Feb 20, 2008 LabMommy

First, Asia is adorable! Puppy butts are so cute! She looks so happy and full of love!

Secondly, I know everyone feels the need to put in their two cents about rescue dogs. Well, more power to you for going to a breeder! Both my dogs are from a breeder and I honestly would not recommend going to a rescue after the experience that I had looking for our second dog.

I looked for at least 6 months - emailed and called several different shelters and the VAST majority never even called me back. We had a home visit from one group and were approved, yet they restricted what dogs we could have because we both work. They were trying to give us older dogs when our whole purpose was to find one with energy for our crazy puppy. I mean rescues have a great purpose, but the people running them need to make it their priority and get back to people that are looking to adopt. The way I was treated makes me believe that there is not a pet population problem.

So...enjoy the puppies and quit judging those who go to a breeder!

Feb 20, 2008 cindyh

Awww I have a rescue pekingese that is now 19 years old so get ready for a long and loving relationship! Mine will mug you over a piece of cheese... and peanut butter!

Feb 20, 2008 marlon.picasso

This just looks like my girl.

Feb 20, 2008 marlon.picasso

I can't get a picture with my comment and I clicked on heart icon :(

Feb 20, 2008 postiemayer

Cant resist a sleeping puppy and Asia, you are very cute. I actually wasn't going to post but the comment about the difficulty in getting a dog from rescue hit a VERY sore spot with me. I have been trying since Nov. to get a rescue dog and all the comments (particularly about them not contacting you back) have been my story. Since I do want an older dog, I am still working at it, have found one that tugs at my heart strings, but will probably wind up buying an older one no longer breeding from a REPUTABLE breeder. I have been to my local non kill shelter numerous times but they are all big dogs and my house and age can't give those dogs a good home. Okay off my soap box, thank you Asia and family for allowing me on it. I in no way meant to detract from your posting. Many happy healthy years together and keep those cats in line. 11 biccis to you!

Feb 20, 2008 Lady_Jo

How adorable! No wonder she is queen of the house! I just want to reach out and hug her. So sweet. Who could resist that precious face!

Feb 20, 2008 bigbobbie123

What a beautiful puppy. Wish she were mine!

Feb 20, 2008 maggie9583

What a little cutie

Feb 20, 2008 Aoife364

Come on, people, where are the biscuits??? Every pup deserves 20!

What fun to see this baby. I was commenting to a friend last week that you don't see Pekingeses so much anymore, even though they're absolutely beautiful. This girl is especially gorgeous.

Feb 20, 2008 clemency

I love this picture of Asia passed out in a pile of toys. It looks like she just got exhausted from an overload of fun! She is adorable!

Feb 20, 2008 BeckersUNC

Puppy tushie! :-D

Feb 20, 2008 LisaLisa

Asia the angel! What a sweet girl!!!!!!!

Feb 20, 2008 randomearrings

Asia is beautiful, she has gorgeous colouring and I love the little fluffy butt pic! What a perfect little darling, 11+++ biscuits (don't think the biscuit rating is working properly). Hugs, kisses and tummy rubs xxx

Feb 20, 2008 asiasmom

I too tried to get a rescue puppy first, saw it fit that I had three rescue kitties and a himalayan with vestibular problems in the house already. My home is a place for "throwaway" pets (people didn't want them but I sure did!)

The rescues just weren't interested in me as unfortunate as that is seeing that I cook for my animals everyday. Seems like being a pet groomer should have helped me a little too but none of it did.

So next time before you judge someone with a breeder puppy, consider the fact that they might just have a houseful of rescues too! You just never know!

Feb 20, 2008 Rosys_Mom

To all the commenter's having issues with rescue organizations, please try your local shelters. Sometimes rescue groups can be a bit picky with adoptions but a shelters, specially high-risk shelters, will most definitly let you take any dog to a good home. Also, with shelter dogs you dont have to pay the high rescue group fees and all shots plus spay/neutering is included.

Good luck to all, and thank you so much for all the puppy love!

:-)

Feb 20, 2008 piobaire

Well I just love a cute little puppy bum!! What a sweetie.

Feb 20, 2008 TrixAndSam

Puppy butts rule! (And they continue to rule even when the pups become grown-ups!)
Asia, you're adorable. I'm thrilled for you that you found your little kingdom to rule. Here's hoping you have a long, healthy and happy reign!

Feb 20, 2008 cookiebaby

Always love the butt shots! But seriously, she is one gorgeous baby. You sound like a wonderful mom. Love the name. Wishing you all the best!

