So sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful baby boy. I lost my precious Sparkly-Sparkles when she was only 5 months old--life can be cruel sometimes, but I'm certain that Sparkles and Teddy are playing together in puppy heaven right now.

With tears in my eyes I humbly submit 11 biscuits...my thoughts are with you...I've been there.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Teddy, he is so beautiful and I would have loved to have known him, he sounds like a real character and a happy little man. He is in puppy heaven now and running free forever young. I have been there too, once this year and in 2005, my heart goes out to you and I wish you peace in your hearts. He sure is 'puppy of the day'. Bless you for loving him.

I have a PRT also, Maddie. They are the smartest and most loving dogs. Her brother Jack was very sick. I know how sad it is to lose a young puppy. Teddy is in my thoughts and prayers. He looks like a teddy bear and I know you miss him.

I'm sure God is looking after Teddy in doggie heaven and he has an everlasting supply of toys and bones to chew to his hearts content. I am so sorry that you lost your precious boy - it must have been heartbreaking especially as he was so young. God bless.

Oh my God, I am so very sorry! Having just lost my beloved Shih-tzu, I know the pain of losing an older dog but I have never lost a puppy and won't pretend to know what that feels like; my tears are for Teddy today and I wish that I could have known him. He is such a beauty and has such a loving look about him. Please know that Teddy is still with you in spirit; I truly believe that. He is healthy and happy too; believe that too. Giving Teddy tons of biscuits...and hugs for both of you.

Oh - I am so very sorry for your loss of your much loved Teddy. What a beautiful boy! I can hardly write for the tears, as my Holly is a PJR and each picture of Teddy reminds me of the same mannerisms, smiles and intelligence of Holly. My heart goes out to you at this most awful time but you have wonderful pictures and no doubt happy memories of your short time spent together. Teddy was so obviously greatly treasured. He was a precious gem.

This was the first time I have seen a gorgeous pup posted that is no longer around and I must admit, I was shocked. But I am also grateful for this reminder that the pain is also very much part of the joy. Sadly, because we love our furry ones so much, our time together is not always for ever. We must treasure and give thanks for what they give us daily and without condition - and hope that we can return the same to them - every day of their life.

So very sorry for your loss.

What a beautiful boy he was. I too know what you're feeling and felt compelled to add my heartfelt condolences. Years ago when we lost our Weimaraner and Vizsla, a neighbor gave us a copy of The Rainbow Bridge. I'm always surprised at the many people who have never heard of it, so I offer it below in hope that it will give you some comfort.

The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called the
Rainbow Bridge, because of its many colors. Just this side of the
rainbow bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass.

Whenever a beloved pet dies, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather so all our
special friends can run and play together. All the animals who had
become ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who are
hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we
remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special
person who loved them on earth and who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches, the ears come up; the bright eyes are intent, the body quivers. Then this one suddenly runs from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the RAINBOW BRIDGE together...never again to be
separated.

- Author unknown

I know in my heart that my wife crossed The Rainbow Bridge last year in the company of 7 rescued dogs that had gone before her. I hope you know you will meet again - God Bless!

The love of a pet will always be with you. Teddy is playing with my Smokey, Bandit, Cody and Katey. My crew has always been labs and I bet Teddy thinks he is just as big as they are. My wish is for you and your family to heal from your pain and that the memory of Teddy and the joy he brought to you is what fills your heart.

I've been a regular vistor to this site for many months but registered for the first time today coz I was so sad to hear about Teddy. I think we have all lost pals and nothing quite makes the hurt go away. But I def. believe that they are all waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge and looking down wondering why we are all so sad. I found the RB online when I lost my beautiful Rott Mishka. So I'm pretty sure Mishk is looking out for Teddy at the Rainbow Bridge and they are playing and eating ice cream together just waiting for us to turn up! Many hugs and kisses to li'l Teddy

Tears for the loss of your wee puppy. I had an alsation puppy that I lost a couple of years ago at the age of one year, due to heart complications that he was born with. Just because we have them only a short time, doesnt mean they were short of love. My heart goes out to you, I know what a difficult thing it is to lose a much loved pet - at any age.

