Dottie's mom says: We met on my birthday, a cold day in December. Her face in the pet store, I'll always remember. With her thankful hugs and licks from day one. She's bold and she's fearless and plenty of fun.A few months later, she's lengthened and grown - and I know that she's happy each time I come home. The "zoomies" are funny, she'll jump and she'll play. She goes nuts in the snow. She could run all day. Dottie 's a real sniffer, a curious pup. We play "hide the bone" and she never gives up. From Houston to Hollywood; in sun and in snow - she travels with me where ever I go. She's happiest when it's "sleepies" time. The closest of laps is where she'll recline. I love her, I love her, I love her, it's true. She can't wait to dig a hole in your heart, too.

Love the sleeping puppies soooooooo sweet , lots of hugs and kisses to your new baby . Enjoy Enjoy . she sure is so cute. 11 biscuits
I think her toys are so cute-
The zoomies are best-
Dottie will zooma zoom zoom-
until sleep makes her rest!
oh boy ANOTHER BEYOND ADORABLE MINI DOXIE that's 2 in one weekend!!
I hereby designate March 2008 mini doxie month!!!
Love her name & your poem about your little girl!! love, hugs and loads of biscuits from Malachy red-smooth-mini-doxie-boy and his mommy in Michigan!
When I first saw Dottie's photo...I got the biggest kick out of it....She is such a CUTEY PIE!!!!! Look at those eyes and that smile on her face!!!!! Such a character!!!! She will give you lots of laughs and happy times.
Awwwwwwwwwww what a beautiful girl and a wonderful name too ... loadz of little tummy tickles to her.... now then were did we hide that bone??????? Thank you for sharing her with us x
"Mom, you're a poet and you know it. I'm happy you're happy, that's my job. Rescues me a pal and you'll never sob."
Dottie is just beautiful. Wonderful coat of many colors!!!! As a fellow doxie mom, I know you will have such joy with Dottie. Doxie's are the most affectionate dog there is. Our Dorie sends lots of snuggles, belly rubs, romps, and kisses. Best of luck to you all in Dottie's family and friends, a long and happy life full of fun times, good health, and snuggling!!! Dottie, you are a very special baby!!
I really enjoyed the poem about your precious puppy. She is absolutely beautiful and I am so jealous. I had a mini doxie named Gyro (aviation family, ha). She was so loyal, smart, and loving. Gyro kept our feet warm at night, too. Enjoy your puppy. If she is like our Gyro, she will give you many years of love, laughter, and loyalty.
What a super-cutie pie! She's just beautiful :D
I know we all want to rescue dogs, but why do people feel the need to throw it in every time a dog has been bought from a store? Repeatedly preaching the same story when the dog is already bought just annoys everyone and makes you a bad sport. We're here to celebrate the puppies in question, wherever they come from.
As the owner of two Dapple Dachshunds, I love to see cuties like this. She is so precious. So innocent looking as they take command.
Absolutely dottielicious! I'm a bit prejudice, though, as I have one just like her. Her name is also Dottie and she is a dapple. Looking at these adorable pictures is like going back in time and seeing my doxie as a baby again. Your Dottie really is a cutie pie and will bring you lots of fun and love.
What a precious little angel!!!!! My heart belongs to the large breeds, but I would make an exception for this little girl.....she is absolutely adorable!!!!!! 11++++++ bisquits for this baby!!! Here's to many, many happy and healthy years!!!!!!
Wonderfully beautiful Daxie! She stole my heart, too. However, I am a SERIOUS SUCKER when it comes to long little doggies. My CONSTANT companion is my third weiner. Kudos, and many, many happy bones together!
Wow - what a story. It is so nice to hear sweet "I love you's" regarding our pet!!! I am teary eyed because you have given her such a wonderful life and in return she has fulfilled your every need. I am so glad she travels with you. I could not imagine being one day without my precious one too. The photos and description are very beautiful!:)
Love, love, love this dog!!! We have a miniture too, Coco Channel ......aka..Pooie. They are so fun and it makesme want more of the same. A million biscuits to ya!!
Dottie - you are stunning. What a beautiful shiny coat you have. Enjoy all the travels with Mom for many, many years.
And I couldn't agree more with what Sagelit said. Why must "rescue" be thrown in with just about every comment made by one regular on here? I don't think anyone enjoys listening to a broken record!
What a cutie she is and having a weined dude also I will tell you. They are such loveable, loyal pets, she will always be either in your lap or by your side. She will never run out of kisses for you and will be your partner for life.
Your puppy melted me with those big eyes the moment I opened my email and saw her photo! What a beauty....
