Roxie is so beautiful! She looks so attentive and smart-I just love Bully Dogs! Every full or partial pit I've ever had or been around was a wonderful, loyal dog, and I think the majority are the same way. Alot has to do with how you raise her. Pit bulls have too much energy, so wear her out often, train her well, and love her much!
Feb 1, 2008 chicolasa
what an angel! I love her. Enjoy every minute with your darling girl.
Feb 1, 2008 blu430
Aww, Roxy is so beautiful! That silvery fur and blue eyes...what a wonderful baby. I find the stereotypes against pitbulls heartbreaking...I have been fortunate enough to only have good experiences with the breed.
Anyway, give her lots of kisses. She's just lovely.
Feb 1, 2008 nicefrenchgurl
there are no such things as bad breeds, only bad owners.
look at this cuty little face .......
roxy, you won my heart

Oh she's a beautiful girl! And i know that with all the love you give her, she will grow up to be wonderful dog, and definitely not the nasty ones we read about!

She's a beautiful color and she's adorable!

11 biscuits - Roxy you are just stunning. Roxy's mum, an animal is what you bring them up to be. We had an American pitbull and she was the biggest love bug and wouldn't even harm a fly. Enjoy her

she is beautiful. i love the cross on her chest!
Feb 1, 2008 Xabismom65
What No Onesies!!!! No bother Roxy is a lovely little pup with beautiful markings. I agree it is how you raise her but you MUST respect the breed, take good advice and make sure she has lots to do and is well trained and of course gets lots of love and cuddles which from the sounds of it you have covered! Congratulations

Roxy is a beautiful dog!! Lucky you!!

Feb 1, 2008 bongo
She is lovely! She looks very serious--is it just an act? I like this pic where she is showing off her big puppy feet.
Feb 1, 2008 doggieaunt
She's gorgeous!!! I love her "formal photo"; the blue fabric really sets off her fur and eye color, as well as her feminine little pink collar (which, of course, matches the inside of her ears -- so coordinated)!

As an inverterate "puppy harrasser," I obviously always first check with the owners as to whether a puppy (or grown-up pup) is friendly. The vast majority of pits of all ages have been friendly, and upon getting acquainted utter marshmallows. They almost seem to be extra affectionate, sadly, as though they're grateful when someone isn't afraid of them or prejudging them.

If I were there, I'd give Roxy loads of scritches and a couple of pig ears, and I strongly suspect I'd get lots of kisses in return. Viva Roxy!!!
Feb 1, 2008 Mary V
I love Roxy's pink pads on her feet and those eyes!! My boys could eat pig ears all day!! They love them too but I have to give sparingly or they will be blimps! she is adorable.

Roxy is seriously cute! And I totally agree with what everyone else on the forum has said - there are no bad breeds just bad owners - though I dont think that's Roxy's problem at all! :) Generic breed banning and vilification should be fought against!! Anyways - doggy politics aside ... I wish you many years of love and joy with your new baby. A big kiss for her sweet little nose and of course a gazillion biscuits.
Feb 1, 2008 savon19
Love the way she sits! SOoo CUTE!!

And a beautiful pup, for sure.
Feb 1, 2008 coyne12
Love all the pics. of your precious Roxy. Stereotypes are not a good thing, whether it's dogs or people. I'm sure you'll do a great job raising Roxy, and wish you all many blessings & happy times together.
Feb 1, 2008 maddie's mom
roxy is beautiful. i love the breed. they are so gentle and sweet despite what ignorant people think. and bad owners.
i am glad she has such a happy home with you.
however pig ears are very unhealthy.
pizzles are a better choice, and the healthiest is to boil (for a good hour) a real bone from your butcher. this way is is hard, clean, and not dangerous to the dog, and clean for your home. dog will be busy for a long time, in my case for a few months now.
Feb 1, 2008 maddie's mom
a bone from beef NEVER CHICKEN!!!!! bc dog can choke
make sure bone is big and smooth....
Feb 1, 2008 anniebabes52
Roxy, you make me fall in love! What a beautiful baby girl you are! Tons of hugs, kisses, and biscuits. Best wishes for a happy, loving, and long life to you and your family.........Enjoy
Feb 1, 2008 Terry C
She is gorgeous.

The bad rep this breed has....unwarranted. Bad owners make bad dogs. I always say they should make it illegal to breed people who do this to dogs.

There are people in my town who have pit bulls. They have these dogs well socialized and well trained. One gentleman has a white pit bull and he made sure that when he walked her as a puppy, he encouraged children and other pets to come play with her.
Feb 1, 2008 Terry C
Never give a dog chicken bones.

