Chleo - ADOPTED!!!

Chleo - ADOPTED!!!

Chleo is the most unusual looking Fell Terrier. She was born in 2007 and she has the colouring of a "yorkie" with a tight non-moult, frizzy curls with smooth face & legs. She is a whow. Chleo has a true little Miss Terrier temperament, very much the boss. She has her sleeves rolled up & ready for the next task. Left 10-12 hours a day as puppy with her partner she missed out on so much & developed traits such a tail spinning to occupy that active mind & now rarely has the odd 'accident'. Chleo is very focused & intelligent in her use of toys; ideal for agility. She gets excited meeting people in the house & immediately will try to engage them in her activities. She would be better living with older children who respect 'home exit management' & not whipping her energy up. Chleo is spayed, vacc'd & chipped. She is loving in her terrier aloof way; Chleo loves to meet dogs on her extender lead. She doesn't pull & is pleasant to walk. Her recall is 'hit & miss' so puts herself at risk but in a safe park with bonding & habit perhaps but her first fosterer found as she gained confidence and became bolder she was losing her connection! Likes to meet people & has a happy smile on her face. Not cats & small furries. A truly lovely Terrier. If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle. Stanley

Stanley

Stanley is a handsome boy born in 2005 and he is a Lakeland terrier with beautiful looks and a loving nature. He loves to sit on your lap or watch you going about your daily tasks. He can become dependent on your presence but after 10 minute protest, is happy to sleep on the sofa waiting your return. Stanley mixes well with dogs once he relaxes, but might have to test them out initially due to his nerves; typical terrier! Everything for Stanley rests around his focused comfort zone. He needs a home where there is the balance of his role as ‘companion pet' i.e. access to sofa, sleeps near bedroom (not kitchen) and living an ordinary relaxed doggie life. If living with more than one adult he needs a constructive programme geared to multiple bonding. Stanley could live with another dog companion but will need to work through his 'only dog' conditioning. We now know what we are looking for for Stanley. He walks beautifully on the lead until he sees a dog or squirrel then he sparkles, but soon relaxes with confident management. Stanley has a tight non-moult coat which needs attention every 4-6 months. Stanley is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Stanley mixes well with respectful visiting children and visitors in general, excited initially but soon settles. Would benefit from a home that understands his terrier nature and makes allowances so he can enjoy his nature also! Stanley is a super terrier, such a tender soul. If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle. MacTarn

MacTarn

MacTarn came into rescue a year ago with mange, poss. ex worker and was very thin. He was homed and has since been lovingly cared for fully vax'd, neutered & exercised. He is used to being left all day with a lunchtime visit with no problems. Sadly MacTarn grabbed a 'Pom' dog that was off the lead and rushed over to him obviously mistaken for a 'furry friend!' He didn't shake, but as it was the next door neighbours, his owner couldn't face her despite no damage done and has surrendered to Terrierrescue. If your interested in adopting MacTarn go to: http://www.terrierrescue.co.uk/ and you must then fill out the homing questionnaire. Please comment him to. MacTarn is also a PatterDale terrier and that breed is not on the dropdown so yeah i had to inform you. Also MacTarn was born in 2007.

Ben

Ben

Ben has been with his family since a 6 month pup, he is now 3 yrs old. He has been treated like a King, and a King he has become! Over the past few months since the family has had workmen in he has been asserting his rule. Now he has growled and nipped 'the father', who is 78 yrs old and has a memory loss. It was an assertive stance. Then yesterday the daughter; his owner and both of their carer, who also lives in the house and has Ben on her bed of night, went to remove a toy that had fallen over his head and he snapped and caught her hand. I went in and within 20 secs had him eating out my hand, playing, responding to affirmative "good boys" and totally relaxed. It took 20 mins to relax his owner. Ben proceeded to show me how he loves his garden; his toys; racing around to burn off energy. Ben isn't let off the lead for fear another dog will attack him..he loves to play with dogs. He presents as a puppy wanting to play and play. Ben responds well to firm voice; praise and once he relaxed I could stroke him and rough play, oh he was up for it with glee. He can get into barking mode when excited, but change the subject and he soon settles. Ben moults for Britain being mainly 'Jack'. Our plan is I am collecting him on Tuesday morning for snip;chip and 1st vax and delivering him back where he will recoup but aim to move him into a 'terrier' home without live-in children to make sure he is loved as a darling PET and respected in that role...without throne! If your interested in adopting this four legged furry friend go to: www.terrierrescue.co.uk/ and fill out the homing questionnaire. To be informed Ben was born approx. 2006. Please leave comments on this ball of energy and all the other adoptabel dogs, thanks!

Goerge - ADOPTED!!!

Goerge - ADOPTED!!!

