I'm sorry, but that is not a pomeranian. He may have a little pom in him, but he's got something else too. But he is cuter than most poms. Nice face and expression.
Mar 18, 2006 Candace
He is so adorable and sweet! He is just way too cute!
Mar 18, 2006 Grace
There is no way that thing is a pomeranian. I still think he is cute though
Mar 18, 2006 puppyluver

Hi! Thanks for posting Larry's pictures! I'm sorry I couldn't get better photos as I lost my camera. I thought he was part Border Collie too but his parents are AKC registered Pomeranians so I guess he's just a Black/White Parti Colored Pom.

Well if you want to see if he really is a Pom mix or not, you can view more pictures at his album: http://www.fecklessr udie.my...
It's updated constantly so we'll see how he grows up =)

May 26, 2006 Alicia
he is a pomeranian. There are alot of Pomeranians that look like little border collies. My friend has one too. The lady i bought my pomeranian from is a breeder and she had 3 just like him.
Jun 3, 2006 Dog Lover
I don't think it is pom but could be. The cutest anyway. LOVE YOUR DOG!!!!! say hi to Larry for me.
Jun 6, 2006 Beth
He is adorable! I have 2 pom mixes--- he has come corgi, dachshund, or a longer nosed dog in him. ADORABLE and they have great personalities!
Jun 22, 2006 Nicole & Marley
I just bought a pure breed pom & he is the same size but different color. He is sooooooo cute!
Jun 29, 2006 KayLynn
Larry is definitely a pom mix. You can easily tell by his head structure he's not a true Pom.

Either way -- I'm a 'mutt' too. And I think me and Larry are equally cute ;-)
Jun 30, 2006 Auburn
Chances are he is purebred--just not show quality (muzzle's a little too big). The only other dog I can think with markings like that is a Papillon, and this little dude is probably not mixed with a pap (the proportions aren't there).

Poms come in funky colors now called "parti-poms" (hence the border collie/cow spots).

This cutie looks like he's going through the "puppy uglies." This is a stage when a pom hits about 4-6 months and loses his fuzzy puppy coat. It takes a little while before the full adult coat comes in so he looks scraggly. This little fellow is adorable though (nothing ugly about him).
Jul 2, 2006 Casey =)
Hi, thanks for all the comments! Yes, he is a purebred pom: his parents are AKC registered poms but like Auburn said above, he was sold as a pet quality pet and not show quality which is why he doesn't seem to fit the standards.

Well I....
Jul 2, 2006 Casey
....got a new-ish picture of him "smiling"
http://img61.imagesh ack.us/...
He's a few days from turning 7 months there and his fur is just a bit longer than that now.

Aug 25, 2006 Dawn
My puppy is also going thru the "uglies" stage....I was all upset cus i thought something was wrong with him : (( but did alot of research and found out that its normal...He is 5 months as of 8/23/06....im going to try to send a photo of him when we first got him...
Sep 25, 2006 notpurepomeranian
im sorry, but i have to agree with the people who have been saying that this is not a pure pomeranian, but it is one of the cutest dogs i have evr seen!!!:)
Sep 28, 2006 Leah
I agree with everyone else, there is no way he is a pomeranian. I would also say, border collie and pom. A true pomeranian weighs per the AKC standard, to be 3-7 lbs.
Sep 29, 2006 Vanessa Vaughan
This is definitely a pomeranian.
Anyone who is informed about them knows that they go through this stage when they're leaving "childhood" and they look much more "fox-like" and less like a little puffballs. Some take up to two years to achieve their full coat. It can be a surprise to new owners, and many people worry that something has gone wrong. It's a normal phase in the life of their coat.
Oct 29, 2006 Reese
I have a 8 month old pom going through his puppy uglies too. He is a little fluffier than your Larry but your puppy is adorable nonetheless.
Oct 31, 2006 Tam
he is very sweet looking but i have to agree as well and i hate to tell anyone that something isnt right but when i looked at his pic he looks like he weighs 25-35lbs there is no way he is full blooded, i think you have been had, but that happen to me before too and they are still the bested dogs ever. i was raised w/ shelties and border collies and he is probably mixed w/ a border collie and remener there are people who arent honest and can forge the paper work, and also you can have a a pom bred w/ another pom and say another dog also mated w/ her they dont know about you can have mixes and purebreds, dogs work different then humans. but please dont take my comment to heart, i have a yorkie that everyone tells me is mixed but i have paper work too and believe me it aggraivates the s*** out of me when someone says something but i have come to realize that he is either mixed w/ a silkie (which looks just like a yorkie) or he is just big boned. Good LUCK!!!!