As I sit here with tears streaming down my face, words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. I imagine your Teddy met up with my Cody at the other side of the Rainbow Bridge and they are running and playing to their heart's content, waiting for us to play with them again. What a beautiful little boy.

My heart goes out to you...I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm glad you at least had the time together to touch each others lives. I have no doubt you'll meet again someday - I look forward to meeting my old friends when my time is up.

Love and sympathy to you all.

That just stinks! Losing a sweet, silly terrier! A friend told us the reason doggies don't live longer. If they did we would grieve ourselves to death.
One of the cutest Russells we've seen and we're older than dirt so we've seen a lot.
Nov 19, 2007 Poolkypet
Ohh...I am at work and trying not to cry! I have dreaded the day of losing my first puppy, Wolfy (that I waited for 17 years to get). I am so sorry to hear about your lose and the Rainbow Bridge poem is beautiful. I've often wondered if "all dogs truly go to heaven," and now I do for sure. Here's another poem that will hopefully help with your lose:

"The Broken Chain"

We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly.
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone,
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories.
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the Chain will link again.

i cannot even begin to tell you how sorry i am to hear about beautiful teddy. i too have suffered a broken heart this year over the loss of our ruby and the pain will probably never ease but at least we have the memories and have felt the true love that only a pet can bring to your life. im sure he was a very lucky puppy to have been loved by a family that cared so much for him. my thoughts are with you x

We are so sorry that you had to loose Teddy at such a young age. What a heart breaker!! We've lost many pets through the years and it's never easy, no matter how long you have had them. I pray we will all be reunited in Heaven with our pets, I can't imagine an eternity without them, nor would I want it!! Thank you for sharing your precious baby pictures with us!! I guess you have to look on the positive side and be thankful that you had him in your lives for the 7 months. (((((hugs)))))) from our critter gang.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know that Teddy is over The RainbowsBridge and he is healthy and running and having a wonderful time with all of his new friends. He awaits the day when you will cross the Bridge to join him forever. He has most certainly met my two greyhounds, Judy and Jimmy, who crossed the Bridge on June 30th and August 11th of this year. They with all the rest of the furbabies there, have taken Teddy under their guidance and shown him all the best places. I know how much you miss him. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't expect to see one of the greys. There were a total of 6 in all, and now they have all passed over the Bridge. One day, maybe even today, you might feel the softest whisper of a touch on your check. That will be Teddy sending you a kiss and a reminder that he watches over you and waits for you. God made him your Guardian Angel now, and I am sure he is more than up to the job. Peace be to your hearts, and God be with you in your loss.

I too, am sitting at my desk at work, dabbing tears away from my eyes. My heart goes out to Teddy's family. Saying "I'm sorry for your loss" just doesn't seem enough, but know that it is meant with the most HEARTFELT condolences from the depths of my soul. The pictures of Teddy are priceless and oh so adorable. I'm sure you will treasure them and the time spent with him....always. He will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge, no doubt!

Seven months is a very short time, but Teddy was needed more in heaven, more than likely for a small child who needed him. Know that he IS ok and will be very well taken care of in heaven! God Bless you Teddy. And God Bless Teddy's family.
Nov 19, 2007 kylelou
Oh my new found pet friend. I too Lost my Teddy just last week on 11/14/07. He was not even 4 months yet. He was a little Morkie but the only one of 5 that was 2 pounds and ears that stood up like your Teddy. My heart goes out to you. I am so happy to find this site and you as well. We are not alone, look at all the wonderful family we have here. I know our Teddy's are playing in heaven and giving us puppy kisses while we sleep and dream of them.

