Bentley's sister says: Bentley is a four-and-a-half-month-old sweetheart. He loves his buddy Dudley, our slightly older basset, and enjoys nothing more than chewing on a big stick outside on his lounge chair. His sweet face makes it hard to be mad at him, and he uses this to his advantage. He loves to bug Dudley and get him riled up and then just look up innocent as though he was doing nothing wrong. He's a big mama's boy and constantly cries for my mom to pick him up so that he can sleep in her lap. If you sit on the floor, he'll climb right into your lap -- it's where he feels safest. Bentley plays until he's too tired to even stand, and he'll just fall down and sleep wherever he is. And man, does this little guy snore! He's just a love.

When my ex-boss brought a basset puppy home, his now ex-wife said "Now I know what it's like to have an ugly child!" Beefer grew up to be a spectacular old gentleman, beloved by all, and I hope Bentley does too! My boss was well-rid of that woman, and had a much more fun and loving companion in his Beefer! Bentley is an adorable child--- anyone can see that!

I'm not much of a bassett fan, but this little guy, oh my! THE EYES! Well, I'd be wrapped around the paws in an instant. What a cutie! So "squishable" (hugable), as a friend's daughter would say.

Finally a Basset! He is so cute with those eyes. He looks just like my Bailey did a few years ago. I love him. I love all Bassets! I love him sleeping with Dudley. I have pictures like that of my boys too.

As a fellow Basset owner, I can attest that they are the cutest puppies in the world, and Bentley is no exception. I wish you many more weeks of him tripping over his ears - until he finally learns to lift his head while he runs. =)
Oh, I have fallen in love. His eyes are just too much! He would probably be so spoiled if he were with me. How hard it would be to discipline those "Betty Davis" eyes.

Sooooo cute! We have a 4 year old bassett, who as a puppy began sleeping on our lounge chair too! She still does it - it has become Mandy's chair...haha. Have fun with your pup - what a cutie!

Bentley has such a sad face, but that is what Bassett Hounds look like, which makes me love them so much. How can you be mad, when you look at that face???? I always wanted to have one. I remember, when I was younger, my father found a lost one, & took him into our home, until the owner came to claim him. I just loved that dog, & loved his droopy ears. Best of luck with Bentley, & don't worry about spoiling him.
Oh god. Bassets are my favorite breed ever. Do you mind if I ask what breeder you chose, for both your bassets if possible. I'm always looking for good non BYB basset breeders and Dudley is one of the most gorgeous basset colorings I have ever seen. But I'd just like to know so I can maybe check them out too!

Bentley is a beautiful little boy basset! Of course he is a "mama's boy", Bassets love being cared for and spoiled and I'm sure Mama loves little Bentley. Dudley is a cutie too -- sharing his sleeping space with his little bro. Belly rubs for both Basset boys!

For those of you who asked, we didn't get Bentley right from a breeder. We got him from Shake a Paw in NJ - he's from a breeder in the Midwest, perhaps Kansas, but I might be mixing him up with Dudley! And to the person who asked about Dudley, yes he is a pure bred Basset - no matter how many bassets I've seen, each one is so unique! They're both just the best, and getting to be such buddies, although Dudley is sad not to be the baby anymore!
I would really like to adopt a basset hound whether it is a puppy or full grown. I live in the Northern Virginia area. If anyone is a breeder, or knows of what direction I should take, that would be great!
