I think what Sheelah was commenting about is the "designer dog" phenomenon currently taking place. Breeding every breed from rotties to beagles with poodles to create more "hypoallergenic" breeds. What people are discovering is, which is why more and more of these designer dogs are turning up in rescue, is that these puppies do inherit traits from both sides & often times these dogs shed just as bad as their "non designer" counterparts. This puppy is absolutely adorable! I'm sure his family will spoil him rotten (as they should). I do agree with Sheelah that the best policy is to always adopt (give an old dog a chance), spay & neuter.

CUte MUch?!! aww soo adorable got to love that cute little face
Nov 29, 2006 scobig
What a cutie puff! The face of a teddy bear!

Okay, to the issues raised: I am an advocate for spay and neuter, I help run a low-to-no-cost spay and neuter program for my community, but we dont know Burnelle's story. I have what people think is a 'designer dog' he is shih tzu and yorkshire terrier, but I rescued him. He was an accidental crossbreed, and living in horrible conditions when he was rescued.
Anyway, the s/n message is always a good one, but has no similarities to eugenics at all. Do not compare controlling animal overpopulation to nazi control. Thats not fair or accurate...
"triccer" says bad things about all of the doggies, everyday. I doubt he/she even looks at the pictures... Burnelle is BEAUTIFUL! Kisses to Burnelle!

No one deserves such rude comments -- get a life people -- this is an ADORABLE puppy. Shame on you, rude commentators! And, congratulations to Burnelle's family, your puppy's a peach!

Burnelle my belle couldn't make it through the day without you. You are a little teddy bear waiting to sit on the couch and cuddle. Who cares if your full or mixed whatever. You are sooooooooooooo cute.
Spaying and neutering is all well and good. But people that genuinely love their pets should be allowed to have puppies. Puppies are what makes the world go round. Think about when you had your first ball of fur with unconditional love for you when you came home from school, work wherever. Tail wagging tongue dangling. Happy as two peas in a pod as you guys greated each other. When I look at all the wonderful doggies everyday, I can get those same feelings. So the negative people don't even matter. Because God doesn't like ugly. You purposely want to offend people because ya'll aren't happy with yourselves. This dog is lovely and a cutie pie. Democracy rules!!!!!!!!!!
Nov 29, 2006 Julia
Burnelle!!!! Ay, dios mio!!! You are sooooo cute!

Knate and Charlene, you are my heroes. Your comments make my world go 'round. Referencing Hercule Poirot proves that you are the epitome of awesome. Truly, you are amazing.

About the spay/neuter message--we get it, okay? It is very important to spay and neuter, but it is not appropriate to make assumptions about these puppies. Many puppies, cross-breeds or no, were rescues. In fact, even "designer" dogs are rescue-able. I have met many people who rescued dogs through a breed-specific organization (often including breed-specific mixes in their adoptable list), especially with the problem of puppy mills in this country.

Telling someone with a puppy that they should have adopted a different dog is like telling a pregnant woman that she is adding to the world's overpopulation problem. The message is always going to be overshadowed by the tactlessness of the situation. Of course, everyone should spay and neuter, but once the dogs are here, they need homes, too.

I applaud all of you who work with animals in shelters and who see the end results of overpopulation. Both of my dogs (who live with my father) are rescues, and both were headed for "disposal" just before I got them. I can understand how painful it must be to see the vastness of the problem, and I can sympathize with the anger and frustration you must feel when you see what appears to be ignorance or apathy. Just remember, though, that the message will be discounted entirely if phrased in an accusatory way. After all, the DailyPuppy contributors have already bonded with their doggy friends, and will not take kindly to any suggestions that they made a poor choice in bringing them into their homes.

