SO CUTE! he is a snow puppy! 11 biscuits!! hugs and belly rubs!:)

Jun 12, 2007 untbunny

Such a regal young fellow. It is amazing to see the quick progression of development in this breed. One can only imagine the deep bark of this gentle giant. You lips are so full and lushious. Massive kisses and ear rubs to you sweet baby

Jun 12, 2007 ckporter73

Such a beautiful puppy! I long to those ears a good scratch. They look so SOFT!

Jun 12, 2007 tammatha

Wow, is he darling! He reminds me of a Newfie a bit. My dog is a Newfie mix and has the exact markings/coloring and hair that stands up on the forehead. I think he is one of the cutest pups I've seen!

Jun 12, 2007 allgodscritters

Chembo is positively majestic! I love all of the Tibetan breeds. Their eyes seem to convey a certain depth of heart and soul (It must be something about that part of the world.) I know that Chembo will bring you so much love, joy and comfort, as well as protection and fierce loyalty. Please give him a big hug from me, will you? Also, I would love to see more pictures of him as he grows to maturity. Does he have a blog?

p.s.: Maintain that leadership role for him. He will love you even more for it.

Jun 12, 2007 allimarie

Oh man...that face could get away with a lot! So cute!

Jun 12, 2007 Liam4276

Omigosh, he's beautiful! Tibetan Mastiffs are my favorite of all the mastiff breeds.

Jun 12, 2007 rijbakluva

omg - i LURVE the markings he has on his paws = and how massive his paws are !!! Big dogs rule!!!

Jun 12, 2007 MichelleT

I've never heard of a Tibetan Mastiff before... Chembo looks big & beutiful, but then I'm biased towards big dogs, there is SO much to hug and kiss!!!

Jun 12, 2007 BTLabs

What a handsome boy. He has the kind of eyes that make him look like he's about to say something! So intelligent!

Jun 12, 2007 rachel.the.dog.lover

i love her little curling tail!!!:D

Jun 12, 2007 gnosticway

This is a lovely, cute little fellow, but he will certainly grow to a momentous size. Just how much does he eat ?

Jun 12, 2007 Trevor's mom

What's with that perpetual pissed off expression?? Makes me want to grab that face and smooch it!! He's definitely ginormous, but then, you knew that didn't you? I have to lay down now, after this BIG dose of cute--thanks for sharing him.

Jun 12, 2007 Teddie

Does he get to come indoors much? He looks hard to keep out. Is he still a lap dog?

Jun 12, 2007 Terry C

I'm a LITTLE dog person, but he is adorable.

Jun 12, 2007 llt214

Jun 12, 2007 Kiragirl

To Charlotte Smith, what does " I <3 him!! " mean? (just curious, never saw that before)
Oh, and love the pupster's curly tail and fuzz.

Jun 12, 2007 ezrinjaz

Oh my goodness! I'm in love! And Chembo, you like water just like my baby girl, Kira does! She's a Great Pyrenees. Big dogs are the best!!!!!! You deserve to be spoiled so very much. You are a wonderful baby. I'd love to see some photos of you all grown up, you're going to be so handsome! I bet you'd be a wonderful lap puppy too!!! hehe

Jun 12, 2007 LabMom

Soooo Serious for such a young little (or not so little) guy. He is beautiful. 150 pounds?!#* OMG! He's gonna rule the roost!

Jun 12, 2007 lisaivey

Wow, look at that face! He just has that look like, "Yeah, I'm the boss. You got a problem with that?" *giggle*

Gorgeous doggie - 11 biscuits!

Jun 12, 2007 Mary V

Ok, now that is one big puppy. About the feet! I hope he has good training cuz wow, he would be tough when he is grown. Love the hair on the top of the head and he IS quite majestic!
Bucky and Bailey's Mom--

Jun 12, 2007 dogsrule

Now THAT is a dog!
Where do I begin? Nose? Eyes? PAWS? Fur? SIZE? Nobility? Everything is gorgeous about this pup.
Really made my morning! I just love him.

Jun 12, 2007 faintsfromcutedogs

He's a LION. He's a BEAR. But no tiger (that I can detect). Oh my.

Jun 12, 2007 cindsue

That's alot of fluff. He is adorable. Huggable.

Jun 12, 2007 Yourmomsage

Wow, what a serious face you have for a puppy! I love the shot with the ball on your nose! You are very cute and huggable looking!

Jun 12, 2007 Yourmomsage

You remind me of the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz! But don't worry, cutie pie! I'm sure you'll grow up to be extremely brave!

Jun 12, 2007 Bobbie

As "grandma" to a 164 pound Newfie, who came to our family full grown, he makes me think that this is what George might have looked like almost 8 years ago. I have never heard of this breed, but oh, my goodness, love on four feet and what big feet, to boot!

