Toad the Cattle Dog Mix
We adopted Toad so our Vizsla, Turkey, would have a playmate. He came from a very large family and missed having a constant canine companion. We started searching on Petfinder.com for availiable puppies at local shelters. We searched for about two or three weeks and then we found Toad's picture. She was six weeks old and in a shelter in Tennessee. When we read that she was scheduled for euthanasia because of a lack of space, we knew we had to rescue her. She has been a great addition to our family; she and Turkey absolutely adore each other. She is a hilarious little dog. When she gets excited, she makes crazy hyena sounds. Sometimes we think she is part hyena!
She's very beautiful with unusual markings. God bless yr soul for giving her a new lease of life.Give her tummy rubs for me.Kudos to Turkey for having found a lovely baby sister!

Oh I just LOVE Vizsla's!!! They're so gorgeous especially yours!!! My husband and I almost got one, but then decided on a Dalmatian :P Toad is such a cutie! What a great couple of dogs you have!

I'm going to make two notes because I don't know how to attach two photos. At my house, we refer to this pose as "mugwumpin'". Don't ask why 'cause we don't know ... it just is. Yesterday's puppy had a mugwumpin' pose, too. It is an irresistible doggie pose.

She is beautiful. Bless you for the shelter rescue. We have 3 shelter rescue dogs in our family and 2 cats. A favorite picture is hard to chose.
It's hard to pick one picture because they're all great and she's so beautiful, but this one just cracks me up! It's impossible to imagine that such a beautiful and loving creature was so close to being put down. I'm so glad that instead she found a wonderful home and family, and I hope you all have many happy and healthy years together.
AWWWWWWWWW, he is just the cutest little thing! How wonderful of you to save him. I have a mini Aussie who has many of the same intelligent expressions. I always wonder what she's thinking. Bet Toad will bring you MANY MANY years of happiness.

(My little Trixie is a.k.a "Trixie Doodle, Not a Poodle, I'm a Bichon!" and Sammy often goes by "Samma-Lamma-Ding-Dong" because he's so goofy.) Love this picture - what a couple of hams! One of the many things I love about dogs is that they could care less about looking "cool." Being goofy is just fine with them. Both are beautiful!