I have a Brussells/Yorkie mix and her name is Bella. Your puppy looks a lot like her. Bella is very well behaved and loveable. I prefer the mixed breeds, they are much easier to deal with. Your puppy is a little bundle of love. XOXOXOXO

Yea Julia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could you please look at the puppy's pics again and make one more of your fabulous comments. This morning you made me laugh out of my chair when I read about doggie sugars from yesterday.
Just look at Burnelle. Who wouldn't love her? That widdle face. Smoochable, I tell you. She looks like an Ewok. I would just love to see little pink bows attached by her ears. wouldn't it be fun if the web designer could have accessories on the side of the page and we could place them on the puppies pictures. Yes, I do have much free time to think of this stuff. But little Boo here really would be fun to play dress up with. Or have funny cations for their owners to tell us what the pup is thinking.

"About the spay/neuter message--we get it, okay?" from Julia. Apparently alot of people still don't "get it".
Nov 29, 2006 RENEE
Ever think if everyone spayed/neutered there wouldn't be any puppies. Just because there are jerks out there that abandoned their pets or mistreat them, why is it everyday we can't just look at cute pics and reveal in the cuteness. For some people who have hectic days....this is what gets them through. There are always going o be people who care about their pets and those who don't. There should be harsher punishments for people that mistreat or harm animals. Then you wouldn't have to worry about puppy mills. This site is about decent people who love and care for their pets. So why do people so people have to make snide comments? When a co-worker shows you a pic of their child you always telling them something nice. Even if the kid looks like an alien or an old man. So how is this any different? If you were face to face with the owner would you still be so blatently rude?
Nov 29, 2006 Chip
I'm not sure about anybody else, but I don't think that little face can be trusted. My advice, keep a close eye on her, she looks like she's up to no good; or at least forming a plan.

=IF= she was bred on purpose, BTW, she'd be known as a Broodle Griffon. My own dear doggie, whose genes were mixed by the hand of the Creator and not yslef or others, would be known as a Taco Terrier (Chihuahua/Toy Fox Terrier mix) if he were a designer dog. I love ALL the muttleys.

Nov 29, 2006 Gidget-s Mom
I just have to chime in--my wonderful Gidget is a purebred Cavalier. She had a pronounced heart murmur even at 9mo. I have to have her evaluated for luxated patella every year, and her little hips hurt when we walk to long. But I love her.

Please don't be to harsh about cross-bred dogs. Outcrosses may be far healthier and longer lived than precious purebreds. And we must love them all. Especially the sweet babies like Burnelle.

Let no puppy be unloved.
Nov 29, 2006 Knate and Charlene
Wonder if she'll wheaten out like the terriers or keep that sweet black mask. Thanks Julia!! We think you're great, too.
Nov 29, 2006 nimikov
Renee is obviously a young person. She has no idea that every second in the US a dog is euthanized because THERE ARE TOO MANY! There are 10 dogs to every 1 human. Could YOU have 10 dogs? Spaying and neutering is VITAL in saving these animals' lives. And I assure you little girl, that there will always be puppies... we just need to limit the numbers of them. If you and little Julia really love these puppies, and goo goo gaa gaa yourselves into oblivion over them everyday, then you need to think about the poor puppies that are not pictured here, that are being dumped litter by homeless litter into city gas chambers (yes, alot of places still gas!) and die by the second because people's apathy (like Julia's) and people's ignorance (like Renee's).

Also, im tired of reading the adolescent butt kissing on here, "oooh I love you so and so! You say the sappiest and silliest things and make me laugh and pee my pants!" Ugh! .... In the words of Julia... WE GET IT ALREADY!!
Nov 29, 2006 Kendra
If you ask me (I know, nobody did), every dog born is a dog in need of a home. I think it's up to the people getting the dog to decide if buying or adopting is right for them. Some people prefer to buy and raise a dog while others prefer to adopt one and give it a better life. Either way, Burnelle has a loving home with people who just wanted to share her cuteness.
I hear so many people say "don't buy; you're contributing to the overpopulation problem" or "boycotting buying puppies is the only way to stop puppy mills," but in reality, THOSE DOGS NEED HOMES TOO! The puppy mill/breeding industry pumps 500,000 dogs into the economy every year! If we all just stopped buying puppies, where do you think those puppies would end up? In a shelter, maybe, but most likely they'd be killed by the puppy miller, which is pretty much the same as being killed at a shelter and is the COMPLETE opposite of what we're trying to accomplish here. What we really need to do is stop arguing over buying or adopting and convince our government to finally properly regulate the breeding industry, so only responsible breeders who love the dogs more than the money will be breeding, not puppy millers! We have to stop the dogs from being born in the first place, because once they're here we can't just say "You're not good enough for a home because I have to buy you!"

