Obie the Golden Retriever
Obie's mom says: Obie was born on April 22, 2007. I got Obie from a breeder in New Jersey. He is such a sweet, handsome boy & gets noticed wherever we go. Obie currently has a girlfriend (Lucy - another Golden who is a month younger than him) he is smitten with & they have regular play dates. Obie loves kids & when he sees a yellow school bus driving in our neighborhood, he runs toward it knowing children will be coming off it. Obie's love for children is one of the most endearing things about him! I always read that Goldens love kids but didn't realize how true this was until I got Obie. Obie knows how to sit, stay, lay down (all with just hand signals) & play dead when I shoot him with my imaginary gun (my index finger) & say "BANG" It always gets a good laugh from people when he does this trick. I'm currently teaching him to "Take A Bow" but he still needs more practice before he has this trick down. Obie is such a delight & I'm so fortunate he came into my life!

all the Goldens I have known have always had such a sweet laid back gentle personality which makes for a great family addition... enjoy your lil man!

LOVE HIM!! Goldens will for ever and always be my absolute favorite dog breed. I have a golden currently and absolutely adore her. And when I was younger we had a yellow lab/ golden mix, so I have basically always had golden in my life.
THEY MAKE THE CUTEST PUPPIES!! And Obie is no exception =] Love him, and give him lots of ear scratchies for me!

My Dakota loves to eat sticks... and yes i mean eat... we don't really know what happens to a lot of the stick so we assume she eats it... but she always leaves tell tale stick piles of where she was chewing... but don't worry, it never hurt her, she just loves sticks!
Okay sorry, I've rambled enough... I blame my love for Goldens though =]

Goldens are the best! They always look like they are smiling. I grew up with Kelly, she purred, the best dog ever! I can't wait to get another Golden someday.

Obie is one beautiful boy. I understand from friends who have goldens, that they are, indeed, simply perfect ... and that's all! To our constant, goldenlover, my friend Mary has a rescue goldie. Mary has stated, that when her doggie came home she hid in the guest room for a week and when she came out, she was a perfect dog and has stayed that way all her life. Every time she tells me the story, it makes me laugh. There is no question, however, that her Brandy is a perfect doggie! Aren't they all?? I love Obie's description. Obie is precious! There is nothing cuter than a fluffy golden puppy. My golden is also obsessed with kids -- she sits by the window and waits for the neighbor kids to get home from school, then whines to be let out to play with them.

What a beautiful dog your Obie is. I'm a "little" dog person myself, but if ever I was to have a "big" dog - it would be a Golden. They have such a sweet and peaceful manner about them - I've never seen one who didn't.

I really wish I could enjoy puppy pictures without having to read a rescue "quote" every time. Some people can't "rescue", for many reasons.

Obie takes nothing but precious pictures! It's hard to find a favorite - he is simply gorgeous and he sounds like he has the sweetest disposition. I would love to have a Golden one day... they are so smart, loving and loyal. I wish you the happiest of times with this special boy!

I agree with "bordercrazed" on both counts. The rescue quotes are annoying. Let people get the dogs THEY choose and leave them alone. It's a shame that the same person keeps using these puppy's special day to preach. Enough already, get off your soapbox, we get the point! STOP.

Obie is one really handsome pup. I will be seeing two Goldens in a couple of weeks when my Missy visits Bev, her groomer. Bev has two Goldens who are just as friendly as can be. They are there to greet you if you want. They sense who wants to give them attention; otherwise they are quiet. Obie have many happy play dates with Lucy and of course your family. Obie looks like my late Foster. I rescued him at five & he passed in June at 14. If you have 1/8 of the love from Obie that I got from Foster you are truly blessed. I wish you all the love in the world & all the biscuits your tummy can take.

WOW! What a fantastic animal! I too have a goldie (HARLEY) and he's given me over 12 yrs. of joy, of the purest sort. Take good care of Obie and you too will reap the benefit of a loving, loyal companion for years and years. My Harley is in puppy shape!
