Profile: I'm a white female from Wales and I'm Welsh/English/French/Spanish. I consider myself mostly Welsh, though. My username comes from my passion and obsession with spitz-type dogs. My favourite being the shiba inu. I have been passionate about spitz' since I was 8 years old and when I'm an adult I plan on breeding them and exporting other breeds that are hardly known in the UK such as the kai ken and Shikoku inu. I also love all dogs and am fighting against the Dangerous Dog legislation as I think it's extremely unfair how any breed should be classed as 'dangerous' when each dog is different. You can't judge a few dogs on one breed. Un-related to dogs, my dream is to be an animator and I love anime films from Studio Ghibli. I also enjoy playing video games and have a large collection of games and I own a DS lite, 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and a PS2.

Ryutaro Paddington Holt (Ryu is the name he responds to) is a 4 month old shiba inu/border collie mix. However, he looks like a purebred shiba inu with his red coat, 'wolf' ears, curly tail and shiba 'eyeliner'. He was bought at Toftslain Kennels. Originally I was looking for a 100% pedigree shiba inu. But the breeder had no purebreds at the time. But she had some shiba inu/border collie mix puppies (2 litters) after an accidental breeding between the male red shiba and two female border collies. When I went to the farm with my parents to see the puppies, I was going to get a female black dog. But she had no interest in me. I went to see the next litter. The most adorable little red puppy ran over and climbed into my arms. At that moment I knew we were meant to be with each other. Ryu is quite a well behaved dog but he is still learning. With things he really likes, he can be a bit possessive and will growl and try to bite. But we quickly nip this in the bud, I pin him down and take the item away from him and he rolls over. In other words, submit. He also had a habit of lead biting but it has now stopped after we used a bitter spray on his lead. He occasionally tries to get on the sofa and steal food, but this is becoming less common and is generally a very good dog. He knows the following commands: sit, lie down, roll over, paw, other paw, fetch, return, get the ball, drop it, kisses and in the crate. Although he generally sees "in the crate" as a warning. But will sometimes get in anyway if he's very tired or is eating food. Either way, he's happy to be in the crate for sleep but still knows that it's also a place to calm down if he's been naughty. He vaguely knows spin and stay. His favourite thing to do is play fetch. He'll actually come over to you and drop a ball. He goes for a long walk twice a day by either going in the field or the beach. And for extras we take him down to our local cafe and he'll gladly sit down and occasionally get some treats. People also make comments about him daily. The most common including: "it's a fox!" "is that a fox?" "is that a fox or a dog?" "is he a husky?" "he's gorgeous!" "he's beautiful!" "what breed is he?". He's very loving. He loves everyone and wants to meet everyone and everything. But he will also guard the house and let us know if someone is in our territory. Which is a great advantage. He has a few dog friends. A little old rescued terrier mix (female), a yellow Labrador puppy named Plato (male, 14 months) and my niece's chocolate Labrador named Chip. He loves almost all dogs unless they come towards him with a negative energy. The only problem is he tends to bark after the first introduction. But this isn't aggression. He's trying to get the other dog to play and doesn't understand that old dogs just aren't interested. After being exercised, he's a very calm dog and is happy to just play by himself or sleep next to you or be cuddled. He is currently un-neutered but will be at the right age. His nicknames are: Crash, Bandicoot, Rinty, Boo Boo (my sister's nickname for him), Paddington (breeder's name), Metro. (We joke about that he is a 'metrosexual' because of the way he walks, his obsession with grooming, especially his tail and the fact he thinks it's the end of the world if a tiny bit of dirt is in him or if he gets wet.) This is good, though as he almost never needs a bath because he doesn't smell or get dirty.View Profile