And that little baby is still cute! ; )
Nov 29, 2006 RENEE
Wow Niv.

Guess your wrong as usual. I'm not young or a little girl. I'm mid 30's and I know what I'm talking about. I've lived all over the US ( WV included) and even Japan. I have a college education. Since you are all knowing and we are ignorant. Why don't you start your own website? You can show the puppies in the shelter you work for. I gave you ideas last week when you were whinning about how nobody in WV wants to adopt and you have to kill x amt of animals every week. This site is for people to OOOOOHHHHH and AAAAAHHHHH over cute pictures. Some of us look forward to the stuff Julia has to say. Every animal I have ever had has been given to me because someone couldn't take care of it or from a rescue except one that my dying mother purchased when I was at work and she was lonely. So I think I've done my part keeping the cuties from being gassed by someone like you. Ever think if you lowered your prices at the pound for adoption or spaying and neutering people would be more apt to go there. I hope you go to websites with children on there and complain about how human parents are so horrible for putting children in foster care and up for adoption because they are unfit. It's people like me and Julia that come to places like the one you work at and pick up a dog or cat. Why do you think we visit web sites like this? Because we love animals. Stop bullying the puppies. This is their time to shine. They got picked out of tons of photos to be the ones in the spot light. Why don't you use this as a tool to show people that come into your pound the potential Bella the pug has. Or how big Cloe the Retriver will get. WE GET IT ALREADY your not happy with your life. Get a new job. You're obviously not good at the one you have.
Nov 29, 2006 Bunnied816
Oh for goodness sake! Apathy & ignorance? So, Nimikov, I think babies are cute. I love looking at peoples baby pictures. I am also aware of the devastation brought upon innocent babies by starvation, disease and abuse. So, if I go on a website, BUILT TO DISPLAY CUTE BABIES, and make comments consistent with my love for said cute babies - does this make me ignorant & apathetic. Please get a grip. There is enough negativity, depressing news and outright horror in the world - you don't need to spray it in every corner. I, for one, enjoy visiting a site that celebrates the adorable. I'm neither ignorant, apathetic, callous, or unmoved by the plight of orphaned animals. I work as a volunteer at our local shelter, and all my pets are spayed and neutered. And I greatly appreciate a website with something lovely to rest my heart from the awfulness that goes on every day.

Can everyone just find it in their heart to simply enjoy?
Nov 29, 2006 Sophia
I agree with Renee 100%.
Why make peoplez dogor dogs miserable when its there puppy or dogs time to shine.

Cute pup!
Nov 29, 2006 ()()()()()()()()()!!
There has been more controversy over this puppy than any other puppy on this website. its unbeleivable. people should not put other people down with there comments. just say what you think about the dog not whats wrong with what other people are saying. as GoPups said, "We do not have a story for this dog and everybody is jumping to conclusions because 1 person did first." its stupid.
Nov 29, 2006 Sophia
Also I'm telling u 2 rememmber be kind.I'm also intellegent not some ignorant, nor Apathy
I am very offended by ur immature behavior.
I save homeless cats in my neighborhood I feed them food and help those in need also if there is a dog lost or abandon i save it I have one that i found name Hanna she was abandon so I saved her .

