Tess's parents say: Tess is a very bright little girl who loved puppy kindergarten and performed well in a class of large puppies. She loves to learn new tricks, play ball, and chase and catch Frisbees, although she does this primarily for rewards -- that's how she gets half of her dog food. We waited until we were retired to get a dog and were lucky to find such a great companion. She keeps us busy but is not at all difficult to have around. Her only "flaw" is that she loves everyone and is terribly anxious to meet anyone, whether dog lovers or not. Her mother was a golden retriever and her father was a miniature poodle. Tess is a very affectionate and social "dood" who can't get enough squirrel and rabbit chasing into her day. She answers to lots of names: Tessie, Tessie Bear, Bear, and Dog.
What a cutie you are Tess. Your face does look like a poodle and I just love your colour. Enjoy life
oh my goodness. Tess is so cute I'm starting to rethink my "Border Collies only" philosophy.... I have always liked poodles though. I had a toy poodle when I was a kid.
Your little Tess is so cute!!! You are both lucky you have found each other! it was hard to pick only one photos, she looks adorable in all of them!
I'm not 100% convinced that you've got a real dog there. I think you might have purchased a living teddy bear. I feel you've had the adorable wool pulled over your eyes as well, you might consider talking to the breeder. She's just too darn cute!
I've been thinking of a golden doodle, the mini is oh so adorable! Retirement is assuredly full of fun with Tess! Congrats to you all
She's so sweet! We are waiting till we retire to get our next puppy. That way we can be his or her 24/7/365 companion!
Too bad you've missed out all those years not giving a home to needy pound puppy. Dogs have the minds and emotions of 4- year-olds. Tess seems very intelligent. Good Luck and God Bless for adopting a Heinz 57.
With either the groomed or wild and crazy hair look, Tess is a little doll. Happy retirement with your prescious little girl. Hugs and kisses.
Kisses to this precious pup. I had a cockapoo that was the smartest, best dog I have had so far. She lived to be 17 and I miss her. May you have the same good fortune wit Tess!
AHHHHHHH who mush cutier can she get? you should have names her SWEET THANG !!!!!! you are lucky to be blessed with such a sweet little girl. Love her for all of us.
WOW! another ball of love fur! :)
If this puppy isn't pure love, I don't know what is!
a lotsa cookies... :):):)
What an adorable little Tessiebear. I can't imagine a better pal to spend retirement with. I'm sure you'll have lots of time to spoil her rotten. Enjoy many years of loving fun with her!
There are not enough biscuts for her!
She is just adorable. She reminds me of my pup when he was a puppy. (he's 13 now). He's a "La-Poo-Pom", Lhasa Apso - Poodle - Pomeranian mix.
Oh My GOODNESS!! One perfect puppy after another this week!! I could just look at her pictures all day! I love love love her coat!!
Congrats on rewarding yourself a puppy as a retirement gift. Ingenious! Tess will no doubt keep your spirits light and your days full of fun and love. She is absolutely adorable!
A full box of biscuits to you all!
She's going to keep your retirement years even more active than your working ones, I'm sure! She's a beauty, and many years of happiness to all!
Re the comment (well-meant, I know) of your not sharing your love with a pup before -- I think you were very wise to wait until you knew you had the time to lavish on a dog. Too many people get pets and don't think about the many hours per day that pet will be left alone while they are at work. Or they find the pet is 'too much trouble', which is how so many end up in shelters and rescues in the first place.
Now you have a lovely little angel to share your life with -- enjoy each other to the max!
It seems anything with a Poodle mixed in, is so cute. I really love Tess also. So cute and going to be kinda small it looks like, I like that too. Many loving years together. Enjoy your retirement. You are lucky to be able to retire. (O:
Tess looks like you made her at the "Build-A-Bear Workshop" and stuffed her lightly so she'd be a little bit floppy. What a doll - oh - I guess that's a pun with the Build-A-Bear comment!! What a great way to retire!

Tess is just too precious! She reminds me of my "Sabrina" who was a cockapoo..how I loved and miss her! You will have beautiful years together! My husband and I have always had dogs, BUT we made sure we worked opposite shifts so that they would never be alone. He worked nights and I worked days so that one of us was always home with 'the kids". You were very wise to wait till retirement as to leave a dog alone all day is not a good idea; especially when they're young pups. That is why so many get "thrown away", once the "novelty" wears off. Three cheers for you and Tess! Give her tons of kisses and hugs for me!
