that is so0o0 ADORABLE!!! is the other one his sibling? they are so sweet.... my teachers sister has a puggle too....

We who are owned by regular beagles just don't understand this breed combo, but I will grant you that Joey is cute.

Puggles are part pug and part beagle. They are 100% snarfable. I love the slight underbite and perpetually perplexed expression. Also, I love the chompable ear flops. I want to flap them up and down.

The wrinkles in the forehead are so cute!!!! It makes you want to scoop him up and kiss him. My mom just died of CHF and her pug stayed by her side the whole time. Very loyal little guys

We had seen pix of Puggles before (in act, a few right here on The Daily Puppy), but we met our first in the fur Puggle a couple weeks ago at our local PetSmart (he was with his Daddy) They are soooooooo cuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttteeeee

I am so sick of seeing these ugly dogs. Why crossbreed dogs? It just makes more dogs in the world that we dont need! And why obsess over such an ugly mix?!?!

1. Why crossbreed dogs? Because constant inbreeding weakens a species, leading to illness and genetic disorders. Mixing them up is healthy.

2. Why obssess over such an ugly mix? That's a matter of opinion. Some people think they're adorable. I agree that the buggy eyes are ugly, but in person they are adorable because of their plaintive expressions, their constant wiggling and snuffling, and their floppy ears. More importantly, they are super-loyal, very affectionate, good with all kinds of people and other dogs, and just wonderful dogs.

This baby does not have "buggy eyes" - they actually pretty deepset - and he is far from ugly! To the contrary I think this is one of the most handsome dogs I have ever seen. What a wondeful little guy, have fun with him. :-)

On another note, why oh why do people feel the need to post negative remarks about other people's dogs? If he is ugly, why did you even click on his picture to look at the extra pics and comments? Do you get some pleasure out of being pointlessly mean? If you don't like it, just don't get one, and let beauty be in the eye of the beholders. What is this, puppy high school?

You know what I don't "understand?" I don't "understand" why people who have so-called "purebred" dogs seem compelled to comment negatively or snidely about those of mixed parentage. Do you also disparage biracial people? I have owned mutts, and I have owned AKC registered springer spaniels, and I have loved them all and thought all of them were the most adorable creatures alive while I was lucky enough to be in their company. Get off your high horse and/or find something better to do—like being a troll on Yahoo message boards. Oh, by the way, this little guy is very sweet. He looks like he is crying in that last picture, though. Clean those "sleepers," mom!

I so agree with the people that have negative commet.If you dont have nothing nice to say keep it to yourself!!! I really think this puppy is so adorable his eyes,wrinkled skin just to cute for me. I have a rescued mixed puppy and I hate it when my son says she is an ugly mutt because my puppy gives me reasons for many things I am disable and my adorable cute puppy keeps me going. My point was not that only purebred dogs are good, I have mutts. They came from a shelter and I love them dearly. My point is crossbreeding dogs on purpose and then selling them for $1,200 bucks a pop is stupid. So are the people who buy them off the internet. Ill say as I pleze cause this is a free country so deal with it.

I don't there can be an ugly puppy. I do wish people would be respnsible and spay and neuter, not breed their companions.Thousands of sweet, adorable puppies and dogs are put down every day. Let's stop encouraging more until we can take care of the current population. Yes, I have both purebred and rescue companions, and am glad I became more conscious of the plight of puppies and dogs when I rescued the last two.

did you know that dobermans came from crossbreeding greyhounds with rotties? did you know that whippets and italian greyhounds (both dating back hundreds of years) came from breeding greyhounds and terriers? all "purebreds" were once crossbreeeds. breeds did not just spring into existence, they were developed - have we reached the limit of allowed breeds just because AKC says so? believe me, they'll eventually catch up with the times, everyone else might as well too.

I am joey's owner and I just wanted to say that I appreciate all of the positive comments, and the negatives ones don't really both me. They have a right to their opinion and I am very happy with Joey, I love him, and no negative comments will ever change my love for him or make me regret paying money for him. And for everyone that requested me to hug and kiss him, I will give him two for everyone who asks. I didn't write much under his picture, but for all puggle fans he is very well mannered and smart, aside from being unbelievably cute. He is very good around kids and other dogs, and that is one of the main reasons we got him. He does like to wonder off and explore (the beagle), but also is a cuddler (the pug). And for the question about the other puggle, that is his half-brother Otis, who my sister owns. Thanks for all the comments, Joeysparents

I think he is adorable. I also own a puggle, he just turned a year old. I would not trade him for any other dog in the whole world. His name happens to be Otis like your sisters. They are very happy, loyal, affectionate, loving dogs. He also gets along very well with our older dog, they are best friends.

And he the cutest thing I would ever find and want. I love him to death! And at this point I would pay more than what I originally paid for him. Well worth it. And Joey looks so cute! WOW! What a response to Joey! My puggle "Khaki" was on here a couple of months ago and didn't get this much action. Joey looks exactly like Khaki when he was a baby. I adore this breed. Anyone in their right mind couldn't possibly think they were ugly. Insanity! To address the angry child...grow up, learn to spell words correctly, seek out someone who will befriend you (this could be very hard, but you can do it!), and then stay off of the internet until you are mature enough to act like a big kid. I think Joey is a sweet thing. This isn't the forum for ranting. It is to celebrate the loves of our lives and share them with others who understand the relationships between man and animal. I'm not a fan of the catipillar, but absolutely love the butterfly! Joey has a loving home and that's what matters! Enjoy your precious pooch.

Yes, there is a down side to creating "designer dogs." For instance, those who cross-breed Pugs with Boston Terriers. This will only increase the health problems inherent in those breeds. But a cross-breed like the Puggle actually creates a healthier new breed. That's how today's "accepted" breeds all started out. And one person's "ugly" is another person's "adorable." & #10;There's no need to flatly criticize all cross-breeding. Very few things in life are that simple. Yes, it would be nice if everyone adopted the mutts who need homes before doing any more breeding. But that's not reality. A more constructive approach to the reality of breeding would be to educate people about the facts.
