Roux the Dogue de Bordeaux
Roux is a Dogue de Bordeaux. He has already doubled in weight since we got him in May, and he is expected to get to about 160 pounds! He was part of a litter of 10, which is unusual for the Bordeaux breed. He has been a great companion to our Westie, besides dragging her around by her collar, and a gentle soul to our cat and visitors. His mellow personality gets compliments from all ages, and when he rides in the bicycle basket he literally stops traffic on the Venice Boardwalk. He has been a spectacular addition to our family.
Never seen this breed in my life and oh my goodness I will now have to find as much information as possible about them. He is gorgeous. Sorta looks like a boxer/pit bull with the coloring of yesterday's puppy. Very interesting-looking breed :) Oh what a sweetie though. I love his happy face and the sneak attack on your Westie. LOL.

How absolutely wonderful - two days in a row we get sweet little funny faces who give us just a little bit of sweet pink puppy tongue! Scratch on the big broad head for Roux!

Roux, you are one handsome pup!! Although your furrowed brow, sad blue eyes and little peek-a-boo tongue are adorable, what I absolute love about you is how you've tucked your paws in, just like a kitty-cat. It's utterly endearing. Have a grand life; it looks like you'll deserve it ten times over. (a big on that forehead!)

So cute he will not fit through this door for much longer if he gets to that 160 pounds....haha
I have not heard of this breed either...what a cute face, and I love his floppy ears! enjoy him!
He is soooo cute! It was hard to choose a favorite pic! When I first saw him I though: if you sketch his face he would make a perfect cartoon dog! ;) Anyhow, best of luck and wishing many years of happiness.
He looks likes he's thinking, "I wouldn't EVER chew your shoes up! Don't you believe me?" He sounds great. What a guy! And he's beautiful, a very handsome lad. Enjoy him, you're all lucky.
I've never heard of this breed, but he is very handsome and just looks as sweet as can be!!

Roux is great way to introduce this breed, which I had never heard of before.He is so cute and I love his green eyes! (I think he will not only outgrow that doggy door, but that bike basket soon!) :0)
Very handsome boy. You will not only need a bigger doggie door--you'll need a bigger bicycle basket! But you'll get a great workout I guess.

Not only will he need a bigger doggie door, but you'll be needing a MUCH bigger bike basket (perhaps a motorcycle sidecar)! Lots of scritches for everyone -- Roux, the Westie, and the cat.

Big, gentle dogs steal my heart, and Roux looks like he'll fill that role to perfection! There's nothing about him that isn't handsome, but those eyes...oh, MY! May you have many happy years to love each other.

Your life will never be the same, from one Dogue lover to another. He will make you laugh until you hurt, bring tears to your eyes because they are sweet, caring and obnoxious, but there yours. Enjoy the ride, my life is never dull with my 3 year old Dogue named Zeus. Just have plenty of drool rags!

A great smile on a great face! I had never heard of this breed til I saw the movie that starred Tom Hanks & a grown Dogue, I think it was called "Turner & Hooch", Hooch was the Dogue. Roux will be Huge & slobbery & awesome! Best wishes for a long healthy life!
