Lola's mom says: About a month after we had to put our Jack Russell terrier to sleep, we were ready to find a new companion for our eight-year-old mixed-breed, Scout, and our two sons. We saw an ad in the newspaper for farm puppies. We made the call and were the first to see the litter of eight mixed-breed puppies. The mother was blue heeler, husky, and Australian shepherd, and the farmer and his wife thought that they had seen a golden retriever skulking around the farm at about the right time to be the father. The whole litter were all adorable, but something about Lola just melted our hearts. She seemed like she would be the perfect addition to our family. She has turned out to be a bit of a handful with her love for digging holes in our backyard, but she is extremely lovable and smart as a whip -- a little too smart for her own good sometimes. She has been the final piece of the puzzle to complete our family.
Lola is beautiful, what a find for you and for HER too. It is so nice to see that Scout accepts her too with love. Sounds as if there are a lot of patient times ahead for mum and dad with your digging Lola. Are you trying to dig to us in Australia???? Have years of fun all of you.
What an adorable puppy! Too bad the daily puppy wont let me choose a favorite tonight! Her "look to the right" is just awesome! Enjoy!
what a great puppy! thanks for sharing the pics. it's a highlight of my evening! she is a beautiful furry pup. I love that she's really smart and a bit machievious... I think I can see it in her pics.
OH she is ADORABLE!!!! I'm so glad Lola has such a wonderful family to grow old with. Kiss that furry face for me and spoil her!
Wow, she is beautiful, what a lovely concoction of breeds. Mixed breeds rule and good for you for not buying a pup from a breeder or puppymill, yipee!
Lola and Scout appear to be quick friends. I would let Lola dig as many holes as she wished. She is a beauty.
Oh she is really cute! You are very lucky to have her! Give her and Scout lots of kisses for me!
I am so in love with this puppy, it hurts. She is so precious and vulnerable looking. Lola and her protector melt my heart in this picture. Safe at last! She is my idea of the most wonderful puppy in the world... absolutely beautiful.
I'm sorry about the loss of your Jack. Lola will bring you lots of joy, she is lovely and sounds like she has a great personality...to keep you busy..
Lola is SO adorable! Her markings are beautiful, and that face is just too sweet! I hope we are someday given the opportunity to see what she looks like all grown up. :)
I love Lola! I think her mixed breed should be called "Farm Puppy" - seems to suit her fine. Her face is so much like our beloved beagle, I fell for her easily. I love her little mixed up nose and little tufts of hair that stick up by her ears. Perfect puppy! I know how sad it is to lose a pet - they are forever friends - and I know they can never be replaced, only remembered. But I'm so happy for you that Lola picked you to be her family. She will give you so much love and fun - not to even mention doggie kisses! What a wonderful life you will give each other. Congrats on your new baby!
Lovely puppy! There's a trick to stop her from digging holes, it worked with my black lab... Whenever she makes a hole, before covering it, put some of Lola's poop (I know, sounds disgusting, but it actually works) and then cover it. This way she will smell it and know it's her territory and won't dig again. It takes a while but it does work. Good luck! :)
What a lovely little girl! And I'm betting 'whatever Lola wants, Lola gets'! And I agree, I think Farm Dog needs to be registered with the AKC. Many happy years to all of you, and thanks to the person above who posted the 'cure' for digging, have to try that!
so cute!! he really looks like my corgi when he was a young puppy, minus the floppy ears, longer legs, and tail.. but the face looks like a corgi =)
I have fallen in love with your Lola! I love the pic of your two babies sleeping together. Look at those feet. ;-) She's going to be a big girl. I LOVE her!
Collar - $12; first vet bill - $135, food for a month $45, moments like these.....................priceless :). So adorable - have fun with your wonderful kids. :)
OK, here's the deal. Some puppies are so cute that it's impossible! Lola is one of those. What an adorable fluffball! I look at her, shake my head, and say to myself, "How can anything be this CUTE?" I'm happy for you all--Lola, Scout, and your whole family. Have a great time together!
Lola's ancestry should be fully investigated so that a new 'breed' can be made official! What a beautiful puppy!!!!
Friends forever. These two are great companions, I can tell. Lola is a gorgeous baby girl. Hugs and kisses.
This is such a sweet picture. Didn't take her long to bond with Scout, did it? Enjoy every minute with her and her buddy too.
Lola is a lucky lady - looks like she might have a Bernese(?) as a friend - we have one, they're great, too. Enjoy her!
okay - this is my favorite picture, but there wasn't a really good picture to go with my comment - which is Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl sorry - I reverted to my jr jigh years on the name - beautiful girl though - lots of warm fuzzies there!
She is so sweet. I have 8 dogs. When puppies they did dig, but very little now. I've found walking them is what they really want and digging is a compensating behavior to relieve bordom and anxiety. The nice things about holes is they can be filled up again. Many kisses to Lola... sweet, sweet puppy.
Whatever Lola wants, Lola should get!!!!! SHe is a gorgeous girl. Looks like she loves her big brother, too. Enjoy her.....
Would you look at this happy little smile on sleeping Lola's lips? Then, take a look at her chunky legs! (Retriever?) Pink puppy pads! She is lovely!
I thought of another Lola song. "The Kinks", L.O.L.A. that's three songs about Lola.
Best wishes to Lola and her best buddy Scout!
Wow....Lola is gorgeous! I especially love the picture of her and Scout. I would love to see Lola when she grows....I bet she will remain a beauty! Have fun with her!