I have 6 month old Pomeranian and he is already 11.7 Lbs. My last Pomeranian, Daisy, was 17 Lbs. and I seen a bigger (27Lbs). We have the Papers on both, although, we use to wonder about Daisy's true lineage. In bigger ‘Poms’ support, on Sparky’s last visit to the vet and he told us that he likely be almost 17 pounds. Yeah for big Pomeranian’s!
Nov 9, 2006 Desiree
I think that is one of the cutiest poms ive ever seen I own one myself.
Nov 10, 2006 Casey
Thanks guys, but for those other people, I have AKC papers for Larry and he only weighs 11 pounds, not 25-35.

Oh, here's a puppy picture from the girl I bought him from =)

Casey,
I also have a pom & he looks exactly like Larry (also AKC registered) except he is a different color. I have people tell me all of the time that he isnt a pom (like everyone is experts) & it kindof gets annoying. Larry is extremely cute & I think you are very lucky to have him.
Nov 27, 2006 FRED
POOR LARRY! HERE U R SHARING UR BEE-OOT-EE FOOL DOGGIE, AND ALL U GET IS S--T ABOUT HOW HE'S NOT A POM! OH, PATOOTEE!THE TROUBLE IS THE PICTURES DON'T HAVE ANYTHING IN THEM THAT SHOWS US HIS SIZE! AND HIS STRUCTURE MAKES HIM LOOK LIKE A BORDER TERRIER! BUT THE LAST PCTURE LOOKS JUST LKE A POM! GR8 DOGIE
Dec 10, 2006 Lindsy
You guys are being rude the people who are saying he is not a pom must not know a lot about them, my pom Bear has the same markings and trust me he is purebred. Just cause somthing does not fit the sterotype you have of them does not mean they are not what they say they are
Jan 19, 2007 e.halkyard
ah he is lovely i have a pom too he looks like mine gizmo is his name he has longer legs the poms and a long nose i didnt get papers with with him so im not sure but i love him very much elaine

i had a pom named sam who looked a lot like larry. he was akc registered, but was not show quality. he made a great pet, though. larry has the most unusual coat. very pretty. and his face is so sweet. enjoy him!
Jan 25, 2007 laurampaleka
Too funny! I have a pom named Larry too. I thought we were the only ones in the world who would name their pom Larry :-)! For those of you who don't know, Pomeranians were originally 30lb siberian sled dogs until Queen Victoria brought them to England and started breeding them for smallness and the trend caught on. And he is a party pom- white with splashes of color- just going through his puppy phase before his full coat comes in. He looks adorable! I hope you guys have as much fun as my Larry and I do :-)!
May 3, 2007 GraceKatherine
Yup. Don't be such a bitch about how he's not "all Pomeranian" my dogs all weigh over 20 lbs. and they ALL (all three) are purebred Pomeranians. They all are AKC certified and my one dog Navi has Championship lines. They are all gorgeous. And you guys apparently know nothing about dogs. Neither of my dogs are overweight either (the vet said they are in good health) and my one Pom who was seventeen just recently passed away, but was in good health, the vet said she was just old.

What a cutie!

I have a 2 year old 15 lb. male pom named Leo. He is a wolf sable color. The vet advised me at his 1st visit he would be a larger pom because he weighed about 2.5 lbs at that time Just like LArry people say Are you sre he is purebred? Yes He has papers. He looks just like the poms I see in the books or on the calendars but because he is not small enough to fit in a purse people question his breed. The vet also said she is sure he is purebred. People forget that this breed was not originally 3-7lbs. and that the new standard size comes from people purposely trying to make them smaller by breeding the 2 tiny ones and hoping for a 2lb pom full grown. This can cause serious health issues. I have seen poms in all different sizes and I don't think that any 2 poms look the same. Some look like little bears and some more like foxes. My Leo looks like fox. He has predominately tan with black and a little bit of grey on his back and chest. The tips of his ears are black and he has a black mask on his face. He also looks like he has eyeliner on because he has the black marking on his eyes. Eveyone always says his markings and coloring are beautiful and show quality but he is too big to show. I don't care care that he is not show quality because I didn't adopt him for that purpose. I picked him to be my pet and companion not to make me money. I wouldn't trade him for the world. He's my baby. I wish I had a pic of him to put up here. I think Larry is a dollbaby as well. His markings are also beautiful and Im sure you wouldnt trade him for the world. If you ask me our boys are much cuter than some of the tiny poms that are in those dog shows. Some of there faces are not very cute.
Sep 18, 2007 animalcrazye
he looks mixed but im not one to talk all as i can say is i whave been wanting a pom for soooo long!!!

