Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Boxer
Emma, our rambunctious mutt puppy, came to us via a local shelter. She's an unspecified hound/bully breed mix -- we're guessing Rhodesian ridgeback mixed with boxer, bull mastiff, or pit bull, but we don't know for sure. She's growing like a weed, so she'll be a big girl. Emma's favorite things include anything peanut butter-flavored, meeting new people, chasing her blue and white tennis ball, and dragging her blue stuffed octopus toy around with her wherever she goes.

emma is a beauty and seems to like where her life has taken her! cool that you got her from the local shelter - she looks like she has lots of personality, is very loyal and loves her owners! many happy days with emma - lots of kisses and biscuits for emma!

I'd say there's definitely some Boxer in this baby's lineage. She's a beauty. Mutt adoption is the way to go!!

doglover903, I assure you that we check Emma's collar daily to make sure it's fitting her growing body appropriately. What you're seeing is all the loose skin this big girl has yet to grow into. :) Thank you all for your wonderful comments!
Emma is a total delight! We have 3 rescues of mixed sizes and decided to learn a little about their parents to know what to expect in the future. We had great (and matching) results with both Wisdom Panel and Canine Heritage DNA tests. Our vet uses them to plan and assist with their health treatments. Have a great life with Emma.

Hi there Emma's parents - not to worry - my Bullmastiff X has loose skin by the pound - when he stands up, it all goes away and the collar is fine - as I am sure so is yours. Emma is a lovely girl - cute chunky puppy feet and all. Beautiful color as well - many happy years together :-)

She looks like she definately has some Mastiff in her but whatever she is, she's beautiful. I too have a rescue and read recently that they never forget that they were abused and never forget that you saved them. Thanks for giving her a good and loving home. she is utterly gorgeous, I adore mutts cos they combine cuteness from all sorts of different breeds! She's an absolutely beauty. Yes, I can see the Ridgeback. Is it often that shelters have puppies? No shelters around my area seem to have puppies, just older dogs, and it would be so much nicer to adopt than go to a breeder.

Emma is a beautiful girl and judging by her build and coat colours I think you are right about her being part Rhodesian Ridgeback. Our boy, Tonka is a RR and he has very similar features. Take lots more pics while she is still a pup...They grow sooo fast!

Emma is SO beautiful. I have two purebred Golden Retrievers and five cats (two shelter cats and three adopted strays), all of whom I adore, but I always feel guilty that I've never adopted a dog from a shelter. The next dog I get will be a shelter dog or a rescued greyhound, though. Bless you for rescuing Emma and giving her a chance at life.

She looks just like my Zella. She is American Bulldog/Rottweiler. Zella just turned 9 mos., and is already 70lbs! I hope she's as much fun as my girl.

I have a puppy 8 months old "scooby" who looks exactly like this pup. I was told she was a hound and Cur mix ??? She is the sweetest and most well behaved puppy I have ever had. She has learned many tricks so far with relative ease.. My Buddy !!!

i have 4 dogs, all of which are adorable but they are all purebred, which is fine but
i always used to feel a bit guilty that we hadn't chhosen any rescued dogs....
my brothers said that i shouldn't feel guilty but sometimes i do .

We got our little pup in Sept. through a boxer rescue group and he was listed as a boxer/rotweiller mix. We believe he looks more like a boxer/ pit bull. The reason I am telling you all this is your dog looks identical to ours in every picture. Did you ever determine exactly what mix Emma is?
