Oakley's dad says: My puppy, Oakley, is 11 weeks old. He has short but amazing surges of energy followed by a few hours of naps. I could never have expected a new puppy to adjust as well as he has to his new home. Never any crying, always happy to be outside, in the car, and meeting new people. He has adopted his crate as his sanctuary and has learned some basic tricks already, including the ever popular fetch. He was however a bit tentative at being introduced to water during his first bath, but I am sure that will change. Sleeping...

awww he is soo cute it must be ruff being a puppy sleeping and playin all day but it never looked so cute the way he does it, keep up the great work.
i can only imagine if he accidentally turn on the jacuzzi jets! he's adorable, and i've never seen a puppy sleep so much!

Aww, just gorgeous. Do remember that bathing dogs strips vital oils from their hair; vets recommend that you only do it when absolutely necessary(ie. when rolled in something nasty!) Dogs' hair is self-clean!

Looks like a puppy farm in the background, ick. He is cute though of course. We have a litter of homeless Goldens at our shelter now...adopt people! 1 in 10 dogs in shelters are purebred and 1 dog is put to sleep every 2 seconds in our country because of overpopulation. Breeding is like ordering food at a buffet....
I love love LOVE golden retrievers in all shapes and sizes! Yours definitely only convinced me more that one is in my future! Oakley is VERY cute!

NOTE TO ALICE: Bathing dogs isn't as harmful as people seem to think, Alice. In fact, many vets recommend frequent bathing with the proper shampoos for dogs with skin irritations.
NOTE ABOUT ADOPTION: While I agree that adoption is excellent, it is not necessary to always remind people with pups that adoption is good. It's a little like telling a pregnant woman that there are many children in the world living in orphanages and foster care. It's a good sentiment, but be careful not to judge from limited information (like these photographs).

LOVE Goldens! Love the sleeping sitting up pic. My littlest Yorkie does a sinilar thing...he sleeps with his upper torso up in the air (and sleeping a lot is normal for puppies) Absolutely too precious for words!

JULIA & SHIBAINU: I wasnt telling Oakleys dad to adopt, (DUH! he has one!) I was using it as a chance to tell OTHERS who may be interested in a Golden that it is possible to find them at a shelter, like I said we have several, im not trying to ruin anything Im trying to help homeless animals. People run across a breed they like on here and may want to adopt one is all. If you dont like what I say, pay it no mind. But if someone finds it interesting, then maybe some dogs lives' will be saved....got a problem with that!?!?!?!?!

First: he's an absolute doll. All puppies are love-bugs, but Goldens are especially cute pups. Hug this one for me.
Second: I bathe my dogs a lot, as they hike and swim and tromp in mud and muck, and they sleep with me. They have rich, beautiful coats and no skin irritation at all. I attribute their healthy skin and coats to thier nutrition. p.s. I wash my own hair quite frequently - why would that be different?

One of the cutest puppies ever! One suggestion on bathing, with my lab mix we spray her with the hose. She loves it until we use the soap. Then spary her off again. She LOVES to play in the water! Good luck!