They splinter and do horrible things to a pet's mouth and intestines.
Feb 1, 2008 zoerosesmom
Oh my gosh, she does have a Cross on her chest! She is TRULY BLESSED. She is a beautiful little girl - love that pink puppy tummy! Tummy rubs all around!
Feb 1, 2008 rockysmama
rocky would love you! what a beautiful little puppy.
Feb 1, 2008 honeygreeneyes
YES, THIS BREED IS BADLY MISUNDERSTOOD! I HAD A PIT BULL YEARS AGO AND HE WAS THE SWEETEST BOY! WHEN I WAS SITTING DOWN HE WOULD DRAPE HIMSELF AROUND MY SHOULDERS AND LICK MY FACE, EARS, AND NECK! ENJOY YOUR PRECIOUS BABY!!

Roxy does look like a sweetie. Very cute!
Feb 1, 2008 billduran
What a little sweetie, I've always suspected Faith mas chow/pit bullx vx. lab/chox. Very lovie dovie dogs, treat her well and she'll do the same. Just keep in check burst of dominance that may come out in spurts. . . my Faith would always have to let everyone know she was in charge at our neighborhood dog park

Feb 1, 2008 rosy
What a pretty little girl--my experience with this breed has been nothing short of wonderful--billions of biscuits and hugs!!!
Feb 1, 2008 ziggysmom
PITBULLS ARE VERY VERY VERY VERY MISUNDERSTOOD. ANY DOG CAN BE MEAN IF YOU RAISE IT TO BE. I HAD ONE AND HE WAS THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE. THE LANDLORD MADE ME GET RID OF HIM BECAUSE OF THE INSURANCE CO. WHAT DOES A BREED HAVE TO DO WITH INSURANCE???? IT IS DISCRIMINATION AGAINST THIS BREED. ANYONE HAVE A PETITION I CAN SIGN AGAINST THIS? I WOULD WHOLE HEARTEDLY. I MISS MY BABY?
I CAN SEE YOURS IS A COMPLETE SWEETIE TOO. LOVE HIM AND HE WILL LOVE YOU BACK THREEFOLD.
Feb 1, 2008 kurtzhell
She's great!!! We have a "Dutchess" at our house and she is the friendliest dog ever. Just remember to teach her to release when she has something in her mouth.

I once misunderstood Pits too but no more. They are loving and wonderful dogs. It is how you raise them, just like a child. You love them, treat them right, show them how to behave and they give you joy and make you proud. She is beautiful!!! A lifetime of biscuits for Roxy.
Feb 1, 2008 bopeep
Yeah, a happy pit bull story! I've only had the pleasure of being up close and personal with one pit bull and she was the sweetest, most lovable little girl. Unfortunately because this breed is banned in my city the young lady who had this baby moved where pits are allowed. Roxy is gorgeous and I wish you many happy years with this little beauty. Hugs, kisses and 11 biscuits from Kansas USA.
Feb 1, 2008 ceallaig
You look sooooo much like the Roxy who comes to visit next door!! She has white feet but other than that, you could be twins! What a beauty, and make sure you're a good ambassador for your breed, sweetheart! How can you not love a face like that? I agree the breed is totally misunderstood -- four of my dog's 'cousins' are pit or part pit, and you couldn't ask for sweeter more loving dogs (not to mention bed hogs and couch potatoes!) These guys came from abusive backgrounds, and it didn't make them mean.

Off my soapbox -- many happy years with that gorgeous girl! PS you need to get her a friend named Velma, or maybe a boyfriend named Billy Flynn .... just sayin' ... lol
Feb 1, 2008 Daa_of_Night
So... you're letting her keep the tail, I take it. Good! Unless there's a bone structure problem, a dog's tail is 50% of its ability to communicate with us dumb humans.
Feb 1, 2008 aden1994
she is beautiful!
i love the color of her eyes.

you're very lucky to have a dog like her!!!
Feb 1, 2008 puppylove23
What a cool dude!
Feb 1, 2008 Joyce
Love her baby blue eyes. Enjoy your puppy
Feb 1, 2008 Paco's Mom
She is absolutely adorable. Her color and eyes are stunning! I agree with what everyone else says...pitbulls, rottweilers, doberman pinschers, are misunderstood. It always has to do with how they were raised. My only advice to you, is be careful with the pig ears! I have heard of a lot of cases where the dogs need surgery because the pig ears get stuck!
Feb 1, 2008 katetrav
Roxy is beautiful!!! Her eyes are incredible. She looks so inconocent and sweet. I wish you both a life full of kisses and puppy love.
Feb 1, 2008 countryflicka13
The first picture hadn't even loaded yet and I knew I was going to comment. I was so excited to see a pit bull on here! I absolutely adore them. It's hard not to when I work with so many on a regular basis (I work in a humane society). People are so ill-informed about them, it's ridiculous. I hope you have many wonderful years of being a good breed ambassador!
Feb 1, 2008 RyDoggy

