We adopted Toad so our Vizsla, Turkey, would have a playmate. He came from a very large family and missed having a constant canine companion. We started searching on Petfinder.com for availiable puppies at local shelters. We searched for about two or three weeks and then we found Toad's picture. She was six weeks old and in a shelter in Tennessee. When we read that she was scheduled for euthanasia because of a lack of space, we knew we had to rescue her. She has been a great addition to our family; she and Turkey absolutely adore each other. She is a hilarious little dog. When she gets excited, she makes crazy hyena sounds. Sometimes we think she is part hyena!
She's very beautiful with unusual markings. God bless yr soul for giving her a new lease of life.Give her tummy rubs for me.Kudos to Turkey for having found a lovely baby sister!

She is absolutely gorgeous! What beautiful markings! That is awesome that you rescued her. I pray that you have many years of joy with Toad. BTW what a great name!
Good Karma to you for saving litte Toad. Its so sad that innocent little doggies die every hour due to over-crowding. I'm so happy this one was saved. Now, I love her cute little face and multi-color look. She does look like a hyena (but way cuter)!
this pix totally ROCKS!!! he's SO ADORABLE, and i LOVE his colors n markings! thank you so much for rescuing him :D
I could just eat him up!! I love his markings!! And I LOVE dogs that love to swim. Thank you for sharing. What a doll!!
I love this shot. I call it a "I'm being real good so please let me go" pose. Toad looks like an absolute love, and anyone can see that she and Turkey just make your home complete. May you have many happy years to love each other!
Thank you thank you so much for saving her she is so cute. Toad and Turkey look so good 2gether. Wishing u many years of love.
I'm going to make two notes because I don't know how to attach two photos. At my house, we refer to this pose as "mugwumpin'". Don't ask why 'cause we don't know ... it just is. Yesterday's puppy had a mugwumpin' pose, too. It is an irresistible doggie pose.
Toad, it is this kind of photo that always lures me in and wins my heart! I call it the "innocent dog look". It appears that all dogs have it down! All your pictures are cute and I am so happy for your rescue! You are just precious!!! :) From Toronto
This is the photo that must put a smile on the face of every person who sees it! Both doggies are perfect ... aren't they all ... and their delight in their life and each other just shines through. Bless Toad and Turkey; bless 'em all! Ontario, Canada
She's adorable! I have no idea how to add a picture, but the one of her and Turkey looking so proud of their sticks, like a couple of bookends, just made my day.
She is beautiful. Bless you for the shelter rescue. We have 3 shelter rescue dogs in our family and 2 cats. A favorite picture is hard to chose.
It's hard to pick one picture because they're all great and she's so beautiful, but this one just cracks me up! It's impossible to imagine that such a beautiful and loving creature was so close to being put down. I'm so glad that instead she found a wonderful home and family, and I hope you all have many happy and healthy years together.
AWWWWWWWWW, he is just the cutest little thing! How wonderful of you to save him. I have a mini Aussie who has many of the same intelligent expressions. I always wonder what she's thinking. Bet Toad will bring you MANY MANY years of happiness.
What a wonderful find! She is just a real beauty and I love love love her expression in this photo - your other dog, Turkey, seems quit pleased with her. I have a heeler mix also - they are just wonderful - smart, very loving and very loyal. Your Toad is marvellous!!! (how come such funny names? :-)
I think I'm in Love!!! What a precious baby!! It's wonderful you rescued her. All of my animals, except one of them are rescues. Turkey and Toad are the cutest names, and it fits them well. A-Million-Bicuits to ya'll!!!!

Look at me - I have my very own stick. This picture is priceless, a poster picture for sure. Toad and Turkey were just meant for each other. Hugs, kisses and a box of biscuits from Kansas.
Oh she is gorgeous I love her colouring, she looks like she would be a very fun dog. She is definitely a cutie!!
It was hard topick a favorite photo but this one cracked me up. What a darling Toad - thank goodness you were there to rescue this little sweetheart.
How on earth did you get them to both pose like this at the same time? What an absolutely adorable pair!!! And congratulations on rescuing that most gorgeous little girl! I have two rescues myself (1 chi & 1 chi mix). Many, many happy, healthy years together!
to think someone wanted to put down such an adorable little dog. Thanks for rescuing her! I'm sure you'll be very happy together.
That is officially one of the cutest puppies I have ever seen. Her markings are gorgeous. ADORABLE! Eleven biscuits!
Oh how sweet they look together. This really put a a smile on my face this a.m. They are really beautiful dogs. Lots of hugs and biscuits. = )
OMG i love this dog, it is truly not lying, the cutest dog i have ever seen, and im a professional dog walker, so i have seen a lot of dogs, but toad is the cutest
Awww, what a happy pair! God bless you for rescuing this little girl! Toad seems a strange name for such a cutie, but then who am I who names her animal Biscuit?
Has anyone taken a look at the View Profile link for Toad? It's titled: Toad, a.k.a. Toader-the-Motor-Boater! I LOVE sing-song goofy names for pups. (My little Trixie is a.k.a "Trixie Doodle, Not a Poodle, I'm a Bichon!" and Sammy often goes by "Samma-Lamma-Ding-Dong" because he's so goofy.) Thanks for sharing Toad and Turkey; they're spectacular.
Love this picture - what a couple of hams! One of the many things I love about dogs is that they could care less about looking "cool." Being goofy is just fine with them. Both are beautiful!
Aaack! I am dead from the cuteness! Toad is so adorable, and so unique! And all the pictures are just great--they are all my favorite! I chose this one because of the expression on her face and how you can see that her blurry tail must have been wagging. :o) Toad and Turkey are both beautiful!
This is one of the cutest pictures I have seen! I am so glad that you rescued this adorable little dog!
Nuthin' like a dip in the lake on a warm day. Ahhh...Cutie Patootie! Belly rubs for her and her sister!
It was hard to choose a picture. This little girl is too cute and quite beautiful besides and her partner in crime as pictured here, is quite beautiful also. These are two treasures.
I was lucky to have a cattle mix Aussie for 16 loving years. I hope she will look at you with this same adoration forever. You are both blessed. (Turkey too!) And hold on, because she's smart - they are fast learners. Toad, you are adorable and so is Turkey. A boxload of biscuits for each of you. ^..^
Oh, what a beautiful girl! Got to love those unique mixed breeds. :) I love how her ears are pricked forward in this photo.
