Akando the German Shepherd
Akando came from Minnesota on a big jet airplane. He didn't mind the trip as much as the Sun. The desert sun was so hot, he only wanted to lay down in the shade. He had lots of space there to run and play, but mostly just sat on his fuzzy butt, where it was cool. He especially liked the air conditioning vent. He learned all about walks and food and baths, and how to go outside for potty. Then Banshee came to stay and be his sister. At last, somebody to play with and chew on. She was awfully small, but had a bark just like a big puppy. It wasn't even another week before Daddy, Uncle, Banshee and him all moved to Seattle, the land of cool greenery. He likes the cool much better, though the rain takes some getting used to. Now with his adult fur and lanky puppy legs, he can out-pace even his daddy on their daily walks. If only he could get those pesky ears to stand up straight all the time!
What a cute little snowball. Our puppy's ears are all over the place. The breeder said their ears change direction as their skull grows. I don't know if that's true. Is his sister going to make an appearance? It would be nice to see the two of them together

Oh I love those ears I didn't have my shepherd as a puppy she was 14 months old and 2 previous owners along the line before we were lucky enough to have her come and live with us so the ears were passed this stage though she does still manage to get them in a pickle at times! Akando is beautiful and I am sure you will have many yrs of fun and happiness with her and her sister. Will we be seeing pics of her as well or may be together that would be nice :)

I just had to join today, am having trouble downloaded my babys photo, I have 2 White German shepherds 2 1/2 and 2 years old. Your baby is so adorable, her ears will go up and then she'll be all ears. This is the best breed in my eyes, they are very loyal and smart. Enjoy your baby

poor FU is suffering from cuteness overload. Akando is sooo cute that he went right past the saccharine point and got ill! Let us not blame him for this malady, for Akando is, indeed, exceedingly cute. It could happen to the best of us.
Although albinism is linked to blindness, please note that Akando is not albino at all. He has a black nose, black claws, black lips, black eyelids, and brown eyes. White german shepherds do not have any such genetic flaws - though they certainly are their own flavor of german shepherd neurotic. (which I say with the deepest affection)
Its not obvious, because the camera caught him at high shutter speed, but Akando is in mid-shake here.

Akando you are perfectly handsome! My Sheltie Bobby says to tell you that he has the same trouble with his ears 'cause his mommy wouldn't let the breeder glue them up, and he's gorgeous too just the way he is! Besides the droopy ear is to protect the inside of their ears from all kinds of things, like sunburn on white dogs. ENJOY, ENJOY!