What a cutie! I really love her. You are soooo lucky to have such an adorable little angel. Treasure and love her always. She is beautiful.
Feb 1, 2008 moviefreak
I love Roxie's coloring! It's almost like a Weim's coloring, only darker. I too have always liked the pit bulls that I have known. They are a very misunderstood breed. She looks adorable and I know that you will enjoy many happy years with her. I also love this puppy sit. I think it's so cute when little pups do this! :)
Feb 1, 2008 puppyl0ve
Roxy is absolutely gorgeous! Love those eyes!
Feb 1, 2008 k_cyn
Oh Roxy you are soooo beautiful!!! I love your color and eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Being this cute should be illegal! :) It is sad that pitbulls get a bad rap. I have one and she's the most loving and sweet dog ever! People don't understand that the problem is not the dog, but the owner. If you raise a pitbull with love, then he/she will be as loving as any other breed. Roxy you are soooo lucky you found a great home. I'm so happy for you!!!
Many kisses, hugs and biscuits (pig's ears) haha to you!
Happy New Year and best wishes always!!! :)

Feb 1, 2008 Marlowe's Mom
It's so nice to see a dog of this breed being raised properly, as a pet. One of my neighbours has a pit/Lab mix, and he is truly one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met, and my beagle loves him too.

Roxy is one beautiful & elegant girl. She will grow to be a stunning adult. More importantly she looks to be a total love and sweetie. Live long and happy Ms. Roxy!
Feb 1, 2008 FRITZY
Roxy is precious!!! I am not normally drawn to the breed, but who can deny that Roxy is very cute!!! I am so happy for her because she is blessed with a human who loves her!!! :)

This is a wonderful photo - with the pink collar and heart - Roxy is sleek and gorgeous. So glad she is so loved. Good luck to you and your sweet girl.

Wow I was so happy to see a pit on the front of the daily puppy! I actually registered just to leave a comment! She is beautiful! I also have an American Pit. She was actually suppose to be the color of your Roxy but as she got older her coat got darker but she looks very similar to your girl! I feel like a bad mother becuse I have yet to submit her pictures. However when I do I hope that you will enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed yours and I wish we could have a play date because My Sasha loves other dogs and animals as well!

I had such a hard time picking a favorite photo, but this one won out because Roxy has such a sweet, cute face! She is a beautiful color, too--gorgeous fur!

Roxy-You are a beautiful baby. Beautiful shining coat and eyes to match your stunning personality. I love photo #5 because your white chest mark looks just like a paperdoll to me. XOXOXOX

11+++++++++++ biscuits for Foxy Roxy!!! There are a lot of breeds out there that are misunderstood & because of this homeowners insurance is affected because their thought is assume the dog will bite & someone will sue. But anyone can see from their cute little faces how sweet they really are. Just like kids, if you raise them right they will be good little "girls" & "boys". Enjoy all your years with Roxy & give her lots of kisses on her cute little nose.

I'm so excited to see a Pit on this site. I found a stray young female about 4 months ago and we love her like crazy. She's one of the sweetest dogs we've ever had. Roxie is just adorable! Her color and markings are beautiful. Thanks for choosing her and giving her such a loving home. Please continue to be an advocate for this totally misunderstood breed. Oh yes...for sure 11 Biscuits!!
Feb 1, 2008 mqm501
I agree with the other posters. Sadly the pitbull as a breed has been corrupted by evil people using them in the despicable practice of dog fighting and by the totally ignorant buying them as a macho status symbol. I have only ever met one pitbull many years ago in the U.K. (before they were banned there) and he was a real charmer. He belonged to a gamekeeper and spent all day outdoors - well trained and well exercised - and was a very happy chappie.
Roxy is a beauty - lovely colouring. I couldn't resist this photo of her "sloppy sitting". So cute. May you have many happy years together. Very Best wishes from Spain.
Feb 1, 2008 sylvanbliss
It would appear that American Pitbull Terriers aren't so misunderstood, at least here! If only all dogs could be treated with the love we Daily Puppy people feel for our canine friends.

Roxy is gorgeous! This picture should be rendered in oil paints.
Feb 1, 2008 jesster102
I'm so excited to see a Pit Bull on here! These are the best dogs ever and yours is truly beautiful. Her coloring is wonderful. I have had pits all my life and they are so misunderstood! Just a little piece of advice, always give her something to chew on. I have a 6 yr old male pit and he will chew on the fence, on the side of the house, on the couch,on anything if he doesn't have a bone! Enjoy many happy years with Roxy!

