Profile: Rocky and Lucky are both rescues that were adopted on the same day from the local animal shelter. Rocky is a terrier mix puppy that thinks he's human. He's wiser than his years and always admonishes his older sis Lucky to behave when they are playing at the dog park. His kryptonite is food of any kind. Lucky is a young poodle mix who loves nothing more than to secure a place on your warm lap. She's great with people but can be a bit neurotic around other dogs, likely a result of her months as a stray.

Rocky is a rambunctious terrier mix that we rescued from the local animal shelter. Although we originally had gone to look at another dog, we were quickly won over by his joyful personality and irresistable charm. In fact, when we caught sight of him, merrily strutting his stuff down the path towards the kennels like a runway model, he was actually being returned! Their loss, our gain! Rocky has since captured our hearts with his sweet personality, gentle confidence and staunch loyalty. His favorite activities are eating, meeting new friends at the park, and bothering his older sis, Lucky.View Profile
Lucky is a young poodle mix who loves nothing more than to secure a place on your warm lap. We rescued Lucky the same day as her "brother-from-another-mother" Rocky and these two are as different as night and day. Whereas Rocky is mischievous and a canine social butterfly, Lucky is quiet and loves being around people. Fortunately they are deeply bonded and get along like two peas in a pod! The day we rescued her from the shelter (along with Rocky), she came up to us at the plexiglass and placed both her paws near the bottom opening and looked up at us with pleading eyes. Did we have any other choice but to take her home with us? We've considered changing her name to "Licker" since she has yet to meet a person she didn't lick, I mean, like.View Profile
Lily is a sweet Maltese Terrier mix puppy that was found abandoned in a foreclosed home in Las Vegas, another poor victim of the housing and economic crisis. When we first laid eyes on her at the shelter, she was curled up in a ball at the far corner of the kennel and initially refused to come out. Fast forward to today, Lily is a lightning bolt of energy, resilience and sweetness. She is usually the first one out the door and is always up for play. She loves to be around her forever family and does a little dance by standing on her hind legs when she gets excited. In fact, her energy, smarts and desire to be near the ones she loves have earned her the moniker "Escape Artist". She surprised everyone by continually escaping out of the iron side gate (with protective fencing) and running to the front door to knock to be let in (see pics in album). You can follow her antics in her very own blog lilyladybug.wordpress.com.View Profile
