Amba

Her Story: Found Stray as a very young dog, fostered for short durations now kennelled. Salient points: Good to live with bigger dogs and older children. Young energy: Highly trainable. Needs fair-sized garden or open fields. Sensitive skin to chemicals and certain fabrics. Advert: Amba is a magnificent cross breed with a vibrant golden red coat. She stands elegant and runs with glee and spirit like the wind. She is just over the year and adapted well in the 3 settings we have known her in though it needs to said she did find living with 8 small dogs challenging! She was then fostered with 2 larger dogs male and female and learned manners, commands and had great fun. Amba loved being up close and comfortable with horses, and is very adaptable . She needs but has never had consistently a good exercise regime with access to a garden and to rebuild the confidence. Amba is spayed, chipped and vax'd Amba loves to meet people, copes with busy social events and really responds to new situations. She is tiny but her proportions are such in photos she tends to look twice her size. Can't understand why we still have Amba..she is so lovely, fabulous cross breed with 'pharoh hound' looks and a most amazing personality. She can get alittle excited when bored so with 2 long walks a day she settles into an easy delightful and oh so loving dog. Amba has a huge fan club and on meeting you're capitivated! If you are interested in re-homing please complete our questionnire for her at : http://www.staffierescue.co.uk/index.htm

Rodney

Rodney

His story: Rodney was found stray in London Salient points: Greyhound cross Staffie. An older puppy (July 08) needing further training or socialisation. Advert: Rodney or 'Rodders' our lanky pup. A cartoon character straight from 'Only Fools and Horses' He is all legs and no trousers. A big clumsy older pup who is so well meaning and now bringing it all together but so needs his forever home. Rodney tries so hard and needs to express his energy which kennelling hasn't allowed for. Rodney's owners would need to be confident with the management of a large dog. He is definitely the pup that just grew and grew! Rodney is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Currently kennelled in the Croydon Area. Rodney is a comedian and will have you in stitches. He is extremely loving and very responsive to attention. As his trade mark, he has a backside with tail attached which moves from one side to the other, a bit like an articulated lorry, with glee on meeting everyone!! Just look at the face! We ask you, the beauty and innocence. Rodders is getting used to kennel life and meeting dogs nicely through their doors. Currently managed on a harness and once into his walk settles to walk really well. He can be concerned about food which may have come from being stray, starving and so needing it for his growth. So a little work to build his trust; no food play or withdrawal and respect of his space so he can relax and enjoy. He is so curious to everything around him. He is becoming more relaxed around dogs and learning not to rush into play. Oh Rodney Trotter…where is your Dell boy; Uncle Albert and Raquel. Rodney has come on and is now a firm favourite within our rescue. Rodney needs his family to love and who loves him in return. A family to offer him the benefit of their experience to guide him through. Fill in Rodney quesstionare at: http://www.staffierescue.co.uk/index.htm

Ky - ADOPTED!!!

Ky - ADOPTED!!!

His Story: Ky has been through 5 homes and failed only due to his big heart with associated energy. Lived successfully with another dog and young children. Salient points: Medium sized bull breed dog. Young, well trained, intelligent and excellent temperament. Proven with children. Needs secure garden amnd active lifestyle. Advert: Ky has come into rescue having been passed from home to home. He needs a dog experienced family who are ready to receive him and able to centre their lives around his needs. He has proven time and time again to be an excellent family dog- with children of all ages, dogs inside and outside his home. His energy is bold Staffie energy that needs to say I love you I really really do! and to expressed within his exercise regime focused on meeting his needs. Neutered, vax'd and chipped. Ky is the Jack of Hearts ... people love him and he loves them. His energy levels are high currently as he is in kennels and a bit concerned as to why?! Ky has the friendly Staffie nature and we know his full history through pet homes. His forever home will be one where his owners have gone out looking for him rather agreed to take him in as he had nowhere better to go! Ky is very loveable so this shouldn't be a problem. So lets play happy families with Ky being that essential ingredient to bring the real elements of family life and fun together; exchange the tellies for the wellies; the sofa for the park bench! If you are interested in Ky fill out the questionnare at: http://www.staffierescue.co.uk/index.htm

Shiva - ADOPTED!!!

Shiva - ADOPTED!!!

Her story: Shiva grew up in Holland with a cat and a toddler. However change of work meant Shiva would be left long hours and so she was homed in with a grown up family working from home. She hasn't had the same confidence behind her but since being in kennels her dog skills have been regained- a wonderful dog Salient points: Pedigree American Bull Dog. Grow up with toddler. Good in gentle meeting with dogs rebuilding her confidence in this area. Not for cats. Advert: Shiva is a 5 yr old American Bull Dog who has had 2 good homes in her life. The first developed her into a highly sociable competent 'Must have dog'. She was rehomed in a family who have given her a really good life, but she lost confidence. Since being in kennels she has mixed with dogs on her walks and proven to be a star. Shiva is a wonderful wonderful dog. We are looking for a family who have had bull breed experience to maintain her full confidence. She is so loving, so social and so beautiful. She would suit being an only pet. Shiva now enjoys chasing cats and squirrels, loves her toys, isn't destructive, adores the car. Doesn't go on furniture and is a joy to have around. She needs a high exercise regime. Spayed, vax'd and chipped. Full pedigree papers with pet passport. Kennelled in S. Croydon. Please visit Shiva's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in our care on this forum to find out more about her and follow her progress. !Becky!

!Becky!

Becky was one of the puppies that we had to let go off. She is sister of Lincoln, and Lincoln is my only dog. She was sent to a loving home and we always get e-mails from the current owners, how she has been doing, her progress etc. I only have pictures of her when she was a puppy since that is the time i had her. I had her for 4months and those months and days will always be remembered. I am glad she found a loving home.

