Profile: My husband and I have 5 dogs. My oldest, a Pekingese named Barney, crossed the rainbow bridge last month just shy of turning 17. We adopted 3 beautiful girls from the local shelter: Allie Oop (Yellow Lab), Goldie (Golden/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix), and Posie (Shepherd mix). Talbot, our terrier mix, was saved from a life on a chain. Our latest addition, Ky, is a long haired Chihuahua who we rehabilitated after a dog attack. As for me, I'm an award-winning fiction writer.

Talbot was born as a member of an unwanted litter because the people who owned the mother dog never had her spayed and kept her outside. The father dog is completely unknown, and the mother dog is a mixed breed. We believe the little guy is definitely part terrier. We had no intentions of getting another dog. My husband and I already had 3 big dogs that we had adopted at the local shelter. Getting a puppy was not part of the plan, but when we saw him and heard what had happened to some of his littermates, we had to take him home. Talbot gets along beautifully with all of our dogs, but he especially likes to play with our shepherd mix (Posie). The little guy did have some bad luck at the vet on his first visit - he was given the wrong injection and suffered with pain for a few days - but he is completely fine now. He gets his last round of puppy shots in two days, and then it's full steam ahead in taking him out on long walks with our big dogs.View Profile