Goerge is a Red Fell terrier. George has just turned 1 yr old and arrived with us on Monday 21st October having had an incident with a dog outside the day before. Typical terrier where they see, get overexcited, pull the lead out of the unexpecting owners hand and then grab and hold on to the dog. No blood but it was the last straw bless. It happens so often as a last straw incident with terriers. He is the playful, engaging terrier who was running off with this sock and that toy! Generally excitable when outside which ofcourse manifests as barking with glee. Everyone has bonded with him and we are all soo happy for him that he has found his forever home! Take care Goerge!!!

Tiffany - ADOPTED!!!

Tiffany - ADOPTED!!!

Tiffany is a chocolate brown Patterdale cross Collie in my books. She is just like a slightly larger Patterdale with a Collie feel to her coat and temperament. A classic cross breed. She is between 8-10 yrs old and has all her edges knocked off so a delight to walk and social in her meetings. Tiffany has come to us in a ragged dress She is in her 50's and hasn't been cared for of late..cumulating in being found stray. So the fun of our rescue is getting our sleeves rolled up and giving her, her dignity back. We would like Tiffany to have a forever home, if your interested in adopting her go to: www.terrierrescue.co.uk/ and fill out the homing questionnaire. leave lots of comments thanks!!! Also Tiffany was born either 1998 or 2000

Paul - ADOPTED!!!

Paul - ADOPTED!!!

Paul was taken in 7 weeks ago by a family as he had nowhere to go. He has been rough treated and very little offered. He is from working stock but never worked. They have held him looking for another home but it all became desperate today he informed them their 2 lurcher bitches came into season. Paul was born in 2007 and he is a Patterdale. If yor interested in adopting him go to: www.terrierrescue.co.uk/ and fill in the homing questionnaire. Please comment on this furry friend! NEW NEWS: PAUL IS NOW RESERVED AND IS GOING TO A FOREVER HOME!!!

Shadow - ADOPTED!!!

Shadow - ADOPTED!!!

Breed: Patterdale Terrier. Age: Born 2005. His Story: Shadow was found stray and never claimed. He is held by another rescue and comes to us this week mid Nov. He has been fostered in with other dogs whilst seeking a rescue place. He comes into kennels once we can set up transport. Salient Points: Shadow is approx 4 yrs old and was neutered early November. Mixed in a multi-doy household. Living with an 8 yr old child successfully and is well mannered. Not for cats; 'toy sized'dogs, small furries or feathers as will chase. Retained on extender lead and requires terrier proof garden. Advert: Shadow is a fluent Patterdale who has shown he copes well living in a multi-dog household with dog experienced people. He initially 'marked' but since shown housetraining. He understands basic commands; walks well on a lead though 'keen' and is well mannered with food and children. He will chase cats and care should be extended around 'toy' dogs and small furries and livestock as his chase and prey instinct are conversant with the working type terrier breed. Shadow has a wire coat with locks of curls and the classic boxed face. Here is a quote from his current fosterer.."Very soft mouth, will take treat very gently. "Great in the car. Not seen any aggression. Very playful with same sized and bigger dogs, likes to rough and tumble, not good for smaller dogs as he will chase. Definitely not chicken or cat friendly when tested. Nice calm dog in the house, lovely temperment. Not interested in toys, will choose to sleep on a hard surface as well as soft bed." We can only offer Shadow a 'winter kennel..can you offer him a foster place or forever home? If your interested in adopting him go to: www.terrierrescue.co.uk/ and fill the the homing questionnaire to see if you and him are the perfect match!!

Sushi

Sushi

Her Story: Sushi was the baby (substitute) until the real baby came, then out into the back garden in summer 09, literally at the age of 3. 6 months later, she began to get stressed in the wet and cold and thankfully came tapping on our door. Salient points: Terrier with a capital T hee hee!!! Background of demotion into garden means she is still in rehab. so housetraining is there but fragile. Zany energy episodes when she gets overwhelmed and excited by it all, but soon calms. Needs light, but focused atmosphere to persuade her around to your ideals, co-operative 'most' of the time. Very loving. Good dog skills, but quite insular within the pack. We are looking for aleast one other dog in her new family. Advert: Sushi is aptly named after Japanese rice- a very precious delicacy - not sweet rice.. but with a hint of vinegar Small in stature; Oriental or ornamental! Ahh soo ... Sushi is SUCH a character and since she came in from the cold has been discovering herself all over again. In fact she is having a ball. She mixes well with the dogs in her pack, yes occasional terrier positioning, but generally she flows and out on her walks almost the perfect angel. She loves company and is very happy to be shadowing her adored people around or perhaps getting up to mischief in the nicest possible way. Sushi is emerging and thawing out...and a delightful character is evident ..a true comedienne. Sushi has worked through a lot of pent up, held back, terrier frustration as she discovers herself to be a dog. Canine yes she is and is discovering her boundaries, the fun that can be had. What a dog's life can mean is her real surprise in foster its full of good food, fun games, laughter, sprinkled with a little star dust ..a few No's! and discovering and following her nose. Video of Sushi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df_lqP0vuok. If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.