Very Very Cute! What a combination! Would love to see what she looks like when full grown. Absolutely precious.
I had no idea there was a miniature version of the doodle cross! Tess is a great beauty, and I am sure she will give you many years of happiness...
What a sweetheart! Tess looks like she has a personality to beat all!! Lots of hugs & kisses here - she'll be great fun for your retirement. Enjoy!
My MaggieSmithMacKenzie is a Havanese, which means half poodle. There is something wonderful about that because she is like Tess - bright, quick learner and her own special brand of mischief. Enjoy each day. They are treasures. Good choice in family, Tess.
I could look at pictures of Tess all day long. She has put a big smile on my face today. She's a lucky pup pup to have such a wonderful family. Live long, play hard, stay healthy. xoxoo
WAY TOO PRECIOUS! I'm not typically a small dog fan, but this little one is ADORABLE!
She looks just like a little stuffed animal! TOO SWEET!
She is so cute! She looks like a little teddybear to me, If I didn't she was a dog I'd have thought she wasn't real!
Nooo waaay !!! This baby is too cute :) I hope that you ALL have a healthy, happy life together !!! She looks SOOO sweet :)
Hug & squeeze her for me.
Macy, Charlie, & Tiger's mom
she sure is cute.
Although I have to giggle at the thought of a mini poodle having a go with a big ol' golden retriever. heheh
Sorry gang, can't help myself...too funny a thought!
I just love Tess. How cute is too cute? It's Tess. I'd love to see pictures of her when she's full grown. I love all the pictures.
Awwwww.....Tessie Bear! What a cutie pie! Is she real? That's it, I'm in love! She looks like a ham! Bundles and bundles of love! Had no idea there was a mini golden doodle! Cute combo!
I had to check this one out again. I love Tess and am definitely wanting a GoldenDoodle. She looks much more cuddly than my Great Dane. I will always have her, of course, but maybe a little brother or sister Doodle. Love this Tess.
Elizabeth and Miss Katie =O)
Too cute for words!!!She is one of the cutest puppies I've seen so far on this site!!!!
GORGEOUS...Before we had our Tess (lab) we had Rocky who was an apricot toy poodle... both have brought us immense pleasure and fun times, I'm sure your Tess will do the same!!
What a cutie you are Tess! We have a giant Goldendoodle whose name is Albert. I bet he would like to play with you! Have fun!
Tess is so cute- where can I find a dog like that. i want her or really its more like I need her. Thanks to anyone who can help.
Tess is just too cute. Best photo of a puppy for a long while. Such a cuddle bunny! Lots of love for her. She will fill up your days no end.
This has got to be one of the sweetest faces I have ever seen. I just wanna give her kisses. You deserve a bunch of biscuits!!!!
Everyone has covered what I want to say. Tess is beyond cute. How do you describe her really? There are no words. She almost looks fake, like a stuffed teddy bear. And to choose a favorite picture of this little doll is impossible. They are all my favorite.
My parents got a yellow lab puppy when they retired. He is a year old now and they looooove him soooo much. He is so spoiled but we love him and can't imagine life without him.
I really think Tess is one of the cutest I have seen on here.
Best of luck and give her a big kiss on the nose for me.
Love her name too.
Tessie, you are simply adorable! I cried when I saw your pictures! I just love your little face, it is full of character and love. I know your Mom will take very good care of you and give you plenty of lovins'!
I just LOOOOOOOVE this puppy. Just too beautiful for words. Have great fun and make lots of memories. Many belly rubs, beautiful Tess.

It seems like Tess will be the best thing of your retirement and will keep you forever "young." Have to agree that she looks like a teddy because how could something so alive, look so dreamy while asleep? Wish there was a way to track her progress as she grows and grows and grows and grows. I can only imagine her becoming more adorable. Enjoy your little dividend.
good pic, the lighting is super good and i hope you take more pics in the future, be seeing you around =)
What a BEAUTY!!!! Glad to be first! A million biscuits!