You have my deepest sympathies on the loss of your precious boy.
Nov 19, 2007 FRITZY
Well, today was a day that everyone reading this, teary eyed, and smiling at the pictures of your precious Teddy thinking how lucky you were to have him. God bless you for taking good care of him, and loving him. He knows you did and is watching over you daily. Dogs are so wonderful and we are just lucky to have them in our lives. Teddy is playing, chewing anything he wants, and I bet he has so many bones to choose from....and does not get sick from overeating!!! He is in a great place. I am sorry for your loss. God bless you.

Nov 19, 2007 tamijohansen
I am so sorry for your loss! But just looking into his eyes it is obvious that this sweet little angel is in heaven where he belongs. He will be there playing and having the time of his life with the other puppies, patiently awaiting your arrival. Such a sweetheart! God bless your broken heart.
Nov 19, 2007 postiemayer
I too am sitting here crying, for your loss, and mine since I just lost my 14 year old baby just 3 weeks ago, another terrier. They get into our hearts don't they, even at that young an age? I can just imagine our babies at the Rainbow Bridge doing downward doggie and saying come on, let's play. I am so sorry for your loss and wish you peace. Teddy looked like a real charmer.
Nov 19, 2007 LucyB
I want to add my heart felt condolences to your loss. It's hard to think why these things happen, but I know also he's at the rainbow bridge and will live on in spirit forever. Bless the time you did share his life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was an absolutely adorable boy, and I know how hard it is to lose a family member. I lost my beloved border collie in April, and I wasn't sure at first if I wanted to go on without him.

My heart breaks for you...On the advice of MY Dr. - get another baby soon. I lost one a few years ago and everyone was telling me I should wait the "proper grieving time" to get another dog - the Doc actually wrote a Rx for me to get another pup as I was going into depression - you know, I still miss my other baby something fierce, but there's nothing quite like puppy breath to make your heart smile! God Bless

Teddy- what a noble, handsome looking puppy! I can hear his gruff! Aren't we lucky to have a link to the past through our memories & photos? I look at my Azaeus everyday & he finds me in my dreams... nothing is ever lost in the eyes of the Cosmic All!

This absolutely broke my heart when I read it! I'm so sorry for your loss. When our beagle mix girls, Betty & Veronica, were 6 months old we lost Veronica in a tragic accident. I grieved as much for her as I had when we lost dogs we'd had for years. They're all waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge, including your Teddy.

Thanks for sharing him with us!

I sit here with my three year old puppy, Kali, in my lap, with tears streaming down my face just trying to imagine our heartbreak if we had lost her at 7 months. Our love and sympathy goes out to you.

My heart weeps. Teddy and the Poconos were a perfect match. The Mrs. and I have lost many 'Pards' in our many years. This poem always helped me. Sorry for the length.

"Beau"
by Jimmy Stewart

He never came to me when I would call
Unless I had a tennis ball,
Or he felt like it,
But mostly he didn't come at all.
When he was young
He never learned to heel
Or sit or stay,
He did things his way.

Discipline was not his bag
But when you were with him things sure didn't drag.
He'd dig up a rosebush just to spite me,
And when I'd grab him, he'd turn and bite me.

He bit lots of folks from day to day,
The delivery boy was his favorite prey.
The gas man wouldn't read our meter,
He said we owned a real man-eater.

He set the house on fire
But the story's long to tell.
Suffice it to say that he survived
And the house survived as well.

On the evening walks, and Gloria took him,
He was always first out the door.
The Old One and I brought up the rear
Because our bones were sore.

He would charge up the street with Mom hanging on,
What a beautiful pair they were!
And if it was still light and the tourists were out,
They created a bit of a stir.

But every once in a while, he would stop in his tracks
And with a frown on his face look around.
It was just to make sure that the Old One was there
And would follow him where he was bound.

We are early-to-bedders at our house--
I guess I'm the first to retire.
And as I'd leave the room he'd look at me
And get up from his place by the fire.

He knew where the tennis balls were upstairs,
And I'd give him one for a while.
He would push it under the bed with his nose
And I'd fish it out with a smile.