"There are no bad breeds, only bad owners"

And let's not forget, bad breeders. Sadly, some people do breed for aggression and encourage it from birth, creating puppies that have anger management issues before they even leave their mothers. :(
Feb 1, 2008 lotsadoghair
Lovely girl! She should always wear blue. . .
Feb 1, 2008 CorgiMomma
I love the look on her face here! She looks like she is entreating you to come play. I love the blue color. Keep her safe and well loved - she deserves it!
Feb 1, 2008 Doggymommy
I love how you picked out your bed sheets to match Roxy's eyes!!!!!

She is beautiful and looks like the perfect little lady. By the way, I love the breed!!!!!!
Feb 1, 2008 carmelvizsla
what a beautiful girl! i love your pictures, Roxy. You are have such a pretty coat and lovely eyes.
Feb 1, 2008 pomtzu
Roxy looks like a sweet little lady.
I have to agree - it's not the breed, but how they're raised - 99% of the time. I only ever met one pitbull in person and he was a gentle old boy. However I had a co-worker that had a Rottie that was pure evil. He had a very loving home but was out of control. He got kicked out of obedience school - nothing worked for this dog. He attacked the husband on several occasions. It's not like he had a traumatic experience early in his puppyhood, nor was he abused or neglected - he was in this home from the time he was 6 or 8 weeks old. But on the other end of the scale, when my grandson was younger, he went to a home daycare that had a resident Rottie. All the kids played with her, climbed all over her on the floor and could do just anything with her. She was a gentle giant!
Any dog can be dangerous no matter what the breed or how big or small. It's just that some get singled out as the vicious ones no matter what.
I don't think Roxy will ever give anyone a problem. Enjoy her thru many years and adventures.
And 11+++++ biscuits for you Foxy Roxy! You're a beauty!
Feb 1, 2008 thebes1966
Hi there. Jane here from England. I just registered so I could place a comment on about Roxie. How gorgeous is she? I just love the colouring and the eyes, very unusual...and cute. It seems that so-called "dangerous"dogs are being destroyed on a daily basis here in the UK because they bite their owners (who usually have small children that the dog becomes jealous of). I'm not making excuses for the dogs but, really, some owners have no idea how to treat them...and it's the dog that gets labelled aggressive, not the owners. Seeing how sweet Roxie is made me realise how the owner of this particular dog treats her properly. Good for you! Lots of kisses and belly rubs for Roxie, I love her!
Feb 1, 2008 gaiachild88
A beautiful angel girl!! Her colors and eyes make me melt. Our 4 legged children become who we teach them to be in their early years. Your Roxie will always be a wonderful friend and a joy to be with.
Feb 1, 2008 bigbobbie123
I love American Pit Bull's heads--just beautiful. And, yes, I believe there are no bad dogs--only bad owners. I think this wonderful breed, along with the Rottweiler, have gotten bad raps. What a wonderful puppy this is!
Feb 1, 2008 mushu&buddysmom
Roxy Roxy Roxy!!! You have made my day! You are the most beauitful. I have owned multiple pitties in my life, even as a child, and my family has always loved this breed. My daughter who is only 12 is already planning on when she can have her very own. I have never met a breed more loveable and affectionate than a pit.

I thoroughly agree with Doggieaunt on how they seem grateful for not being prejudged. They waggle from head to tail when someone comes to pet them and their big eyes and smiles just scream "love me, hug me, pet me and I will love you back forever!!!"

Roxy - you are a gorgeous little lady and many many happy years to you and your family!
Feb 1, 2008 stormsamson
What a sweet princess! Love Ya Roxy!
Feb 1, 2008 petluver
What a sweetheart Roxy is!! I would not hesitate to have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier(that is the correct name for these beautiful dogs) I don't know how they got the name "PIT" When you raise a dog with love, they are not going to be mean! Roxy sure does love to pose for the camera!! Many biscuits and belly rubs to Roxy!!
Feb 1, 2008 postiemayer
Beautiful Dog. Love the way puppies sit like this on their little butts before they learn to sit up on their haunches. I have to tell you, I carry mail for the post office and I have only had a problem with one pit bull, and the fracas was actually started by a cocker spaniel! There are many other dogs, usually the smaller ones that I have to watch out for. I can tell you love this pretty baby and if you teach her to be a good canine citizen, you should be fine. Unfortunately, it will be hard to change the perception of a lot of people on these dogs with all the media exposing the dog fighting things. Okay, enough of my soapbox, I hope you have many happy, healthy years together
Feb 1, 2008 lushpuppy
Roxy is Stunning! I am a Pitbul owner myself (a silver brindle) and I know just how sweet and loving these dogs can be. It's a shame the bad name the breed has gotten when all these wonderful dogs want to do is please their owners. I know my pitlet is my best friend and her kisses at the end of the day make everything alright, many happy years with Roxy, and just make sure you show her all the love she deserves and she she will return the favor two-fold. 15 biscuits at least!!!!
Feb 1, 2008 lushpuppy
I forgot to add a picture......love the way she is sitting!
Feb 1, 2008 piobaire
I picked this picture because she looks like velvet here. We have friends with a pit bull named Izzy, and she's the softed most loving dog. They tell everyone she's an American Staffordshire Terrier which is basically true so they can avoid the stereo-type. Anyway, if Roxy is anywhere as lovely as Izzy you have yourself a wonderful dog. Give her a tummy rub and a couple of biscuits from Idaho!

