pugs are my dogs. we are on our third one - her name is peanut. i didn't want another one after we lost our male because we were so attached, but my husband found peanut and i couldn't say no. she rules the house and i swear she is our male reincarnated. pugs have the best personalities.

Sep 8, 2006 Lover and Expert of Dogs

Although I do not agree with the purchase and support of breeding dogs, this is a gorgeous pug. Yet, I have personally examined many gorgeous Pugs that are thrown out of windows, and abandoned to be left as shelter dogs, that need homes. Many Pugs are left abandoned in shelters because of the medical expenses that it costs to own a short snouted animal. Now, for this puppy, and the rest of the litter, that has been born and will be adopted out, that is at least 4 or 5 familes that could have rescued 4 or 5 Pugs that actually need a home. I think it is a shame, and I would feel more pride in knowing that I rescued a homeless animal, than supported a breeder.

That is just my opinion as a certified Veterinarian.

Beautiful baby!!
But I agree with the comment above- please don't buy from breeders. Many do a great job- but until the abuse stops and the shelters are empty, we need to help save all the beautiful pugs ( and their friends) that are already in the world.

Sep 9, 2006 pugz_r_2_cute!

I apsoloutely ADORE pugs!!!You have a super cute one and you are very lucky!

I appreciate the thought-provoking comments from Lover and Expert. But also want to say that I am inspired by the great black and white photos of Maggie to do some portraits of my own babies. Great shots and of course you love her and will have these treasured images forever.

my nabor has a pug named Bella and she looks exzagly alike.

Sep 9, 2006 renee

She is simply precious. My mother just passed a few monthes ago and she had four little pugs. They brought her so much joy and love. We originally got our male Bruce from a rescue shelter. He was a saint. My mother worked at a nursing home and he would go to work with her and cher up patients. He even sat with people when they were dying. Max our little male. Did the same for my mother when she fell ill with CHF. You definately have found a friend for life in a pug.

Absolutely hilarious, Jamie....

Sep 12, 2006 jess_hanson

Just a question, but wouldn't you risk getting a dog with more health problems by not getting a pup from a reputable breader? There is nothing wrong with adopting, I adopted 3 cats, but from the information I have read about dogs, that it is best to go with a well known breader. Maybe that is cause I do most of my reading on Boxers... who knows! Beautiful puppy by the way!!

Sep 12, 2006 Bridget

Oh I just love that you did these pictures in black and white. She is so cute!

Well worth the wait, I love pugs. <3

Oct 25, 2006 puglover

What a beautiful pug. I have two myself and they would just love your little Maggie!!!!!

Coming from a family of pug breeders, I just have to say that the problem of unwanted dogs does not come from responsible breeders, it is because of puppy mills, irresposable breeders, and people who just don't research before choosing a dog. We, as many other breeders, breed pugs to improve the breed, and take the sale of our babies very seriously. We make sure each pup goes to great homes, but just in case we make sure that the new owner will return the pup to us if need be by refunding half of the price. Also as we have more people wanting puppies than actual pups, we reccomend to each that the check out the poud and the several pug rescues in our part of the us.

Jul 3, 2007 Suki's Mom

Maggie! What a cutie! I just took home my second pug, Suki. She's eight weeks on Thursday. I adopted my first pug, Piggy Loo, who had many health issues and passed away three years ago at the ripe old age of 14. Over the past 15 years or so my family and I have rescued five dogs, and Suki is our first puppy. I think that any true dog lover understands the importance of adopting or rescuing pups in need, but I can say that I am equally as proud of my baby Suki as I have been with all of my rescues. They're all so special!

Pugs rule!

I love all dogs, and most of my cards feature all breeds of dogs and cats. I particularly love Pugs as they are the little clowns of the dog world and I seem to use that breed the most in my cards as they have so much personality it bursts out all over them. I had one years ago and I still miss my Nuggie the Puggie! I brought one to my parent's 10 years ago and he was 4 months old. My mom recently passed away, and Buzz would take naps with her every day, now, he does not leave my dad's side 'cause he's not about to lose him too! My son is in pre med and has a Pug, Mugs. Mugs gets the best of care and I send many treats and fun things to my precious granddog. I love the photos of Maggie and you should enter them in a contest, she is most precious! By the way, we didn't have big medical problems with our Pugs, they were pretty healthy and happy, right to the end! Enjoy and love her always!!! P.S. If you get a chance, check out Odie, the Pug that says I LOVE YOU, it is awesome!

Love the black & white pictures...well just one in color would have been great. Can't get enough pictures of our precious pugs!

Sep 29, 2007 bopeep

I would love to see Maggie now. She is beautiful. My first Pug I got in 1963 from a pet store (before the scandals of puppy mills were revealed). My second Pug was rescued from an abusive situation. My black Pug was from a one time breeder and my current Pug is a rescue. They definitely are clowns, except for my current Pug who had been crated for up to 16 hours a day while his owners were away. He is not the typical Pug, but I love him. Hugs and kisses to Maggie.