And before very long
He'd tire of the ball
And be asleep in his corner
In no time at all.

And there were nights when I'd feel him
Climb upon our bed
And lie between us,
And I'd pat his head.

And there were nights when I'd feel this stare
And I'd wake up and he'd be sitting there
And I reach out my hand and stroke his hair.
And sometimes I'd feel him sigh
and I think I know the reason why.

He would wake up at night
And he would have this fear
Of the dark, of life, of lots of things,
And he'd be glad to have me near.

And now he's dead.
And there are nights when I think I feel him
Climb upon our bed and lie between us,
And I pat his head.

And there are nights when I think
I feel that stare
And I reach out my hand to stroke his hair,
But he's not there.

Oh, how I wish that wasn't so,
I'll always love a dog named Beau.

Aww Teddy was an adorable boy. I'm sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how hard it must have been to lose your baby so soon:( He looks like he was quite a doll. So, he decided he wanted pricked ears huh? My puppy is working on flyaway ears at the moment:)

Many blessings to you and this very special pup. My deepest sympathies go to you and your family. May you have a joyous reunion at the Rainbow Bridge. Best wishes.

It's a cold and damp and gloomy morning here in Delaware, and I sit here with tears streaming down my face, wondering what I can say that hasn't already been said by all the other kind people before me. There is nothing - they have said it all and then some! I too have had precious babies go on to Rainbow Bridge and I know that my two little ones that share my life now will leave to run and play there someday too and leave me behind. But I am also comforted in knowing that one day we will all be reunited.
Teddy IS (not was) a beautiful boy, and while he misses you and waits for you I know he's having fun and passing the time with all his new friends.
God bless you have have peace in your heart as does Teddy.

I knew/know teddy and his family very closely, his loss was indeed a tragedy of his loss. He was the cutest pup ive ever seen. I remember when he use to slobber all over my face and attack me with love. We all loved him very much and i will miss him always. His memory with us is not at all dead and will live on forever in our hearts. He made an impact on many with his beutiful eyes and playful character. We miss you teddy!

To Teddy's dad: Thanks for sharing pictures of Teddy with us. What a beautiful puppy. I have lost several dogs, but never a puppy. Each dog I have had the pleasure of having touched my heart in a different way that will always be remembered no matter how long they are gone.

i'm so pleased that lovely Teddy had your love on this earth, such a dear sweet puppy, I know he will be waiting for you, and your family will be reunited at the Rainbow Bridge. Thannk you for sharing his lovely photos.
Sending you and Teddy lots of love. I'm sure my darling setter, Romeo, will be looking after him until you meet again. He was a big gentle giant and I miss him every hour of every day.
i'm very lucky to have my Rudi, who cheers his mummy up and gives lots of hugs and kisses. I know I have been blessed to have such wonderful dogs in my life.

I can only offer my condolences like the many before me here and the many that will follow me. I too lost one of my baby's at less than 3 yrs. It breaks my heart that he wasn't able to live a 'long' life but I know that his life with me and his dad was "full" one--just like Teddy's. He'll ALWAYS live in your hearts and I hope you find another dog to bring you joy--I bet Teddy would insist on it. 11 biscuits!
Nov 19, 2007 cariescarebear
11 Biscuts in loving memory of Teddy. Even though he was only able to touch your life for a short while, I feel it's always better to have loved and lost than not at all. It's the hurt that makes us stronger and teaches us how love actually feels.

I'm terribly sorry about your loss. It breaks my heart. Teddy was a sweetie I can tell for sure! 11 biscuits for this adorable baby!

Hi All. I'm Teddy's dad. I can't begin to express my gratitude for all the kind words. You've all brought some new tears to me this morning. Our hearts are swelling today from your feeling comments. Please accept my sincerest hope that all those who have also lost pups can find peace in the sweet pup memories that are left behind in all our hearts. Give your pups an extra hug today. And maybe an extra biscuit too. Thanks again.