My personal belief is this : ALL DOGS ARE GOOD; ALL PEOPLE ARE QUESTIONABLE! I have been a dog owner for nearly 8 years, and I know personally a couple of dozens Pit Bulls. Most of them are the sweatest dogs you want to meet. Roxy, you are a show stopper! Eleven biscuites, tons of pig ears, and many years of happy togetherness with your family! God bless!

Roxy is such a pretty little lady! I feel very bad for her breed - people are so cruel to them. She's so lucky to have a great home with you. I wish you all the happiness in the world with her! ;-)

Roxy has a sweet face & I love the gray.
20 years ago 1 Pitbull down the street attacted an old man & they tried to make them illegal in our town. You can't blame a breed for 1 poor dog with bad owners, all their dogs were mean. Pits are smart, loving & very trainable. We now have 3 next door & 2 more a few houses away. They are all wonderfull dogs.
I wish your family lots of love & biscuits.
Feb 1, 2008 sadies_mom
ROXY!!! I LOVE YOU!!! You look like my pitbull mix, Sadie. Tell your Mommy and Daddy not to listen to any people who say bad things about pitbulls. They are not bad doggies, it's the bad people who make some of them misbehave.

It's only because pitties are so eager to please that they'll do what their master says, but if their master is mean, they'll end up doing what their master wants. You are so lucky you don't have mean masters like that. The mean people are ignorant. You just show the world how sweet pitties can be.

I have never voted before but visit the Daily Puppy every day. I just HAD to create an account today and give you 11 biscuits because you are the sweetest!!!!!

Rock on, Roxy!!!!!
Feb 1, 2008 sadies_mom
oh, one more thing to ziggysmom and anyone else who wants to fight breed-specific legislation (aka discrimination!!!!!)--just go to google and type in BSL or breed specific legislation. There are TONS of articles and organizations you can get involved w/ and I'm sure there are some petitions out there you can sign to show how ridiculous BSL is. I know I'd move out of the country if they ever told me I had to get rid of my pittie mix baby. BSL is STUPID!!
Feb 1, 2008 Bubba and Zoey's Mom
What a beautiful baby!! We have one pit mix and one bulldog mix. The bully breeds are wonderful, loving dogs and both of ours are great with kids. Sadies's mom is right about them being eager to please, they just want to be loved. Enjoy Roxy and give her lots of kisses and belly rubs from me.
BTW Petluver: The American Staffordshire Terrier, the Stafforshire Bull Terrier and the American Pit Bull Terrier and three different but related breeds.

she is such a beautiful puppy and they can be a great breed, mine is the biggest baby and loves people & other dogs. i think with the home & parents roxy has she will be a wonderful dog.

Pitbulls, like any breed, act on the way they are raised. If they're raised in a loving kind home with love and gentleness, this is more then likely how they will be when they're adults. Roxy is an absolutely georgous puppy and will be a strikingly beautiful adult dog. Lots of hugs and kisses to you Roxy.

Awww...what a sweet little face!

Roxy is adorable. APBTs are the best breed ever. It's sad that people who want a family dog don't consider them. We've had Pitties for about 13 years and my current baby is wonderful with my 2 year old. I have been lucky enough to meet many Pit Bulls (mostly because I throw myself in their paths) who are wonderful, loving creatures.
If anyone wants to know more about the breed, or BSL, or current APBT issues, I highly recommend the badrap.org site.

Roxy is just precious. These dogs get such a bad rap! I've had a couple of Pit Bulls and they make wonderful pets. 11 ++++ Biscuits and lots of belly rubs for Roxy!

Roxy is adorable!! I have a female blue pit named Stella, whom I adopted just before her first birthday. While I wish I could have known her when she was a puppy, I am POSITIVE she must have looked exactly like Roxy, pink collar, white chest, and everything! (Minus the blue eyes, Stella's are brown.)

If you want to see what Roxy will look like when she grows up, check out Stella's pics: http://www.flickr.co m/photo...

