Nigel's mom says: Nigel "Brutus" was born on August 22, 2006, and was ironically named. Every time I take him on a walk, I always hear at least once, "Dangerous dog you got there. Better keep him off the streets!" He's the most attention-stealing, playful, loyal dog I've ever come in contact with. When you sit down on the couch, he will literally jump up on your lap and get up in your face--pressing his puppy fuzzed chest fur against your face, licking you until your face is pruned. He has two sisters, Pickles the wise and oldest, and Peanut the silly playmate. Nigel loves to run around and play in the snow, and to play tag. He also loves sleeping for hours in any position imaginable--as long as he is near me or one of my immediate family members. We couldn't be any happier to have him in our family.

I have never seen a long haired duchshund before and man, is he the cutest!!! Love the fuzz, love the look in his eyes (he's totally harmless - he only has love!), love his ears and oh my word, his poses! :D

sorry about that i meant the second to last one where he is sitting by the door. they say dogs cant smile but i beg to differ and here is one who does. my little cockapoo Baba smiles as well. anyway, i tried to change the fave photo i chose to the one where i think he is smiling the most.... very sweet puppy. i wish you many happy years together....

ADORAPUPPLE! OK, now I have to start persuading the husband that another dog would be a great idea. Just a small one! What a beautiful puppy (and I'm loving Brutus as a name too, even if it is a nickname).

Nigel, you are such a handsom fellow!! Our Dorie is 2 years older, but you have the same habits she does. She can't control her licker, either ;-) . Your family is very lucky to have you. Gosh this puppy is cute. I have 2 large Bernese Mtn Dogs and if I ever adopted a small dog, it would be a dog just like Nigel. Happy New Year and long lives to all.

Ahhh- so sweet! Nigel Brutus would fit in nicely with my wiener pack, Weasel, Pooter, Jack and Rudy (longhair black and tan, short hair black and tan, longhair red, and dapple with a blue eye!) Nigel Brutus would add a beautiful new color to the pack! And, dont they have so much fun when they have brothers and sisters to play with? He looks incredibly happy!! Have fun!

As a Doxie fan myself, I LOVE Nigel!!! I think the picture of Nigel asleep on the sofa with his little ear spread out, and his paws up, is sooooo sweet!! Puppies sleep sooo cute!!! Nigel is a beauty, and I too love the little "smile" on that sweet face....and I also agree, dogs DO have many expressions,...smiling is definitely one of them! Tons of biscuits to Nigel, and a very Happy New Year to Nigel and his family!!!!!

What a darling puppy! Many years ago I had a West Highland White Terrier and lived in a neighborhood where most people had very large dogs that were muzzled! I used to get the same kind of comments about my "ferocious dog" and would respond with: "Actually she's a Doberman Pinscher disguised in a Westie outfit". It was hard to pick a favorite picture. I love creams; I love long-haired doxies; and I love this little boy of fluff. They are 10 lbs. of ove in a 5 lb sausage.

awww, what a sweet puppy. It is obvious that he? is a long hair doxie. Beautiful dog. I have a doxie/ beagle mix who is short haired, but i love his face with the dachshund markings. And, the photography is great.
Nigel you are a cutie pie and it is clear that you simply do not take a bad picture.LOL! They are so expressive but i finally picked this one of him looking out the window. We had doxies several years ago and the one Tiny she was clearly my dog and loved looking out the window especially in the car and she to had an extremely fast tongue. Enjoy your baby mine was 17 years old when she moved on to puppy dog heaven.

Bravery can come in very small packages. My doxie Lady was very protective of her litter. She tried to defend our house years ago when 2 burglars broke in. They were able to to block her into a corner with the sofa, but she put up a good fight until then. Luckily she was not seriously injured when they kicked her.
He is a great dog! Protect his back/cartilage by eliminating jumping (up or down) and stairs. These guys are suseptible to serious back injuries. Our 3 year old recently had successful surgery for two herniated disks. Good luck.

I love this breed they are not afraid of anything my little himie chased a black bear out of camp one year till he got high centred on a log, couldn't lift his back legs up after his back surgery 2,400.00 worth and worth every penny ,there loving and loyal, I've raised all kinds of dog and timber wolfs and love them all but dachshunds have my heart and you have and little adorable one their love him and he will love you back ten fold I promise I have three of them if I could I would have more, god bless and have a long life, the wienerdog man.

What a darling. I am mommy to 2 mini's. There is never a dull moment with doxies. I can tell "Nigel Brutus" keeps you busy. He looks like he is filled with personality and oh so cute!

Just so, sooooo darling! I had a dachsie when I was growing up, Schatzi. He was the answer to years of prayers for a dog. He was an incredible charachter, very very smart, a great watchdog (we used to tell people that he was a German Shepherd in disguise!) & the family clown! He was a brindle smooth hair---now dachsies come in soo many different colors! I love his long wavy blondness--& the eyelashes!! If he were a girl Monroe would have been the name I'd choose!
