Otis the Great Dane
Otis is our newest addition! He's definitely a handful, but that's exactly what we expected. His favorite things to do are playing on the floor with all toys at once for hours on end, ripping the stuffing out and stealing the bones right out of his best friend, Littlefoot's, mouth. He loves a million walks a day to meet as many humans and dogs as he can. He's been doing really well with potty training - he's almost got it down at 10 1/2 weeks old. He loves to give kisses and is a big talker when he doesn't think you're listening. He's learned to sit and shake without much coaching, too! Otis will soon be a very big boy, just like his best friend. We can't wait to see who will be the biggest! He is definitely a goofy character - I can't seem to capture enough pictures!

Otis, you are a hansom boy. I don't normally like Great Danes, but there are 4 of them living in the same neighbor hood I live in and they are just HUGE babies, they are so cute when they play, and they play for hours at a time. You are going to get rather large, but are always going to be a little puppy at heart. I wish you and your family many happy years together, and millions of cookies. OH and lots and lots of belly rubs.

You have a very lovable and precious little pup there. Have you tried a Martingale collar yet and, maybe, a harness (Sensa-tion Harness with front ring). They both work just as well as those painful chain collars but cannot do any major damage to the dog's throat. Enjoy that gorgeous fellow, Danes are wonderful dogs.

What a beautiful dog. I have a 9 and 1/2 month old great dane as well and seeing Otis reminds me of how mine used to look. How exciting for you. He's absolutely gorgeous!!!

Beautiful pup. I had a harlequin dane female. She was my sweet Harley Josephine. There will never be another one like her. Much like Otis but 1 blu and 1 brown eye. Many happy years with both your babies! Biscuits and tummy rubs to both. Give them a kiss for me PLEASE!
Otis is stunning. I love Great Danes, they are gentle giants. Otis photographs beautifully. A great book/true story to read which is about a man and his Great Dane.The book is called Amazing Gracie, you won't put it down. A must read for any dog lover. Sasha and Sebastian's Mom

Just a comment for 99dogs: what Otis is wearing IS a Martingale collar. A choke chain has only one loop while a Martingale, as pictured here, has two thus limiting the amount of possible constriction of the neck. I volunteer at the Humane Society and while we generally use Gentle Leaders, dogs whose heads cannot fit a Gentle Leader or who are headshy receive a Martingale. Most dogs prefer them to the Gentle Leader and if it is fit correctly it should not hurt them.
Pictures are all beautiful but this is my favorite, Otis you look very regal here, you are a most handsome boy. I can't imagine how big you are going to get. Beautiful eyes!!!

"I'm sweet and innocent, wasn't me!" SOoo cute ! I just got engaged and my fiance promised we could get a Dane for 'our' first pet together! I was raising/training my son's Dobie for 18 months and miss him so much! I do think a Dane will be easier. Much happiness together !
