I've said it before: why do wrinkles look SO precious on pups and not on humans???? Just look at those wrinkly baby paws!! Just one of a million wonderful things about them, I guess. How fabulous to see a Bassett on DP, we don't see enough hounds on here! And Hamilton is an absolute stunner of a hound! Hamilton Ranger is a cutie! We rescued a little girl Bassett many years ago now and named her Bugle. She was a very kind hearted soul and lived a full life, canoeing and hiking ... and, yes, sleeping ... passing on at 17 years old. I hope you enjoy your baby for many, many years to come!

As a full blown Hound fanatic, this picture is EVERYTHING hound!! My dachshund gives me this same pose with her ears at full attention and I fall in love all over again. He is a very handsome Basset Hound with probably the most beautiful eyes I have seen. This is a wonderful breed of hound and I'm sure you will enjoy every day with Hamilton. Just beautiful.

My sister-in-law's sister and her husband have owned several Bassetts, the last being 1/2 Beagle. I keep thinking of Lt. Columbo's dog (now, what was his name? I was surprised hye could carry his dog around-those dogs are heavier than any of my Border Collie girls). My priest had two females,mother and daughter. They aren't bad dogs at all!
