Oliver's dad says: This is my little boy, Oliver. His official
name is Oliver von Drool. Oliver loves having his picture taken and
steals the show wherever we go. His favorite pastime is finding any
excuse to get wet!
Oliver is such a handsome, huge puppy!!! I love his name, and his face is so expressive--he seems to have a different expression in every photograph, and all of them are either so comical or so serious that i couldn't help laughing. :P
Enjoy your big boy!
What a sweet face! I just love that goofy-sweet yet noble expression. His fur looks really cool when he's wet, like dreadlocks. Hope you have lots of fun with him!
Oh how I LOVE Newfies! Oliver is no exception. He really does love to have his picture taken. Not so sure about the gradution cap, though. He is a beautiful baby. Doggy hugs and kisses to him.
We have two Newfs...they are such an amazing breed...if you can get past the shedding and the drool...their problem solving and communication skills are amazing.
Oliver!! Congratulations on being puppy of the day! I'm here <--- waving, just a ferry ride away from you! I wonder if they will ever have a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever as puppy of the day? Anyway, you are cute and fuzzy and wonderful--- and your breed won at Westminster a couple of years ago, so YAAY YOU!! Hope your people have lots of years of fun with you!
Oliver is beautiful. I once attended a New Year's party where the hostess and I assisted some other guests to revive by bringing in her 7 Newfs. Since then I have held these dogs in my heart.
What an adorable little boy! And those soulful eyes, so beautiful. Oliver von Drool, we hope you have a long and healthy life, filled with fun and love and lots of water!
Oliver is beautiful! I love every picture, but I had to laugh out loud at the fifth one. He really looks like he's explaining his soggy state to the camera: "See, a funny thing happened on my way to the backyard..." Ha ha! I LOVE him! 11 biscuits and many snorfly kisses to you, Oliver!
Oliver is absolutely wonderful. I have two Newfy babes myself-Lily and Moose. They are truly a unique breed. They either look like they're up to something or they're in deep thought. I feel blessed to have them. Thank you for sharing Oliver with us.
Awwwwwwwww! When I was a kid, I grew up with seven newfies (starting with one, then breeding her, etc...). This little guy takes me back. Par for the breed, swimming is second only to eating. They just love to get wet! One winter a newf got out and ran to a neighbor's pond (breaking the ice and wimming around)... she came home with icicles hanging from her.
Her first puppy was always held on our laps when we travelled in the car (a van). When she grwe up she didn't want to give up that privilege, but she couldn't fit any more... so she ended up with her front half on the lap and her rear half standing on the floor of the van.
Enough old newfie stories... I hope you and Oliver enjoy each other as much as I enjoyed living with our newfs!
He is adorrrrrrable!! We read story at school about Seaman, the Newfie that travelled with Lewis & Clark, and the kids LOVED that dog (and the book). I can picture Oliver in a canoe, ready to jump in and lead the explorers to land!
OMG! he os so adorable. as you may tell from my username i absolutely love newfies. they are so big and fluffy and granted while they are drool machines they are so lovable that we forgive them. i know many newfies and love them all. enjoy every moment of your life with Oliver.
What sweeeet puppy!! Words are hard to find how to describe how beautiful he is! Newfies are such a gentle breed. I LOVE the name! I'm sure he steals the show wherever he goes! Many puppy hugs and kissses for him!
As a happy owner of a wonderful Newfie (her name is my password) I can only second (or third or twenty-fifth) the comments about how wonderful and magnificent Newfies are. Oliver is just the sweetest looking little guy (who won't be little very long). Playing in the pool or the ocean with a Newf is one of the great joys of life and it's so much fun when our Newfie club goes to the beach at the place where Magnum PI was filmed for a picnic. Watching the reactions of people to 25+ Newfies frolicking in the water is a huge joy. I'm constantly whispering to my little(?) girl: "live long and prosper." The only bad comment that can ever be made about these gentle giants is their life expectancy isn't the best. But Newfies rule! Thanks for all those great photos.
He is a gorgeous boy. I have a black newf also. He just turned two last month and it sounds like his personality is the same as Olivers's. Newfies are great for snuggles. Enjoy
OMG!!! Oliver is so adorable - like a fuzzy toddler! I love pic # 6 where he is wet and has his mouth open. I mean, come on! How can you not want to snorggle that mass of wet love?!? Enjoy your little (ha ha) man and give him. Big sloppy puppy kisses!
OH BOY! WHat a dog! How much fun must it be to roll around with that little big guy? Wow. Love him. Just look at those paws! And that fur and those eyes!
I just love his soulfull eyes. He has such an innocent look but I'm sure he is a little mischievious at times. Lots of luck with such a beautiful animal.
Being a fan oh giant breed dogs,I could not resist this wonderful gentle giant, he looks like he will grow up to be a big handsome boy and much fun to boot.
"Near this spot are deposited the remains of one who possessed Beauty without Vanity, Strength without Insolence, Courage without Ferocity, and all the Virtues of Man, without his Vices. This Praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery if inscribed over human ashes, is but a just tribute to the Memory of Boatswain, a Dog."
-Lord Byron's tribute to his Newfie.
Newfoundlands are the BEST and ONLY dogs to have! I love it when they are "teenagers" and go through that "Planet of the Apes" stage. I used to call mine "Roddy" because she looked like Roddy McDowell in that movie. And when they get wet, Rastafarians. You are SO LUCKY!
Awwwww look at him!! He is absolutely adorable and those eyes are like buttons on his face! You're very lucky to have Oliver, I'm sure he's going to grow up to be a handsome little fella!
Enjoy your big boy!