Kudos to having a pit bull, they're the most amazing dogs ever! Given the right owner of course. :)

She's a real beauty and looks very much like my pit cross Lucy-adopted from the SPCA. The vet there categorized her as a 'terrier cross' in order to avoid euthanising the littler. They have made wonderful pets to every family who adpoted them. Enjoy your beautiful girl.

I'm always glad to hear a happy pit bull story. I hate the horrible things that people have done to this breed. Wish I could give Roxy a scritch on that cute puppy belly!
Feb 1, 2008 cornholio
Amazing! Truly amazing!

Here in the U.K the Pitbull is a much maligned pup due to the owners it attracts - Staffies are now getting the same lame attention. This is as wrong as can be!!! My Grandmother In Law Has a Shih Tzu with a far worse temperament (666 behind the right ear kinda vibe) than any terrier - Staffordshire Bull, American Pitbull or my own personal favorite Border or Cairn Random Cross Terriers. This Shih Tzu has been seen to lunge and friends and enemies alike.

Bottom _____ : lets cut the c**p guys its us not them! It always was - we made em lets keep it real!

Roxy is so lovely. I have had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful Pit Bulls. One is sweeter than the next!
Feb 1, 2008 ottermom
How sweet! Pits are really good dogs, I've had one before and she was a marshmallow. She looks like she's already queen on the house, as it should be. Love the eyes!

such a cute little girl. just love the bullie breeds. have one of my one and she is the sweetest in the world. once you find pit bull love there's no going back. :) you have a precious little puppy there.
Feb 1, 2008 Geena
Such a little sweetheart! The breed should not have a bad name, the ones who train them for bad purposes should have the bad name. I have a friend that has a brother and sister pit bull mix and they are wonderful pets. I am sure Roxy will give you many years of joy!
Feb 1, 2008 mash9093
Roxy is a beautiful little girl......I agree that there is no bad breed, only bad owners. It is all in how they are raised and treated. Lots of hugs & kisses and 11++++++++++biscuits for Roxy. Wishing you many years of happiness and fun with your beautiful girl. Her coloring and markings are awesome.
Feb 1, 2008 nanism
Congrats on the beautiful pittie girl. My baby boy just reached 19 months. They grow up fast and have TONS of energy, so make sure your sweetheart gets plenty of excercise and training. And enjoy the breed, I know I am :)

I AM IN LOVE!!! WOW you can see her pink pig belly!!! wahh nobad dogs only owners! thanks for sharing the best looking dog I ever saw! I wanna kiss her allover!
Feb 1, 2008 zoegirl
She is absolutely gorgeous! I have a pit mix that is just the biggest snuggle bunny!! I adopted him as an adult from a rescue organization so no one knows what his background was -- he was found abandoned on the street. He has issues with other dogs and some other quirks but I really think it's because his original owners didn't spend time training, socializing and playing with him. Pits are sweet loving dogs so please keep socializing your beautiful girl so she can be a good will ambassador for the breed!

I didn't know APBT came in this color,or with blue eyes. She's a pretty girl.

Yay - a pitty - and an absolute doll to boot! That fur and those eyes - wow! Roxy is a stunner - and a good human mixed with a good pitbull - perfect!

Hi Roxie [again]! This is the reaction you will unfortunately get sometimes. Although Delilah's Mom has good reason to hate the breed, it doesn't have to be this way. Just like all breeds, esp. big strong fast breeds, if they are running loose or not being controlled then there will be problems. I've always thought the bully breeds were the ultimate dog, and with that comes a huge responsibility. Obviously Roxie is a sweetheart and you'll have a great life together, but professional training and MUCH exercise is a must.
Feb 1, 2008 Kristen Davis
She is adorable. OMG, she is just sooooooo cute. Definately 11 biscuits and I hope Roxy lives a long happy life. I love her color and her name, and of course that precious face.
Feb 1, 2008 elizzievb
Beautiful sweetie! I love these dogs! And so long as there are people like "puppybates" (who posted above) in the world, where one incident condemns a whole breed in their minds, it's likely things won't change too quickly. Not sure if this is accurate, but I have heard that statistically it is not pitbulls, rotties or dobermans that bite the most -- it is labs!! And we ALL love labs!! Our world is so out of whack sometimes. And I too have heard that Shih Tzu's can be really snippy. For me, if it's furry, I love it. It's the humans I am still not too sure about. Yep, I've heard pigs ears are very bad for doggies -- and especially bad for the pigs!! :-)
Feb 1, 2008 denawolves
Oh I guess they took that comment out. I am glad everyone on this sight sees how great a dog they can be- just like Roxie!
Feb 1, 2008 raychelehd
on a personel level i am afraid of pits because my best friend got attacked by one while she was walking her dog. but she looks like a real cutie have a long and wonderful life with her. and stay safe. :)

