"So you have to ask yourself, 'Exactly what DOES she have under that blanket. Did she fill in that straight? What if she has a flush? I only saw one King in five deals. She could have Kings over twos! Dammit! What do I do?!?' Look into my eyes, fold and walk away with bus fare. Do I LOOK like I bluff? EVER?"

She looks like a natural. I have to commend what you do as a foster parent for her; I could never bring myself to let such a cutie go! In addition to your emotional fortitude, bravo to you for doing this important "work" (in quotes because socializing an adorable, smart puppy is dubiously termed "work"). Please give Darcy some scritches from me (but only when you have her "off-duty")!

Wonderful dog with a happy and meaningful life ahead. Good for you fosters. It's only by envisioning the future good deeds of Darcy will you be able to let go. You describe and your pics show the countenance necessary to serve the blind !! KUDOS !!!

Good luck Darcy with your training. My father-in-law's German Shepherd came from Rochester too. German Shepherds were common as eye-seeing dogs in the 50s and 60s.

Belly rubs and hugs to your pretty girl. What you are doing is noble and it will be hard to give her up. This pic made me think of the song "The Look of Love Is In Your Eyes" and that is what she inspires.

Darcy is adorable and I'm sure going to be a great therapy dog. Right now all she needs is love and to enjoy being a puppy. I could never give her up after a year but have so much respect for those special people who do take on having a puppy for one year then passing them to a trainer. God bless them all.

Thanks everyone for the very sweet comments! Darcy is the sweetest puppy and yes I do get very attached to these puppies. When I bring them back to Leader Dogs and hear from the blind person it is the most rewarding thing! She is my 5th dog! These puppies have changed my life!

Darcy is a precious little angel, that will one day help a human. I pray owners of these special animal helpers, never mis-treat them. I just think these dogs are wonderful...