Enjoy him and yes, remain "top dog" especially when looking a 150 lovebug in the eye! Many kisses and tummy rubs to Chembo and many blessings to his family.

Jun 12, 2007 Penelope

Gee, somehow I don't see him as a picky eater. Eleven biscuits for this beauty boy!

Jun 12, 2007 txmadre

I love his facial expressions! He looks as if he is bored with the whole thing. Beautiful dog. Congratulations to you.

Jun 12, 2007 Boo's Mom

OK...so Chembo is gonna be 150lbs.....bet ya 10 bucks he doesn't know that! LOL
My guy Buster(Boo) is 85lbs......but he thinks he's a lapdog...LOL:)
Don't worry 2 legged Daddy....55lbs or 150lbs.....YOU will always be the one in control.......
Wishing you many many happy years together....your Chembo is a real charmer!!

Jun 12, 2007 sevens88

Those are the most soulful eyes I have ever seen. A true Tibetan dog to be sure. He will be your true friend and guardian forever!

Jun 12, 2007 Nana to the pups

He is a beautiful specimen of his breed. He looks so majestic yet playfull. I bet he is going to be more than a handful when he is full grown. You must feel well protected when he is around.

Jun 12, 2007 crazyCAdoglady

What a beautiful, wise looking boy. More puppy=more to love. Big dogs are the best, and you are going to have one big doggy! His eyes, I agree, convey such intelligence and depth. I had never heard of this breed either, and I am in LOVE!

Jun 12, 2007 pauleenm

He's so gorgeous!

Jun 12, 2007 Lily'smom

Oh My......What a beautiful dog! He is absolutely gorgeous.

Jun 12, 2007 allimarie

Kiragirl: "<3" is a heart, so "I <3 him" is "I heart him," or "I love him."

Still lovin' the Chembo! :D

Jun 12, 2007 BeckersUNC

What a handsome puppy. And so stoic! I'll bet that a belly rub would get us a grin… :)

Jun 12, 2007 Jess

You hope you stay in control?! Is there an alternative? Enjoy your puppy - and your training classes! x

Jun 12, 2007 bopeep

What a handsome ball of fluff. Yes, he might be a BIG dog, but I bet you will have a very faithful and loving companion. Big hugs and kisses.

Jun 12, 2007 AaawWorthy

What a proud-looking puppy! Looks like he already knows he is a regal fella.

Jun 12, 2007 yoliesf

He's beautiful!

Jun 12, 2007 piobaire

I've seen this breed up at the Trailing of the Sheep Festival in Hailey, Idaho. They are magnificent. You have a beautiful specimen. Good luck on staying top dog before he gets full grown!

Jun 12, 2007 kukie

wahhh! what a handsome fellow...wish I could give him a big scratch...he is a doll with massive paws!

Jun 12, 2007 TibetanMastiffMom

Too bad Idaho is so far away from us. The Trailing of the Sheep
Festival sounds like fun. What do they do there? Can people
bring their dogs? We certainly can use the luck staying on top.
Thanks.

Jun 12, 2007 chembo

Hi folks,

Thanks for all your comments! We really like this website and it's really nice seeing all the beautiful dogs... I'll definately submit more pics as Chembo gets older. I need to get him weighed again just to see where he's at...must be around 60lbs by now... He was born on Jan 2nd and was one of six (3 boys/3 girls)

Jun 12, 2007 dottiejean28

I LOVE the Tibetan breeds! I have a 15 month old shih tzu myself! I've rarely seen a mastiff in this bred but i'm glad i have! Such a pleasure to gaze on his gorgeous face and handsome frame...He seems like he would be a GREAT dog around children and very protective....may have to look into this breed when im ready to expand my canine family

Jun 12, 2007 dottiejean28

change that...i may end up kiling the one I have...she just ate a large turd.

Jun 12, 2007 Loizhanne

Dottiejean, my roommate's shih tzu does the same thing with deer scat!
Chembo, I love you! You looked so regal, so serious, so majestic, and then I hit the picture of you sitting there with a ball in your mouth!

Jun 12, 2007 taramh

You are sooooo adorable! Those freckled toes, those eyebrow dots, that big puffy head. The peeking over the toy is toooo cute. I love you! :)

Jun 12, 2007 crazyredheadedwoman

Beautiful dog!

Jun 12, 2007 chembo

Chembo Chi says woof woof for all your comments. He wishes he could visit with all of you and give you doggy kisses.... But he stills gets a little roadsick when he is in the car...though he is getting much better. He wishes it was snowing and is not a big sun worshiper... Right now he is impatiently waiting at home for his "dad" to get off the internet and take him out to the park...