I have a Pom too. He's a blonde Pom named Stuie. I love these dogs. I love your black and white baby! So so cute!! :)

Larry is definitely all Pom - no doubt in my mind. He looks exactly like my all black Pom Myndi. She is 12 years old and her weight ranges between 10-11 pounds. She is AKC registered also. Just because she doesn't fit the show standard of 3-7 pounds doesn't make her a mix with another breed. Poms were bred down to their small size - originally they were 30+ pounds - just to those of you that know nothing about them but think you do.
Larry - you are 100% adorable and 100% Pom and don't let anyone tell you any different! My 100% Myndi sends you a big doggie kiss and tail wags and all the biscuits you want!
Jan 22, 2008 Bernadinereid
WOW! We sure have a lot of Pom. experts here that know absolutely nothing about the breed! My friend has 2 Poms., both from the same litter. One weighs 4# and the other 10#. Both are females, the larger one could be Luckys litter mate except her spots are orange. Just because a Pom doesn't look like the ones you see in the show ring does not mean that it is a mixbreed, not that there is anything wrong with that either!

Larry is adorable. And I myself have two different pomeranians, both of them akc certified, with all the paperwork. My female *savannah, looks like a fox and has long legs, is very petite, and has the same long face as larry. She has different parents than my other pom *boogie who also has a long face, but is shorter, and is stalky, with a much fuller coat than savannah. I bought them both from the same kennel, but like I said they have different parents. Savannah is over 1 year of age, and weighs in at only 7 pounds. She is tan with a light cream color on her belly. And Boogie is only 8-9 months old and already weighs 10 pounds, with a mouch fuller coat, he is white with a very slight tan tinge along his back. Yet both of them have the long face, but weight, body style, and coat are competely different from one another. And like I stated before, I have the paperwork for both of them, and was actually lucky enough to see both sets of parents before puchasing them. I believe that Larry is indeed a pure bred pom. So for all of these so called know it all's, you should really look up the history of the pomeranian and get your facts straight!! Many bisquits and puppy kisses to Larry!!

The 3rd pic looks kinda; like one of my dogs, Scamp. If you would like to see how they look the same, go to you tube and type in: anika tyler young. It should be the only video. If not, it is called: Save th Dogs. By the way Larry is adorable!!!!

We have a Pom that is IDENTICAL to Larry with a slightly smaller snout. He came with all the paperwork, but considering he has grown to 21lbs, we have our doubts about his breed ha ha. We have a lot of theories, but the latest is Japanese Spitz & Pom. Larry's snout is a bit more German Spitz looking though. Either way, we don't get offended if he's not pure bred. We loooovvvvvvvve him either way. I often contemplate getting the DNA test done that consists of a swab or something that you send away & they mail you back results, but then I think.....who cares. Nice dog!

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY. LARRY BREAKS MY HEART. I AM IN LOVE.

I think Larry is VERY cute. We have 4 poms now but have owned 8 all together. Our 2 yrs old pom Koda is 21 lbs. I know both parents so I know he is full pom. I also know his lineage for 4 generations back. Our other poms are 6 lbs - 12 yrs, 4 lbs - 1 yr, 2 1/2 lbs - 8 months old. I also know and have seen another pom that was 15 inches at the shoulder and weighed 25 lbs. His mom and dad were 5 and 6 lbs. In my opinion they are just a throw back to the original spitz dogs. Thank you for sharing.

That dog is a Pomeranian. They could look very different in ugly puppy stage!! But he is cute. He will have shorter ears (with more hair) long coat in 3 months.... Pomeranians have their final coat in year 1-2. So IT IS A POMERANIAN
Sep 16, 2011 hakri
Oh and for more infos: German Spitz, American Eskimo Dog and Pomeranian have the same roots! Difference is their size and color....
