Alfie the Jack Russell Terrier
Alfie's mom says: Alfie has been the center of our lives since he was seven weeks old. We found out that he has an enlarged heart and fluid in his chest, and he had to see a cardiologist and was on medication. The good news is that he is going to be fine. His heart is enlarged, but it's not an issue. He does have a bit of a lung problem; we are waiting to see if it can be cured or managed with tablets. Alfie is the most affectionate, energetic, and fun-loving little dog we have ever known, and we are praying for a recovery for our little man.
Oooooo look at his eyes! That is the definition of puppy dog eyes, you just can't say no, can you? He's absolutey adorable!
I will say a puppy prayer for Alfie and his family. My son has 2 labs with parvo and he is fighting for their lives. Don't give up.

Alfie is so darling! He reminds me of my JRT, who came from a rescue shelter. I never got to see mine as a puppy, however Alfie would fill anyone's heart with puppy love. I couldn't choose only one fav picture. The ones with the ball and the plant are keepers, and the flastone pic along with the sleepy puppy are great. Makes me want to hear a JRT bark.

My 8 week jack russell Jack was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and murmur. He was featured on this website and everyones kind messages really helped me through the difficult time. I wish Alfie the best health and care and long life.
Alfie is precious ! I have two Jacks and love them dearly, they have brought so much joy into my life. He's a little tough guy and will pull through just fine. All the pics are my favorite, it was difficult to choose. Take care.

My first thought when seeing Alfie was soft, sweet and gentle, especially for a JR. I see so much love in his eyes for you, Alfie's photographer, especially while he has his favorite toy tucked under his chin. I am so glad that he has you to take such good loving care of him. I know that you give each other great joy!

Prayer is the most awesome power there is and I am sure with all the prayers that we are all saying for your Alfie that he will be just FINE and he will grow up to be a healthy, beautiful baby! Also, tons of PRAYERS for "Inmemoryofshelby" and your sons labs. I am going to pray so hard for them and for Alfie! I will have them in my prayers every single day, and Alfie too. I know they will be ok. I had a 10 year old terrier mix that survived CANCER. I didn't even know it was a cancer when I first saw it, but something made me call my vet, and his words chilled me to the bone. When I described the tiny zit on her skin that turned cherry red when touched, he told me to get her in his office immediately. I don't know how he knew, but it was a malignant tumor. He removed a huge chunk of tissue and the perimeter of the section he removed was cancer free. The tumor had begun to grow "legs" but he caught it early and she lived another 7 years!

Loved ALL the pictures, but there is something about a dog with eyes squeezed shut that makes me smile... Your little Alfie is a lovely little man dog -- I wish you many healthy happy years together. He will be added to my prayers!!!!! Have fun with this precious little guy.

very hard to pick a favorite picture for this little guy. I kept going, oh that one is the cutest, and then I would scroll down and see his adorable little face and say, no this one is the cutest and so on and so on. Seriously, Alfie seems like a very special little guy-those eyes, and those paws and that belly- I just want to snuggle and kiss Alfie so bad.
I said a prayer as soon as I read your Alfie's story. God willing, everything will be just fine. I will keep praying for this pup, please keep us updated on his health.

What a cute little love-bug! I know with your tender loving care and the JR's tough little disposition, Alfie will thrive. I almost lost my Sam when he was around 9 weeks old but thankfully he pulled through and now is a hefty 24 lbs. Hard to believe he was that frail little thing. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Jacks rule!
I love him, so darling. My little "love bug", Snuggle Bear, a Cihhuahua-Toy Poodle mix, had the same health issue. She was treated all of her life with meds and lived a healthy life until she went to The Rainbow Bridge at 15 1/2 years old. Enjoy Elfie and just keep an eye on him and keep up the visits with the Vet. He'll do ok.