Nov 29, 2006 Debi
Hi all,
Triccer whoever you are , how sad to have such apathy towards little critters. Animals give unconditional love/acceptance too bad all humans do not.
A little bit of "nice" goes a long way.
Nov 29, 2006 annette
Nov 29, 2006 Julia

The fact that you would accuse me of apathy displays your lack of understanding of my comment. Please re-read. Obviously I am not ignorant or uncaring to the plight of overpopulation in this country (and in the world). I have two rescues. I advocate spaying and neutering. I volunteer time and donate money. I am part of action groups that lobby for better animal protection laws. I care very deeply for these animals, and in a deeper way than just so I can "oooh" and "ahh" over their faces.

What I was trying to convey is that you need to be mindful of your approach or your message will be discounted on its face. If you want people to spay and neuter, which I do, as well, you are going to do more harm than good just being a jerk to people whose stories you don't know. Again, it is like accusing pregnant women of being uncaring to the plight of children because they chose to have a child instead of adopting one. Stop the cross-breed hating, too. (I would rather adopt crosses and mutts because they are usually healthier, but I digress.)

Apparently you are misunderstanding the purpose of this website. You are seeing my comments about these puppy faces and somehow attributing them to my overall outlook on all things canine. This is illogical and unfair. What you fail to realize is that accusing people of being bad, ignorant, and uncaring doesn't help any more dogs find homes.

My heart goes out to you, because I know that you are faced with cruelty and sadness. You have to try not to let yourself become so cynical and embittered, though, because you will only antagonize people unnecessarily.
Nov 29, 2006 annette
Nimikov--lighten up....just look at the cute pups here...this is what it is all about....No need for the harsh words!! There are other places to voice your opinion on spay, nutering, breeding etc......(even tho I did here but I was nice)
Nov 29, 2006 Julia
P.S. If you don't like people's supportive comments to each other, don't like seeing puppies that you are not 100% positive came from your shelter, don't like reading the comments about the cuteness of the dogs, don't like seeing pics of "unnecessary" cross-breeds, and think that every person who posts or contributes is less of a dog-lover than you are, you might consider viewing websites other than this one. After all, this website must really upset you on a daily basis, since that's pretty much what it is.

P.P.S. I will take your "little Julia" remarks as a compliment to my girlish figure. My gratitude!
Nov 29, 2006 Debbie
you go julia!

i think this dog is a cute little baby <3

We guess some people can't see the lighter side of life. They seem to need an attitude adjustment(kick in the rump) or a big lick from a cute puppy like all of the bundles of unconditional love shown here.
Nov 29, 2006 cally-s mommy
Your pup is a beauty!!! I rarely see another pup that I think is as cute as my sweetie. I would love to cuddle up with this cutie.

When I posted my pup's picture, I could not wait to ready the comments from the fans. I'm sorry to see that people are using this site as a means to voice opinions on animal control. It is not the proper place to make such comments.

Ignore the rude, hateful responses and enjoy your puppy's debut.

the Brussel Griffon population is quite small in the U.S. compared to many breeds. This fact has led to more inbreeding and genitic disorders than we wanted in our pet. We sought out this mix. Yes, she is fixed. If you think dogs should be bred into genitic disfunction for your own standards, are you really a dog lover?
Yes, she does have an amazing personality (very much a clown), and we adore her. Don't worry, no one will need to rescue this mutt!

I'm truly sick and tired of seeing the negative comments on this site. They do not belong here and the people who post them know full well that this is true. They have their own agendas which do NOT BELONG HERE.

Brunelle is beautiful and may he always bring you joy.

To the people who post all this negative scum...get a life, Make your own forum or site to fight about the issues you care about and stop littering this beautiful place with your venom. Again, It does not belong here.

I love to hear your your comments Julia...keep them coming!
Nov 29, 2006 Christy
Aww! Your puppy is adorable. My Boarder collie just turned 1-year-old... She isn't a puppy anymore :( But still, love Brunelle in her puppy stage, -even when she destroys the couch!- Because she will become a full-grown dog before you know it, and you will miss the wet nose and the warm belly of the puppy you love.
Nov 29, 2006 Christy
P.S. Remember everyone, all dogs are adorable as puppies. But keep in mind, they will get older and usually get less adorable, but still love them. Remember, it's the personality of the pooch that counts- not it's looks.