Feb 20, 2008 Molly's Mommy

Far too cute for words. She looks like she would be fun to come home to.

Feb 20, 2008 LoveRox

What a gorgeous lil peanut! I want to bring her home to snuggle up with me and my lil ones! <3

Feb 20, 2008 mqm501

As usual I went for the sleeping puppy pic. Poor Asia exhausted by playing with all her toys and having "read" the sports section just has to take a nap. 11plus biscuits to the beautiful Asia and have many happy years your majesty!
Very Best Wishes from Sunny Spain.

Climbing onto my soapbox now!
I applaud the work of the rescue societies. Here in Spain they do great work and without them my girl Trudy would have been killed by the authorities days after being picked up. Admittedly I only have experience of the U.K. and Spain but many of the more local societies are run by unpaid volunteers who work hard to find good homes and raise money to continue the work. Always remember there are those who seek out cheap or free animals to sell on for experimentation or to be used as "bait" in dog fight training. So don't blame the societies for being careful - they have to be! Having said all that - it is important to get a dog that suits you and your lifestyle. A rescue isn't for everyone. (Though if you can't adopt why not donate!)

Feb 20, 2008 Lovethempuppies

She may be a "Queen" but it looks like she still gets in trouble!

Feb 20, 2008 bopeep

Hi little darlin Asia. You remind me of my Timo 50+ years ago when I was a young kid and I took him from a neighbor who was giving him away. Turned out he had distemper and I can still remember the 24 hour care I gave him to recover. He lived a healthy and happy life for years. Asia you are beautiful and indeed a queen. Hugs, kisses and 11 biscuits from Kansas USA.

Feb 20, 2008 iamme

This made me smile. lol A little tushy in a basket. hehe :) Too cute!

Feb 20, 2008 sue

shes adorable

Feb 20, 2008 anniebabes52

OMG..........Asia what a cutie pie you are!!! Your little face just melts my heart and makes me laugh out loud. I wish you and your family a long, loving life together. Tons of hugs, kisses, and biscuits.

Speaking of biscuits. I am not sure if everyone understands that you need to put your computer mouse on the 11th biscuit in order to vote for giving the puppy of the day the 11 biscuits they ALL deserve, because I didn't. I just realized that I needed to put my !mouse on the 11th biscuit to award that amount. Before I had just clicked on the biscuits. So for all those puppies that I have in the past awarded biscuits and perhaps did not give the proper amount to, I apologize from the bottom of my heart! This daily dose of puppy has given me so much joy and laughter in a trouble time in my life.........so here's a ton of biscuits to all the past puppies that I may have unknownly short-changed them!!!!!!!

Feb 20, 2008 babydollp80

Get that toy little girl. After looking at all the pictures i have to tell the one showing her little bottom was too cute as all of them were.
20 biscuits for your little beautiful girl. Enjoy & love her.

There is only one thing that matters whether you get a pet for a breeder or rescue or shelter is that you love them always. I had poodles all my life from breeder but my current little loves were all rescued. And again the important thing is the love & care you give them. They are our little angles.

Feb 20, 2008 srn65

Backwards or forwards, she's a doll!

And wherever our furry children come from, it doesn't matter - they ALL need homes, they all need love. And I can guarantee, any animal we see here is a loved member of the family.

Feb 20, 2008 jowaldo

Ya gotta love that puppy butt!!! :)

I too, agree with LabMommy and all others that spoke out on the issue of breeders vs. rescues.....it's absolutely NOBODY'S business where you get your furever child. All animals deserve love. I have a wonderful dog I found at a shelter, but I'm getting one Friday that came from a breeder!! It's America people....doesn't "freedom of choice" mean anything to you!??!?!

Anyway, enjoy Asia......she's a gem! :)

Feb 20, 2008 LucyB

Too cute, I can see she has the regal attitude and will rule her kigdom wisely.

Feb 20, 2008 LucyB

Oops, spell much? I meant kingdom.

Feb 20, 2008 Wellie'sMum

Oh, who could resist that fluffy puppy butt??

She looks like she'll be a very wise ruler of her little kingdom!!

Feb 20, 2008 asiasmom

Thank you everyone for your kind words. My pets are the loves of my life and each one is special in their own way. I love showing them all off... it's like a mother showing off her child. They are my children!

Feb 20, 2008 lotsapets

Asia, you are one sweet little thing !! You look like an angel when you are asleep......................