She is so beautiful, she looks just like a cute little dog I sold at Wal-Mart!
Feb 1, 2008 honeypie
She's a real beauty! I love her coloring!!
It is not the breed that is the cause of these dogs reputation, it's the owners...though the breed does call for a dominant handler, just like many big strong dogs do...May you have many years of joy with your Roxy and for her a zillion biscuits!!
Feb 1, 2008 tambore
Roxy, judging by all the comments left for you I think the tide is about to turn regarding pit bulls. I believe them to be one of the best and most misunderstood breeds in the USA. I found two young males abandoned in a NY park.... they were obviously abandoned because they didn't have the "killer" instinct.... and had the wounds to prove it. Anyhow, found great homes for them and you must accept your mission to become an ambassadress of Pit Bull goodwill. I have no doubt you will win legions to the cause. Have a spectacular life with your family.
Feb 1, 2008 mosbarger
WOOOHOOOO!!!! Being the pitbull LOVER that I am, I am SOOOO glad Roxy is the cover dog on this issue!!!!!!! I have a 10 year old pitbull named Capone, and he is the sweetest dog EVER. I trust him over anyone's dog. He's great with our kids, other kids, dogs... He has never, in ten years, given me a reason to EVER doubt this breed!!!! I just wish people would educate themselves about this adorable, smart, LOVING breed BEFORE passing judgement!!!! Blame the deed, NOT the breed!!!!!! OK, I will stop now.

My baby girl is a Pitador (Lab/Pit mix) and the sweetest most loving dog ever! I got her from a shelter and she was sick and had been abused. She is healthy now and super loving! I was so glad to see a pittie on this site and Roxy is so gorgeous!

Roxy, what a gorgeous dog! I have heard how wonderful you are! I know that your family thinks the world of you! You are a model for all of the wonderful pit bulls that are out there...thanks for being so darn cute!!!

Roxy is gorgeous. I have a male brindle pit, and he is mean. I am not sure why. I have raised 2 rotties and a few other dogs and they were never mean. I didnt do anything different this time. I am worried he may hurt someone someday. He has already gotten a neighbors cat that came into his yard. I have sought professional help from a retired police dog trainer. Along with my own training experience. Dakota is 6 and he has been aggressive since we got him at around 3 months. He was abused when we rescued him. I have met many pits who are not mean, but I can honestly say that this one is mean by nature. It is sad. With his family and his pets he is good. Loving, cuddly and a big baby. He is funny and smart. But when someone comes to the door he turns into Cujo. We now make sure he is put up when company comes. If the company is not afraid we are able to introduce him and he will be ok as long as the person does not stand up. We have to be careful with him outside too as he does not like other animals. He almost got a neighborhood duck 2 nights ago. He, luckily, ended up with only a mouthful of feathers. That cat was not so lucky. I, like others, never believed there were bad dogs and it was all in the training, I now think differently. I have trained dogs before and this one just has a tick in his brain.

I hope you have a happy, safe and long life with Roxy, she is precious.

ROXY IS GORGEOUS! I'm so glad she found a great home!

As for "bad dogs", check out "The Pit Bull Placebo", a book all about how politics and the media paint terrible pictures of certain breeds at different times in history (ex. during WWII Dobermans got a bad rap because they were "Nazi dogs".) Should be required reading for everyone, and but mostly those bozos who want BSL!

As for insurance companies, State Farm usually doesn't flat-out reject pit bulls. They may want to meet the individual dog, but generally don't drop your coverage just because you have a pit or Rottie or Dobie.

As you may or may not have heard, of the 49 pit bulls taken from Michael Vick and his dogfighting ring, only ONE was so aggressive she was put down. The other dogs are going to be adopted out, although a few may need lifelong care at a sanctuary. Show me 49 abused dogs of any other breed and tell me they'd do any better!

Three of my pits were terribly mistreated by their former "owners". One is still very shy with strangers (although he loves me) and the other two can't wait for their daily walks in the neighborhood so they can get cuddles and administer kisses and tail wags all around! One of these dogs had had all the skin on his neck and back shredded by abuse, had rake marks on his sides, a stab wound in his chest, and was 30 lbs. underweight. His favorite activities now are cuddling and fawning over all the kids he meets.

Go, Roxy! May you have a long and wonderful life free of prejudice!