-Ellie Mae Dog's mommy
What a pretty little girl she is,I'm sure she brings lots and lots of joy to you!I love that little round tummy.Hope she keeps you happy for many years to come. 11 biscuits for young lady!!!!
She is an absolute doll!! Congrats on the love and memories you will have with her. 11 biscuits for the beautiful girl!
Four legs, waggy tail, best friend, always happy to see you?? Yup, it's a dog. Go easy on goldenlover, guys. He/she has a passion the same as big breed lovers/small breed lovers/"not fond of that breed" ... which I've read on this site/smooth-coated/wire-coated/pure bred/muttley. Goldenlover is predictable and says nothing nasty, nor critical, actually .. he/she just has a passion for rescue. Please try to admire the passion. But for the Grace of God, your doggie might need rescue too, one day.
Your little Dottie is a precious, precious puppy. All the puppies on this site are perfect. It's always the humans who need work.
I'm choosing the "starlet" photo ... it works so well with the Hollywood sign!! XX00
Ontario, Canada
Miss Dottie Matrix
your Mommy was right...
You dug a hole in my heart
at the very first sight
Keep chasing zoomies
and find all the treats...
you're a traveling hound
and that's kinda neat
Happy trails to you sweetie pie!
xoxo from Fl & 11 biscuits too
Your Dottie is an adorable dachsie! I couldnt resist this pic with the socks & yoys to show how small she was----& of course her darling bare puppy belly!
I had a dachsie growing up. Schatzi was a character from day 1--he grew up to be very brave, we used to say he's really a German Shepherd in disguise! Also, my Dad, who was totally crazy about Schatzi, used to joke that we should have named him Schnapps. Why? Because he was such a great little licker (liquor)!!!
Have fun & many many years of great times in good health with your little licker! Please, be cautious about her back, lift her up & down stairs, out of cars, etc. whenever you can.
11 biscuits!
P.S. And SUCH a sweet, clever poem to introduce her!!! It only added to my smile from seeing her photos!
I love doxies and she is one beautiful little girl I have two now had three but after years of back surgerys and lots of rehab he was not doing well , she looks to be like my rettster into every thing she will keep you on your toes she will be the delight of your life, the best to you, from rettster, mitsy, and me.
Little Dottie, you are beautiful. Those kind eyes are so expressive. I would just love to hug that long, baby body! Your mom sure loves you baby girl. Bless your heart.
May you both have a wonderful, loving life together.
P.S. Goldenlover, You go girl.....pretty funny stuff.
Dottie is a real cutie-pie, so wonderful that she has brought such joy and happiness to you, and you, to her. May it continue for many special years with your very special pup!
"Let's go down this one, mom! I haven't checked this path yet for bones!"
Dottie, you're adorable. A hundred million biscuits!
I agree with Sagelit. Time for goldenlover to find another forum for the broken record about "rescue me a pal". Not everyone can afford to take on another dog or maybe someone lives in a place where they can't have more than one pet. No need to make an owner irritated or feel guilty about how she or he has gotten a pup. Let's just enjoy the pics and stories!
"I've been everywhere, man.....I've been everywhere"
(To quote the late great Johnny Cash)
Dottie is pretty.....love her markings!
People need to stop preaching.
I have two dogs that I rescued: An 18 year old Papillon/Sheltie/Terrier mix and a 15 month old Puginese.
I also have MY dog, my 3 year old Boston Terrier.
People have the right to have a favorite breed (I love ALL dogs; I just happened to have a 50 year love affair with Bostons, ever since I met my first one at age 5). I don't think it's right to say stuff like "I don't care for this breed" or "I don't like that breed" on this board. Those remarks are hurtful to the lovers of those particular breeds.
This site is to enjoy photos of dogs and puppies, not to put other people's dogs down and to use for a soapbox.
Yes, it is noble to rescue, but let's not put people down who get their friends from other sources.
oh, what a cute puppy. And what a poet you are, dottie's parent!
Yes, dachshund behaviour is fun to watch.
Dottie looks just like our "Max", that has passed on. I love her, and I am so glad you rescued her from the pet store! She was on cloud nine to get out of the little wire crate, I'm sure. A dachshund is a little one with a very huge heart...and they think they are a Great Dane. They won't back down from anything. They are just so cute and loving!! God Bless you all on your journeys through life with love, health, and happiness.
What a great photo shoot. Dottie has the perfect poses for a Hollywood star. What a heartwarming story (poem) that
Dottie gets to travel everywhere with Mom.
Refer to DaveyDog's post. DaveDog is right - everyone has their own opinions. Some of those opinions could be considered rude. If comments are obnoxious or vulgar, lthen email DP to get them eliminated, otherwise let them be.