Feb 20, 2008 lorriane44

Yep Real Good Diet. My dog is mixed maltese/wsesthilander and he is on all natural as well as home made foods. I will not feed him lamb, duck or vison. He loves his veggies, beef and chicken.
People if you love your pet like Asias owners love her. Treat him/her the way you want to bwe treated. Love, proper diet, grooming, play and exersize. And feed according to age too. My dogs 9 and in perfect heath and runs way faster then you I am sure.
Good luck with Asia she looks like a lucky little angle.

Feb 21, 2008 2pups1kit

Best wishes for this fluffy girl pup! I am glad mom is a groomer---Asia will need mom's expertise as she gets her adult coat!
I have both a pure bred pup from a breeder & a rescued dog & feel that all dogs deserve loving, forever homes. Not all situations fit all people or all dogs all the time. We are blessed with the responsibility to care for these 4 legged angels on earth!

Feb 21, 2008 JulianaN

What a cutie!! Very sweet face and looks soft and cuddly. Hopefully she'll rule the roost over all the kitties! :-) Have a great time with her.

Feb 21, 2008 kwikwitz

Asia would be hard to refuse. Especially with that face. I'm sure Queen Asia rules with an iron paw!

Feb 21, 2008 olgadabest

What a sweetheart! Many hugs and kisses for Asia!

Feb 21, 2008 Suki's Mom

What a cutie! Asia looks like a fuzzy version of my puggy girl. Can't resist those puppy dog eyes!

Feb 21, 2008 pamperedpooch

Very photogenic.

Asia is most definatly Queen but why shouldn't she be? i mean, come on, who could resist those puppy dog eyes staring out from that little bundle of joy? the kitties are no match for her, even if she is such a cutie she has nerves of steel and is used to gettting her own way.

A little angel.....or is she???
mwah hahaha... sorry

no i'm sure she is absolutely adorable and all you can do is love her, nothing more nothing less

Feb 21, 2008 Dottie

Will someone please PLEASE tell me why every single beautiful puppy on this site EVER gets below an 11? I just don't get it. To all you poopoo heads out there who downrate pups--ANY of these pups--may you slip and fall in a thousand piles of Pekinese PooPoo!!

Feb 21, 2008 dreamcouture375

she is so cute when she's sleeping!!! i love the fluffy puppy butt picture too. 2 cute!!! 11 biscuits!

Feb 21, 2008 mash18020

LOL......what a cute set of fuzzy buns....:-) Asia you are adorable! And boy can you tell in your little face that you are queen...:-) I hope you have a long healthy fun life....and a million doggie treats to you too!!!!!!!!!!

Feb 22, 2008 imaprn

Oh you lucky lady. I've had these puppies for years and there's not a single other breed who knows your mood and will match theirs to fit yours. A simply beautiful dog. I've always felt that Pekes thought they were cats anyway. So precious.

Feb 23, 2008 pamperedpooch

You are SIMPLY GORGEOUS! these types of dogs are so caring and gentle and they all have their own personality. BEAUTIFUL

Feb 23, 2008 pamperedpooch

Best wishes to you and your family, Asia (love the name)! And i hope you never change and that you bring joy to all those around you XX

Feb 23, 2008 paws4thought

Asia, what a princess. Your face says it all "I am the Queen around here. Bow down before me and do as i say......bring me a teddy!"

Oh yes, she is the queen alright, but i must say that it would be very difficult to resist that pleading face and puppy dog eyes.
But im sure that she is dignified and is a very fair and loving queen really, and tugs on her followers heart strings, every time she catches their eye.

She is a BEAUTIFUL Pekingnese who has a very adamant personality.

She is completely in control and the kitty-cats are no match for her.
They will just have to take the backseat for a while.

She has a very good diet which should give her a very long life span. I have 7 dogs at the moment and have had many in the past, all of whom have lived very long lives. With a mixture of healthy foods dogs will live amazingly happy lives.

Asia is one lucky pup with a lot of attitude.
Have fun and good luck!

X OX[/ color] O

Feb 23, 2008 paws4thought

On that note about the cats, dogs always tease cats, it is natural. I have 7 dogs, 3 cats and 4 horses and we all get on like a house on fire.

Even though Asia may tease the cats, she actually has much respect for them.

Take this for example: Ozzie, my massive Newfoundland, is forever teasing the cats, Jacoby, Vladimir and Barnstable. BUT when the cats want to lie in his basket (which they do) Ozzie moves instantly out if the way.

It is the same with all my other dogs as well. Although Asia is Queen of her kingdom, she has much respect for her followers............all of them.

As lovely and as cute as this may be, you can't let her overrule you. Because if she does, then she knows she can get away with anything and you have no control over her which is not what you want really.

As I said, Have fun and enjoy it.