!!!Lincoln!!!

!!!Lincoln!!!

Lincoln is not a baby anymore. He misses his sister Becky sooo much. He is soo robust and we never know which way he will go. He keeps us on our toes and he is my only dog. He keeps away from the foster dogs in case a fight starts between them. He has longer hair than his sister Becky, and has pointy ears. His mom was a purebred siberian husky while his father is unknown. I hope you love him because i know i do! Please leave lots of comments on my only boy :)

Frank

Frank

History: Found stray, but microchipped. Owners had passed him on. The owner's details were recognised ... 2 mastiffs were found stray in the past, again covered in mange! Thank God they didn't want him back. Salient points: Challenged with chronic mange, but now under control, no longer contagious and is responding to treatment programme. Aloof in most relationships. Needs companionship and support in coping with isolation. Desperate past so needs aware, patient and committed family. Advert: Frank is a designer dog ... sadly his life just hasn't lived up to that 'dream label'. Frank was found stray in a terrible state, he isn't out of the woods yet. ?Shar Pei crossed with a smaller breed, judging by his excess folded coat of a beautiful beige with eyes to match. He is quite young, and has been neglected to the extreme; both physically and emotionally. He suffers in kennelling, as though experiencing more of the same. However he is now loved, cared for and being prepared for a very special life! Now neutered, vax'd and on a treatment programme which is proving affective for chronic mange. No longer contagious, but still affecting him. Pictures were when he first came in 6 weeks ago. Frank is sad; Frank has every reason to be. Our kennels offer him love, toys and he is receiving the very best of attention to meet his needs. He is getting used to formal walks though can sit initially as if to say 'this is taking me out of my comfort zone'. Frank now needs the owner who is willing to be there for him and provide him with the love and individual care to bring him through into his new life. Frank is currently reactive to other dogs. Needs to be an only pet and to have company and to help him trust and become close and adjusted to a domestic setting. Frank needs a special family and whow what a special dog. Asher

Asher

His Story: Homed via Battersea 7 yrs ago as a 9 month old dog. Lived with a young couple who passed him on to their parents. He has lived happily with them for the last 6 yrs. Mixed with all their grandchildren and coped well with being left. Daughter now going back to college so mother is child minding her baby grandchild and although Asher has always been brilliant with the children she is nervous from the recent press coverage so they have placed him in rescue. Salient points: An 8 yr old Staffie brindle with white socks. Good with people, children. Meets dogs well but not over interested, not a great mixer with dogs. Lovely gentle vib. who has been a model dog with people and children including toddlers. Only pet status. Not for cats. Used to kennels for holidays. Advert: Asher is in stunning health at 8 years old and has a really nice energy and is friendly with people and children. A kind dog who has been around children of all ages and welcomes visitors. He may have a touch of English Bull in him. Travels well in the car once he settles. Walks wonderfully on a lead. Doesn’t really want to know dogs. He doesn't like fireworks and 'not for cats'. So only pet, great with children and people. Asher was living with a middle aged couple providing him with a comfortable lifestyle inclusive of daily long walks. He is neutered and fully vaccinated. Lovely, kind dog who needs a retirement home in words; but he certainly isn't ready for retirement! Not a dog to be off the lead; just happy to walk beside you passing the time. He is used to being left during the day for 6 hour spells. Loves to sunbath. Easy to manage generally but not for dogs or other pets. He is part of his human pack. Gatwick kennels If you are interested in adopting Asher visit: http://www.staffierescue.co.uk/index.htm and fill out the quesstionaire. Thanks!

Monty

Monty

His Story: Monty arrived in a Welsh pound chilled and joyous ....had no idea what a dangerous place he was in. Hey look he came out the other side! Salient points: Monty is great; not as old as his white muzzle would have you believe. Welcomes meeting other dogs. Great people dog who so loves his walks. Wonderful character and such a companion. Acute skin condition currently clearing. Advert Monty is great; probably only about 5 years old so lots of life ahead of him. He was in very good condition when he was found stray. Unfortunately he has gone through the wars with us picking up an acute skin condition which is going as fast as it came. he also has picked up kennel cough bless. Anyway nothing is going to stop Monty finding his home and find it we will! In fact can't wait to meet his new owners and just know they will be a great as he is and equally as lucky. Monty is a people dog to some degree, but when out on his walk its his walk he is interested in. He welcomes meeting dogs and may well be able to live with another. He is newly neutered and vax. is delayed because of his other issues currently. He must have been loved as his self- confidence seems high. Monty is a favourite ... its that sparkle in his eye despite all; its that skip in his step regardless. Hurrah Monty you'll soon be on your way! Evette - ADOPTED!!!

Evette - ADOPTED!!!

Her Story: Evette was found stray with her friend Marie. They have stayed together since and we will home them both in with another dog as unlikely to get a home for both. Salient points: Young staffie 2 yrs. Good condition. gentle solid nature. good with people and dogs. Unassessed within a domesticated situation. Advert Evette is a darling. She presents as an observant, gentle and calm dog within the kennelled situation. She is happily kennelled with the friend she was found with; they maybe related. She has a playful side and a wonderful smile. Now spayed, chipped and fully vax'd. She is seeking her home with another dog ideally to optimize her skills. Evette is taller than your average staffie, almost a small boxer size. She walks beautifully on the lead though a little reticent about traffic. Wonderful markings and who couldn't fall for her? Please visit this Evette's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in our care on this forum to find out more about them and follow their progress.