After this diatribe going on today, it's best to look at the puppy pix and not read comments which truely have ruined my experience on this website.
Nov 30, 2006 twinkelbelpeach
To whoever runs this website, please start monitoring what is being said in comments. I believe in free speeh, but I also believe in some places being a refuge of those preaching their own personal agendas. For godsake, this is a place to look at cute puppies. To ooh and ah and enjoy. There are plenty of other places for people to lash out. Hopefully things will change here and soon, but if not, so be it.
Nov 30, 2006 ilovedogs

i love the dog its ssoooo cute the people shouldnt say rude things on web sites lol
Nov 30, 2006 nimikov
They brought it up... not me. Yes every dog and puppy born need a home, that is why we need to control how many are born, that way they can all get homes. My heart is in the right place, so what if I detest seeing looooong posts that say nothing but:

I have every right to be cynical and as sarcastic as I wanna be, because everytime I mention on here the need for spay and neuter, people have to jump all over it and attack me and tell me to lighten up and get over it, and play it down like it is not important, THAT makes me SO mad.

And no, this puppy hasnt been the most controversial, I think Ruben and Cleo's pups take that cake...
Nov 30, 2006 nimikov
You know, you are all correct. This is just a site where people come to look at cute fuzzy pictures and pretend that there isnt any pain and suffering in the world... they covet certain featured breeds and the cycle continues.. WANT over shadows NEED and so on and so on. You all just enjoy your ignorant bliss, I honestly dont know why I even come here anymore. I thought I could help spread the good word about saving animals in a forum built for those interested, but I have had to become defensive, and by being attacked and ridiculed I have become ugly. So, this is the last post I will ever post, and the last visit to this site for me. I see enough cute faces here at the shelter... as heartbreaking as it becomes.

You can all say YAY and GOOD RIDDANCE and what have you. I wont see it, so I dont care. I am sorry to anyone that I offended who didnt deserve it, and I am even more sorry to those who did.

My message is simple, until there are none, adopt one.
Nov 30, 2006 renee
Brunelle is soooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!
He makes me want to Squeeeeeaaaalllllllllllllllll with OOOOOOHHHH's and AAAAHHHHHHH's. Never in my life have I seen such a cutie. He/she has a great personality. Very photogenic. My daughter thinks the puppy is so cute and reminds her that it looks like you could dust stuff with it. It reminds her of the dog from As Good As It Gets. I only wish there was a pic with its little tongue wagging out. That would have been sooooo adorable.

..umm anyway...
for anyone who's interested, there are alot of great resources and experts about spaying and neutering and other issues on the Best Friends Network (http://network.bestf riends....)
I figured since several people mentioned that this isn't really the place to discuss that kind of stuff, those who feel so passionately about the subject could discuss it there with other volunteers and animal rights activists....
Also, nimikov, a lot of volunteers post animals on Best Friends everyday who are within their last hours at shelters. If you're shelter is really having trouble adopting out animals, perhaps some people on the Best Friends Forum could help you get the word out...

Triccer and sheelagn should learn a little bit about evolution and biology. If you knew anything about evolution of dogs, you should know there is no such thing as as a tame dog. All dogs are wolves, and it is the result of crossbreeding that made them dogs not wolves! So continiue to trim your poodles for your next dog show, cause that's what they were (cross)bred for, RIGHT?

TO ALL DOG PURISTS: Northern Minnesota has good wolves, you can catch one if you want. Otherwise you can adopt a much needed one at your local humane society, they need love too! Althought they might not be purebred, but I bet they also love to be loved.