Jun 12, 2007 tambore

Hi Chembo's Mom:
One, then two, then three and last count, four Tibetan Mastiffs lived as a "pack" in peaceful coexistence on my block in NYC. They were the most obedient, gentle and loving "big" dogs I've ever encountered. They moved away and tonight I spotted Chembo which brought back happy memories. Chembo, you are one spectacular guy! You in the stream just melted my heart. Happy Life Everyone.

Jun 12, 2007 rdimonte

I just love Chembo!!!!! He has the meanest look on his face, but he's just so damn cute. By the looks of his paws, he is going to be BIG. Love the picture with the ball thing on his face. That look is too precious. I could just see myself hugging & kissing him like crazy. Have lots of fun with Chembo; he is a super duper puppy.

Jun 12, 2007 maggiesmith'smom

What a handsome spirit. Good dog.

Jun 12, 2007 Annikensdogluv

What a DOLL! I give that pup a 20!!!!

Jun 12, 2007 rkincaide

Yes, He's definitely a big pup boy. Just so adorable!!!

Jun 12, 2007 Penelope

This is to Dottiejean...you must have cats to appreciate what ALL dogs REALLY LOVE TO EAT! My neighbor's yorkies regularly visit my side yard where the lariope grows, because the neighborhood cats use it as a toilet. My four cats don't go outside or it would be even more inviting.

Jun 12, 2007 krisl73

What a cute puppy! Adorable!

Jun 13, 2007 mountainfamily

He's adorable! I abslutely love the pic with the ball on his nose... his serious little eyes staring at the camera as if he's saying, "What are you lookin' at?"
Also love the picture of him trudging through the creek and the ones in the snow - all puppies should have the chance to romp in the snow or have a good swim! Enjoy this puppy time, 'cause it'll be over into 150 pounds of gigantic dog before you know it!

Jun 13, 2007 mountainfamily

Forget to add a smiley - :) here it is...

Jun 15, 2007 Kariah

Well ain't this just the cutest lil' ball of fluff I done seen in a while. Chembo is such a lil cutie. I've never heard of a Tibetan Mastiff before, but if they all look like him, then I've fell in love. He looks like a lil' mountain dog puppy!

Jun 15, 2007 chembo

Hi, this is Chembo's dad. TM's recently received full AKC certification and you should now be seeing them at the major dogs shows in the U.S. TM's have been used primarily as a family and property guardian for many millennia, being one of the oldest breeds. Like most ancient (and less evolved dogs) the females will only go into heat once a year. TM's are generally aloof and watchful of strangers, and highly protective of family and property. Chembo already has a wonderful, deep voiced bark (haven't seen a bear for weeks! though he is socializing very nicely. So far he is just exceptional in public with other people and kids, though we'll have to see how his personality continues to develop as he gets older. The maturity/growth period is about 3-4 years which is much longer than the average dog. Also they have an average life span of 12+ years which is longer than most large breeds. They are highly intelligent, independent, strong willed (definately!) though rather reserved.
Males will grow to about 140 -180lbs and should be a minimum height of 26 inches at the withers.

Woof!

Jun 30, 2007 pupcake

Such a beautiful bear of a dog !!!! <3

Jul 2, 2007 maggiesmith'smom

While I have loved each of the daily dogs, Chembo's pictures have stayed in my mind's eye. I have a WONDERFUL Havanese that I wouldn't rade for anything, but I am a big dog person at heart and Chembo is just amazingly wonderful. Thank you for sharing the photos. Maggie would still like to play with him and I'll bet she'd give him a real workout.

Aug 17, 2007 ddogtay

Jan 20, 2008 denawolves

Most gorgeous dog I've ever seen, and I do love them all- but Chembo Chi and his deep voice are hard to beat- Thanks soooo much for sharing!

Mar 4, 2008 doggieaunt

How could I possibly fail to see Chembo Chi when checking out the site in June (and just a day before my b-day, so he'd have been a great gift!)???

Anyway, belated congrats on the arrival of Chembo's "cousins" at Westminster this year; perhaps we'll see him in a future Westerminster -- he's certainly handsome enough for it (to say nothing of just plain adorable when covered with snow . . . fooosh!!!)

Mar 25, 2008 chembo

Hi Folks,

Jus an update. Chembo Chi is now almost 15 months old and is still a happy, healthy boy. He is very light on his feet and tries to prove it by dancing with me (jumping on me) every day. He is now about 100lbs and still growing. He is very particular and requests that I serve him chicken, steak, ribs, salmon or lamb most days..and vanilla ice cream for desert is okay too. I've starting posting a few video clips..just search for Chembo Chi on YouTube....

Aug 5, 2008 SexiLexi
