Duke says: "Hi! My name is Duke. I live in Hawaii and am named after the great surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku. I am a German shepherd/Labrador mix, will be seven months in a few days, and love life. Right after my parents adopted me from the Humane Society I got parvo and had to be in the hospital for a little over a week!! But nothing can keep me down! I love playing fetch, chewing on shoes, and eating Christmas ornaments. I don't know what to think about the beach yet, except the sand doesn't taste very good. And there is nothing I love more than wrestling with my other doggy friends." Close

Shelter dogs are the BEST! We have two dogs that we adopted at the local animal shelter and they are so awesome! Duke is sooo adorable and so lucky to live with you in beautiful Hawaii.

He reminds me of a dog I once had and he was so precious to me! Casey, couldn't keep one ear up and had the same sad eyes. It has been many years since I lost him and I still dearly miss him.

I HAVE A GERMAN SHEPPARD AND LAB TOO!! BUT THEY RN'T MIXED. BUT THEIR ATTIUDE IS VERY GOOD!! IT'S REALLY FUN TO HAVE THEM DOGS AROUND!! I HOPE HE DOESN'T GET SICK NE MORE, HE IS JUST GORGOUS TO ME!! I love the ears....so cute. I had a Lab a long time ago and his name was Duke. You have a very special little guy there and living in paradise as well. So glad he survive that nasty diease. Duke your a cutie and I would love to give you huggs and kisses.

I love the pic where he is licking his nose. The tongue-curl makes me squeal. I also love the direct-at-the-snout shots that allow me to imagine that I am laying on the floor in front of Duke and we are at eye level. Yay!

YAY for... holy goodness that's a cute dog... looks to me like he's got a little terrier (one of the dreaded 'pit bull' breeds - oh, let's mistreat animals and then blame them for getting a bit grumpy) from the wonderful tiger stripage. If Duke lived with (or even near) me, I would get NOTHING done because I'd just stare into his eyes all day and make goo-goo baby sounds puncutated by squeals of deligh over being so close to such a bitable munchkin.

hi there, unless you know he had a lab parent, i'm pretty sure duke is a dutch sheperd. we adopted a dutch thinking he was a german/heeler mix for 2 years! after we learned and identified his breed we love dutch sheperds!
