Aww, he is beautiful. He is going to be the most loyal companion. He will have the adorable face of a Rottie, the big licks and love of a Pit Bull, and the loyalty of a Shepherd, not to mention the fact that since he is rescued, he will show you more compassion than ANY puppy mill pup, or Pet Store pup could ever give you and your family.

All I can see is thank you! It is quite refreshing to see rescues and not the poor over-breds that are continuing to pop up on the Daily Puppy.

Thanks again, Shelby is now about 70 pounds!! He is big and I don't think he knows how big he is. Still everyday he is waiting for me to come home and greets me with LOTS of kisses. My husband found out about him shortly after we found out we would not be able to have children, so he made all the arrangments while I was recovering from a major surgery and about 3 weeks later we were able to bring him home!! He has made our lives so full, and he seems to know if I am not feeling well... he just cuddles up to me and licks (kisses) my face!! Thanks again to everyone for voting for him!!! Shelby looks like such a sweetheart. I also have a rottie mix and he has the same alarm clock in his head, except his doesn't go off until 6am. He also loves snuggling, even though he is a very big dog. This is a very different dog experience from any I have had before - could be the rottweiler genetics. I am so happy that this precious puppy came into your lives.

I hvae a dog like this but he is a rhodesian Ridgeback/Mountain Cur mix and he looked exactly like that as a pup. So he might even be part of those breeds. But he is adorable!!!

Thank you again and again... He is just so much fun! The weather here has started to get cool and now he is snuggling under the blankets with my husband and I in bed!! I love it because he helps keep me warm too. Thank you all agian for your comments on Shelby!

Just an update, Shelby is doing just great, still eating shoes (cannote get him to break the habit!!) He LOVES water and chases the sprinkler around!! He has a girlfriend, Chloe, she lives next door - she is a St. Bernard!!! Thanks for all your votes!

My 5 year old, Bruno (same mix as Shelby) passed away suddelny, two nights ago. He was in good health (except for a life threatening bout of pneumonia & Parvo as a VERY young puppy. He was a rescue who we called "Our Survivor" and we did know that it was possible that these illnesses will have shortened his life. However, it happened with no warning and it has sent our into shock!!!!
Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I was looking at doggy pictures when I came across Shelby! Her pictures remind me so much of Bruno when he was a pup (although he was brindle). Its those puppy dog eyes and the expression on her face that make me think of Bruno. We ALL miss him so much, but for one moment, I felt okay. Thank you for sharing these pictures...I needed to see them today!

When I saw Shelby I couldn't believe how much she looks like my puppy , Nala (except that my puppy has stripes like a tiger). My puppy is also a rott/pit mix; born July 12,2007. From what you said about her it sounds like they also have the same personality. I can't believe how lovable she is!