Hug, kisses and 11 biscuits to pretty little Dottie Matrix from Kansas.
what a sweetheart. I hear you when you take your baby with I hate being gone at work and not seeing my little wire ,so i make sure i come home and see her at lunch.I sure do love your little baby girl. Many great years together!!!
Little Miss Hollywood :-)
Dottie...your so cute! And I love your markings.....I'm not a wienie pup expert...is she what is called a dapple daschund? I've heard of them and the gorgeous markings......she is beautiful!!! Dottie, I hope you have a long fun healthy life....and a million doggie treats to you too!
What a sweet baby you have. I have four of 'em myself. They are such a funny breed. I know what you mean about the zoomies, all of mine do that daily and it never fails to crack me up. (to mash18020, i think three colors is piebald, two is dapple..not 100% sure tho...mine are piebald)
What a cutie pie you have there.
Kisses and biscuits!!!!!
I can see Dottie has a tough life, nothing to play with,no soft place to sleep, no doting human at her beck and call...I do love her coloring,it took me a moment to notice the colors.I have the feeling she's gonna be a happy dog from now on!
Dottie is just adorable! I love her coloring, and she looks like quite an adventurer (and quite a napper)!
Dottie is a REAL DOLL!
Don't you just love comming home to your dog? wheather it's a quick errand, or a Long Hard day at work...the greeting you get when you come home makes your whole bad day not seem to matter. You know you are "LOVED". I can't imagine life with out at least one dog.
I loved the poem and the adorable pup! I love this picture because of the size difference- Her toys are bigger than her!!
She is gorgeous, sweet, beautiful. Puppy kisses to you.
She reminds me a lot of Snoopy. He's another Doxie that was on this website. Look him up and look at his pictures on Flicker. Cute Cute and more cute. If you click on Dachshunds on the right hand side of this website he will pop up.
Love her forever. Be sure to check out the website Thelongandshortof it. It is absolutely the best.
My little girl is 14 now. Her little sweet girl face is all white now. She still has a lot of zip though. I didn't think I could love this much.
OOPS I goofed.
The address for that website is---
http://dachshundlove .blogsp...
Sorry about that. It is too good to not get the right one.
WOW! Dottie Matrix is soooo cute! our mini dapple dachshund looks exactly like dottie and is also on the daily puppy! They could be best friends!!!
Did you name her Dottie Matrix after the character on Reboot? I know her name was Dot Matrix, but it's close. Anyway, she's a real cutie!
TixandSam, you have encouraged me to comment for the first time, and I can guarantee no one is going to like it. Someone who buys from a pet store should absolutely feel guilty about where they get their dog. Petstores promote puppy mills, which promotes cruelty to dogs. I have come to the conclusion that anyone who truly loves dogs simply doesn't understand how the petstore industry works, or they wouldn't buy a dog there. Please take time to educate yourselves before putting down someone like goldenlover who subtley (and much more nicely than I am going to do) points out that buying dogs from petstores promotes cruelty. I'm not even saying rescue is always the way to go, but if you want a pure bred dog, get one from a reputable breeder, not a petstore.
http://www.stoppuppy mills.org
Despite all of that, she is a very cute dog, and appears to be very lucky in finding such a loving owner. You obviously love your dog very much, and I give you credit for treating her well! Enjoy her!
Also...sorry if I was harsh. But you might find it interesting to look into where she came from (if you have her breeder info), and you might just become impassioned about the puppymill topic too!
OMG DOTTIE MAYE IS JUST A BUNDLE OF LOVE. WHAT A PROFESSIONAL SNUGGLE MUFFIN. I LOVE HOLLYWOOD TOO, DOTTIE MAYE!!!!!!
Dottie, you're sleepy-baby picture is perfect for a rainy Monday morning!
Anti-PetStores: There ARE pet stores that do not get pups from mills. Few and far between, but there are. I know of one personally. The animals come from a controlled group of breeders, and every animal is thoroughly vetted by a licensed, practicing vet. The pets are guaranteed, with any vet bills covered by the store if any pet requires veterinary care.
My comment about goldenlover's broken record comment: it's the same message written for any dog that is not a rescued dog. That includes dogs purchased from registered breeders, hence my saying people shouldn't be made to feel irritated or guilty about how they got their dogs.
Dottie Matrix....you are beeeee-utiful...God Bless You, honey, with many years of happiness, great health, and much, much fun!!!!
Daushands are great!!! I never want to leave my two....!!!
Much love from Pittsburgh, Pa...Riley and Pisano(we are brothers)!
what a cutie! It makes me miss my dappled mini that I lost a year ago. I hope you get as much joy as I got for 17 great years!