I've never commented on the board before, but I just had to for Roxie!
I can also vouch that Roxie is a sweet, friendly and happy puppy... because I have one just like her! I plan to upload her pictures to the Daily Puppy... just haven't gotten around to it.
Her name is Zhalla and has "bat ears" just like Roxie does and their markings even bear a likeness! Its like they are from the same litter!
Does Roxie whine when you're not devoting every ounce of attention to her?
Seriously everyone, Pitbulls (and every sort of mix there is to speak of), are the SWEETEST most LOVEABLE dogs to people, children, cats and other dogs. Don't believe the rumors and stigma that are associated with Pitbulls. Its up to the owner to decide if they want a dog like this. They are very smart too and will train very easily, so they are vulnerable to exploitation by "bad owners".
The umbrella laws that ban pitbulls make me sad :(

ENJOY ROXIE!!!! Much love and kisses in the face and jumping up on you all day long!
Feb 2, 2008 megg<3
I agree entirely with all the other posters. Dogs normally get mean when they are treated mean. If you adopt a dog that is mean, that is saying the previous owner abused this new dog and was mean to it, thus making this dog mean. There's always still time and work and patience to make dogs nice, but Roxy doesn't seem to need it since she sounds adorable (and she IS adorable!) and sweet! I myself misunderstood pit bulls, thinking all the bulls were mean just because they were really over-protective and grouchy. Now, I see a new day. :]
I understand them now. thanks for showing me that!
It sounds like you are giving Roxy a great home, and she's utterly precious. If I could, I'd reach through the computer and give her squeezes and kissies. But, sadly I can't. Can you do it for me? Heh. Sounds like millions of dogs love playing in the snow, but unfortuantly in Florida? Never snows. Someday though.. I will get a puppy and bring it to my mountain house in North Carolina and let it play there. :]
11 Buscuits, and if I could give more, I truly would!!!

quadismodo:

God bless you for taking these dogs in and loving.

I would love to have five minutes in a locked room with these mistreaters.....and a Louisville slugger. I'd give them a taste of their own medicine.
Feb 2, 2008 CavalierKate
Look at this LOVELY LADY! She is too gorgeous!

I have to echo what everyone else has said here and say that I was SO EXCITED to see a Pitty on Daily Puppy!! My dear friend has a pit mix from the shelter and she is the most fun little dog! They are such classic companions and so loving if you treat them right - which you definitely are doing a great job of!

I always get beside myself to see a well-loved pit bull terrier because here in Los Angeles, CA the shelters are overcrowded with them and all too often they are the first to be put to sleep, simply because of misconceptions and the gross overpopulation :(

I've always told myself that if I get a house with a nice big yard I would go rescue at least one pit bull from the shelter. I'm still a cavalier-addict through and through, but happy, loving, and adored pitbulls have a special place in my heart.

Enjoy her, she is sweet. My family has had pit bulls that have been some of the most loving dogs I know. Its really sad how they have gotten a bad rap because of bad owners.

A very cute girl puppy! I LOVE puppies & dogs (ummm...yeah, why else would I be here?). However----I have to admit, I tend to cross the street if I am walking w/Ori, my spaniel & I see one coming at us, even one on a leash. I am embarrased @ myself about this. My ex-brother in law had a pit mix they rescued. I was nervous about meeting her, but Dixie was just as sweet, or more than any other dog I've ever met! On the other hand, I was bitten as a child, & my grandmother also bitten by a neighbors Black Lab! This is especially ironic, as the greatest, most delightful, sweetest dog (etc) ever was my black lab, Sharah!
My heart goes out to jadafrmvt---its a horrible position to be in. I sincerely pray for a happy resolution for you & your dog.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy life w/Roxy!

Love your dog. I used to have a Staffordshire Terrier...Sweetest dog in the world. Maybe you know the answer to this question. What is the difference between an American Pitbull and a Staffordshire? I know they are both classified as "Pit Bull" but are they both terriers, or related in any way. Leah sure looks a lot like my Pit.

Just got back on line yesterday and as I am looking back at previous puppies I spotted Roxy! So glad to see an American Pit Bull pup here on the site. She is breathtakingly cute and you can see the intelligence there in those gorgeous eyes. Four years ago I lost my brindle pit Brindy Lou. She was almost 18 years old and was the matriarch of our house full of animals. She was the most affectionate, loving couch potato ever and every kid whoever met her, automatically loved her more than any of the other dogs. I miss her terribly but know I'll see her again someday, somewhere. Lots of love and hugs to Roxy, enjoy her! I'd give her a million biscuits if I could....xoxo from Florida.

I am sooooo happy to see a pit bull on here! I have an AmStaff and he is the most wonderful dog. Yes, they do require some exercise and you want to make sure they are better trained than any other dog (because they are more scrutinized) but you will be well-rewarded. Pit bulls are wonderful with people of all ages (sometimes not so much with other dogs--unless they're in the same family), they're loyal, fun, they have enormous personalities, they can be goofy and caring, and I've *never* met a breed that cuddles better. Nuff said. Enjoy your lovely pup!!