Hi Everyone! I'm Lola's Mom. Thanks for all the great comments so far! Lola is now about 18 months old, so she's all grown-up. I will submit her picture to the 'Grown-Up Puppy' for all of you who wanted to see her grown-up. She looks pretty much the same but now she has the ever so cute 'one ear up and one ear down' look that just screams "I'm a mutt!". And a great 'mutt' she is! We all love her!
Lola sure is cute. This picture just touches my heart. Dogs are so accepting and loving. Us humans should learn from them. Many happy years together. 11 biscuits to Lola!
lola is as cute as a doll and as precious as gold!
have fun times in life with lola!
Wonderful pictures.
Enjoy every minute with both of your fur babies.
The piccy with them cuddling up is just priceless.
Wonderfull looking puppy. She has no sign of being
a retriver cross. I thing she is just a beautiful husky.
You are so lucky that you found Lola and she, you.
She is a beautiful girl. She looks like a perfect companion for your other dog. Hugs to both. :)
Elizabeth & Miss Katie =O)
Oh how I LOVE LOLA! But, have I not loved every single puppy I've seen on this site? I can't help it. My number one love in life is DOGS DOGS DOGS, no matter WHERE they come from, dogs are beautiful people!!! I love "puppy breath", "puppy feet", and cold wet noses! Who doesn't? We all do or we wouldn't come here every day to see these little beauties. Lola needs to be KISSED AND KISSED AND KISSED....and please give her a bunch of snugglehugs for me![/blue]
I forgot to say THANK YOU to "more" for the tip on digging. My Brittany has made my yard look like a giant slice of swiss cheese...and my Brittany before him did the same thing. As a result, I managed to break my ankle THREE YEARS IN A ROW...the same ankle and the break in the SAME SPOT, from stepping in the holes and having my foot suddenly bend and snap...(OUCH!), lololol....I will try this remedy; nothing else has worked. For every hole I fill, he digs two more, hahaha!.
Mutts rule!
She's an awesome pup! :D
Ps. I sure hope that they don't pass that law where you have to have to buy a license to breed dogs, and that you can only have purebreds... where'd the world be without mutts like Lola :?: :!:
i looked at the daily puppy today
and she just took my breath away
her name is lola L O L A lola
she looked at me with those big brown eyes
and to my surprise she was just the right size
little lola L O L A lola...etc...
Lola is a beautiful girl. She looks like a real sweetheart. May you have many wonderful years with her.
Sandra, that remedy is the only thing that worked for my friends with a German Shepherd who had the same problem.
As for Lola, I love her! What a fluffball!
OMIGAWSH ADORABLE!!! She's got the cutest widdle wuvable face! She looks so fluffy! You're a lucky owner! 11 biscuits!
Gorgeous! What a precious like ball of snuggle-able fluff. So sweet. Would love to see those picks of her's with the one ear up, one down. Nothing cuter.
What a beautiful dog! All of her pictures are precious but the one of Lola with her big brother brings back memories of how my first Lab bonded with his baby sister when he was 9-1/2 and she 6 months. Lots of hugs, belly rubs and kisses to Lola and some for her brother too.
The hint for the digging was clever. My first Lab dug holes all over and there was never enough dirt to refill them. He eventually stopped digging.
Oops - forgot the bones - give each 11.
Lola is a little cutie! I love how fluffy she is... It makes me just want to pick her up and cuddle... Many snuggles are sent her way!
Lola is a little PUP PUP treasure. Love her, love her, love her - she will make your life happier and more enriched than any amount of money or status or ....... well you get my drift. I am assured with your statement of "she had the last piece of the puzzle for our family" that she is, in fact, a very lucky Lola. Let us all hope that all of the Lola's in the world can find a family as fine as yours.
Best to you all.
OMG - she is too cute. Pretty amazing, considering she is a mixed breed, she reminds me so very much of my golden retriever - the same little body and face and those eyes. I would love to have another dog just like her. Enjoy the pup and am sure you will have years of happiness and blackmail from that sweet girl.

What is it about stinky shoes that make dogs want to sleep around them, or chew them? Anyway, LOLA is PRECIOUS! Many belly rubs and biscuits, Lola.
Gorgeous and sweet pup!
I've heard that giving diggers a kiddie pool full of dirt to dig in helps with the pot-holed yard problem. I don't know if it works because my dogs don't stay outside too long because they are delicate flowers (HA!) and we live in HOUSTON! Too hot for my babies.
Lola is a beauty! I love the picture of she and Scout. She snuggles right up next to him doesn't she? That girl ain't scared. What a precious twosome and how lucky are you?
your little fur ball is sooooo cute!!! odd combination of breeds but those are usually the cutest!!! i have a poodle, chiuahuah and she had puppies with a lab and they are soooo cute!!! good luck and her eyes and nose just melt in my heart!!!

what a beauty you are lola.
she is just too cute for words really.
I love how dogs just accept one another like Scout did with Lola.
I love seeing older dogs accepting new dogs and becoming a pack together, and taking care of one another. I just love that about animals. I can't wait to see her when she gets older. I bet she does not change.
best of luck
What an adorable fuzzball! She looks like she's going to be a big dog . . . . absolutely love those paws! Looking forward to grownup pictures
Way too funny-she's asking (which I ask Abe all the time)-----
"DIDJAFART???!!!"
What an adorable little girl you have!
MERRY XMAS!! Lola is a cutsie little pie!! I would love to just munch her up!! It looks like she is very happy with you and you must be too!! Such a cutie!! have great years to come with her and lots of biscuits!!
What a doll! And this picture is priceless! Congrats!