Dear Puppy 101,
Sophia is a 12 year old little girl. She was upset because Niv insulted her mother and other people on the site. She has every right to tell someone to be nice. Plus she didn't swear. I think that you are really Niv. All my daughter wanted to do was look at the puppy pics and read the comments because she loves dogs and cats. She saw me write back to Niv and when I went outside to talk to a customer she wrote in. I scolded her for not writting proper english and her spelling. Then I told her she's not allowed to tell an adult to fill in the blanks. But you know what Why is it our parents always tell us if you don't have something nice to say don't say it at all. But Tricer, Niv and you have no problem always being rude. Then when someone tells you it's not nice you get your panties in a wad. 98% of the people visiting the site just want to look at these beautiful pets and enjoy themselves. It's the 2% of you that try to ruin it.

Nimikov, the presence of sadness in the world does not make the happiness disappear. It is possible to enjoy the pleasures that these photographs bring and still work to lessen the plight of pet overpopulation. I don't understand why you think that the only way to care about the problems in the world is to eliminate all enjoyment. It is illogical to be angered by people's appreciation of doggie cuteness, especially when that appreciation--especially appreciation of mixed breeds--increases the chances of adoptions and breed-specific (or mutt) rescues. Accusing the people who love dogs enough to come to this site, especially on a daily basis, of being uncaring because we can still enjoy looking at dog pictures is inappropriate. I, for one, am fortunate that dogs still bring me pleasure. You, apparently, can no longer feel this happiness, and I am sad for you.

My boyfriend is a police officer. My mother is a social worker who works with abused elderly people, many of whom are mentally ill. They have seen terrible things. They see terrible things almost every day. It is very difficult for them to deal with the things that they see. But both of them guard against becoming so embittered that their enjoyment of life is gone. Child protective services workers see terrible child abuse. They probably also feel very strongly that people should adopt children who need good homes. However, they probably also don't jump down the throats of every new mother who wants to share her baby photos. My advice to you is to get a different job if your current situation is depriving you of the ability to enjoy simple pleasures that life offers.

Nimokov:if a little puppy that had not been adopted, that had been bred, came and circled your legs and licked you, would you throw it off harshly and run away?A very clever person [I think it was Renee] said that those puppys need homes too. They need love like every rescued pup.And what on earth is wrong with saying pups are cute??Think about it:if everybody went around saying stuff like you,how would the puppies feel?Depressed, like everyone else would.

Julia and Renee:I have never agreed more in my life. You are SO RIGHT.

Please remember:the puppy?

This is the DAILY PUPPY! Time to get off your soap box; look at fuzzy faces, pink tummies and feel all soppy. Every puppy is adorable and has a personality of his/her own. Comment as you will. The puppies can't read;but, the owners can and it hurts when certain comments are made. The owners want to share their beasties and we're overjoyed they do! Power to the Puppies! Hi Burnelle-Now Knate and I will hop off our soapbox and look at some tummies.

how sad that the posting of such a beautiful puppy should cause such an uproar and hurt the feelings of a young girl in the process! we can do better than this. let's be adults here.

hi burnelle's mom and/or dad,
i absolutely adore Burnelle, the cutest puppy i've ever seen! i'm desperately looking for a broodle griffon breeder, but have been unlucky in my search and remain broodle griffonless:( i have always loved brussel griffon, but do suffer from allergies so when i realized there were now brussel griffons x poodle crosses my heart lept! my heart is set on this breed/mutt now, but i have found it extremely hard to find one at all. since you were obviously successful in finding a breeder, i was wondering if you could offer me any advice in my searching. if you could send me a website, e-mail address, phone number of ANY broodle griffons in north america i would truly appreciate it! i am willing to fly anywhere in the country to bring my broodle griffon home with me.
congratulations on your beautiul dog, and i hope to hear from you soon!!!!

That Broodle-Griffon sounds amazing. Send me one too. I believe that all dogs need and deserve homes. Every tiny or large or whatever circumstance deserves love and affection and attention, as do we all.
We are Blessed to have our beloved "Puppies", and to love them through all their "UPS & DOWNS." Love to Burnelle and lots of hugs. She is a sweetie/love/honey/sugar/pie/love!< br /> Woofies from Miss Katie =O) Dane

Burnelle is a fluffy little teddy bear. I just want to cuddle her close. I'll bet she's nice to have around on cold nights. :)
