Lucy's friend says: This is Lucy the puggle. She is half pug and half beagle. Lucy is extremely playful and affectionate and has an infinite amount of energy! She can also be quite a rascal and loves to chew on anything she can find. These photos were taken in the first few days we had her.

Awwww! I have a special place in my heart for puggles since I have one of my own! I sure do know what you mean about the infinite amount of energy, but cuddling with my puggle definitely makes up for all the mischevious behavior. Enjoy!

As a proud mama of two beagles, I find it hard to understand why anyone would mess up a perfectly good beag with pugblood unless it was an accident, but Lucy is indeed cute.
And I have to concur on the swollen belly- she's either being fed way too much or she has worms.
Beagles are pigs. You've gotta watch how much food you allow them to have!

My very 1st and still favorite dog is a pug and i have a very special bond with him.I also like beagles and think that both is a perfect dog!You are very lucky!!!I gave her 11 biscuits and she deserves no less!!!

The swollen belly is most likely just over-feeding. Beagles are especially known to having no sense of fullness after eating. You could feed them for hours on end, and they would continue to eat. I love the mix between a pug and a beagle. Although I see many cases in my Veterinary Clinic of breathing problems with this breed, as which follows behind the Pug's bloodline, they seem quite healthy. In my opinion, mixing a Beagle with a Pug isn't something I like to encourage, because mixing 2 purebred dogs of totally different features and seperate health problems can be extremely costly, and sometimes painful for the dog.
This is defently a cutie though.

I never said anything to "spoil" your opinions of these dogs. There were many previous comments about her swollen belly, and as a retired Vet of 17 years, I gave my advice and opinion. If you feel that you need to swear to make yourself feel and sound bad, than YOU get a life.
And when you are certified in a field regarding animals, they are no longer 'OPINIONS'. Many people have already stated that Beagles are known to over-eat. And yes, this is a darling puppy, and I stated that.

she looks so much like my own when she was a pup. she just hit a year in october, and i'm still waiting for some of the energy to settle down! puggles are a handful (i've had two) but they have such personality and are very social. sometimes i feel a little guilty about having a "designer" dog (i've vowed to adopt a rescue for my next dog) but i wouldn't trade my puggle for anything. i hope you enjoy yours as much as i do mine.