TrixAndSam:
I bought my first Boston Terrier in 1990 from a pet shop. They did not deal with puppy mills.

He died at 15 in 2005.
Hey Anti-Pet Store,
Let's love Dottie for the precuios thing she is.
THEN we can talk about where her mommy and daddy are. I've found that some of the most fercious puppy mill fighters are those who fell into the trap, then turned against the industry who fooled them by such a delectible lure!!!
The industry sucks. Dottie is an amazing, beautiful, funny, and adventurous girl and I envy everyone who gets to spend even a moment in her company. She oozes happiness and definately put a huge smile on my face from the first google-eyed picture.
May you have many adventures with her. And keep those "where's Dottie" shots coming!
CBinID
Dottie Matrix,
You are just beautiful!
Dachsies are my favorite breed, they are so loving. I have a 4 year old mini, black and tan. I adore him.
Sounds like your mommy loves you very much. I hope you two enjoy each other for many years to come.
Dottie- what a CUTIE PIE you are! And your mommy is very clever, what a great poem! 11 Biscuits and plenty of love!
Dottie is Hollywood bound! Sounds like the two of you have a very full life! Keep the biscuits coming!!
Dottie, you're a star! Pretty girl! And you're so loved, your mummy wrote a poem in your honor. Too sweet! Lots of love and many happy years with your baby girl. :D
Dottie, you are such a pretty little puppy dog! I just love this picture of you resting your belly with all of your toys in your bed! You are just precious! I wish you many years of good health and lovins'
Those googley eyes are just adorable. I looooove little Dachshunds legs and their floppy ears and looong faces. They have the funniest little personalities. I've come across many where I live and at the dog park down the street. Your Dottie looks like she is living the life of a movie star! Have lots of fun with your bundle of happiness and joy. She looks like a great companion :)
PS I love the "say what?" expression she has on her face in this pic
Hmm...favorite picture isn't coming up...it's the one with the Hollywood sign. Whatevs.
I know that feeding the trolls will only make them stronger but I will try to be subtle in alluding to the fact that Dottie's mom has already gotten her sweet baby and it isn't prudent of anyone to make judgments about her or where she found her baby.
Dottie is a DOLL- She can be our grand-dog Jack's girlfriend. They look just alike but Jack has a blue eye.
Great idea- if you see a response you don't like on here, just click on their name and send the message directly to the person- dont post responses here!!!
Dottie is a precious baby and you will have many years of joy with her!
I think that since this discussion is public it might as well stay public. I have a story of two dogs, one a rescue, and one a pet store purchase. My daughter rescued a whippet mix, 7 months old. He was injured by a BB gun and was partially paralyzed. He adapted quite well although his back legs didn't work well. Long story short, he did okay for 3 years and
then developed an auto-immune disease. All of his mucous membranes
dried out and his eyes and mouth were really bad. We did everything we could but he became blind and his mouth was just eaten away and bleeding. We finally had to euthanize him. He was only 4 years old.
The pet store dog is an Italian Greyhound who has been the joy of our lives. The store had just gotten the puppies from a breeder and it turned out very well. I would not usually get a puppy that way, but this was a very unusual breed.
So there you have it, the mixed breed rescue, and the pet store pure breed. If the puppies are alive, someone should take them, no matter where they come from.
HIYA DOTTIE!!!!!
you are such a gorgeous pup, doxies usually are, my grandparents in denmark have 3 of them and they are gorgeous.
but this about you, not not them.
Your coat is beautiful, and you look like such a fun loving character.
your family are very lucky to have you indeed.
I don't know whether the picture is going to come out right but anyway, i picked this picture (i think its the right one...) because, even though you have described Dottie as ***quote***"She's bold and she's fearless and plenty of fun" this picture shows her being completely chilled out and enjoying the sunshine.
She is an absolute darling and as you have already found out, doxies are fantastic breeds and even though i myself do not have one, they would be definatley worth thinking about if you are going to get a dog ***tip of the day!!!***
Oh
by the way
I just thought i'd mention that i gave you the full 11 BISCUITS
AND
ALSO
that i found it really hard to pick my favourite picture because they are all just so perfect and she is picture perfect ***he he ***
NO
HONESTLY
i love her to pieces and she will be a loveable and friendly companion for the rest of your lives, may you have many happy memories together.
have fun
good luck
AND
enjoy it!

Dottie, whoever wrote your bio should be writing a book about you........ "Dottie, on Old Canyon Road." A mystery book, of course. Guaranteed to be a best seller because who could resist a photo of you on a book cover? Not me. Happy Trails Everyone with Dottie.