Here I sit at work on a Monday and I have tears streaming down my face. My wife and I ahve just lost our companion of 16 years and the Rainbow Bridge poem just made me loose it once again. My deepest and heartfelt condolences to your family for this devastating loss. 7 months is just too young but some flames burn hot and fast. He looks like he was a real terror full of unbounded mischief and mayhem (My favorite kind) I can only say that we went to our local rescue shelter the day after we let our companion go and rescued not 1 but 2 11 week old brothers and our life, well lets just say it's been interesting. 5 million biscuits to Teddy (he needs the energy) and 5 millions condolences to you all - RIP Teddy go with God.

Some things are just too good to be in this world and Teddy was one. I'm so sorry that Teddy had to go so soon and break your hearts, and all ours too. But I know he must in heaven romping as a puppy having the time of his life. How I wish I could give him and you a big hug. I hope you'll think about maybe adopting another little furry fellow to get some of the love you've got in your heart. These little critters complete us and think Teddy would be pleased to know you gave a home to another special four legged friend. I hope sharing your loss easing your sorrow.

I am so sorry that you lost Teddy. He is so cute and I'm sure your arms ache to pet him again. I am trying not to cry while I am at work. I dread the day I have to say goodbye to my beloved friends. Perhaps you can give your love to another less fortunate puppy. He is beautiful and I'm sure he is running around in puppy heaven looking down on you. My heart goes out to you.

Please allow me to also express my sorrow for your devastating loss. "We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Yet, we would live no other way."

I think the loss of your little Teddy has brought back memories of all the lost pets we have all been lucky to know and love...

Goodbye my little Holly Pol
Heavens open up the door
With Sunny Days and Shady Trees
and where you can see once more....

(This was an ode to a great pet who went blind but lived to a great age)

May you find yourself another special little puppy like your Teddy..

I guess "this world was never meant for one as beautiful as" Teddy. God, he's just the sweetest little thing.
Nov 19, 2007 honeypie
That is so sad. I'm sure you miss him terribly. He was a beautiful little pup. I lost my 15-yr old collie mix Biscuit last year and we still miss him all the time. This poem, that I did not write, was what I sent to friends replacing by using Biskies name and details. It is so true. May God heal your aching hearts.....

Losing Jake
There's a hole in my heart where a dog used to be.
He's nuzzled my soul and is now part of me.
His pain is his life and I know what to do.
But when I release him, I'm losing me, too.

The puppy I cradled three short years ago
is a ninety pound bundle of love and I know
that he'd lick away all of my tears if he could.
It's his sense of duty to make me feel good.

It's my obligation to do what is best.
The love of his "master" is put to the test.
It's a wrenching and sorrowful way that we part;
it doesn't hurt less when the head rules the heart.

There's a hole in my heart where my Jake has passed through.
When we say goodbye part of me will go too.

I know the loss of a dear friend can never be forgotten. I had a little Shih Tzu Ginger who I had to have put to sleep because old age had taken away her quality of life. Before she died I brought my mother (who passed away from lung cancer in 1996) a lhasa aspso name Katie. Katie went into congestive heart failure and died on April 4, 2003. On April 12, 2003 I became the proud parent of Molly a JRT. I don't recommend people do what I did. I didn't replace Katie with Molly, but I need something to fill that void. Katie was my last real tangable thing to my mother. Molly is all mine, and a true Mommy's girl. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I've never lost a puppy, and wouldn't know how to cope with that lost. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure Teddy is having a ball with all his new friends in heaven. Thank you so much for sharing your story with me.

I am so very sorry for your loss. This picture realy jumped out at me, Teddy looks like he is laughing at something only he knows the secret to. I, like many others today, would like to share a poem I know, maybe it will help. It has helped me too many times to count. I lost a puppy once myself. His name was Tarzan. A German Shepherd pup that went to Rainbow Bridge at the age of 16 weeks. I still think of hin often and wonder why or who called him so soon. Just like all the nice people before me have said Teddy is having a blast at the "Bridge" and all my dogs and everyone else's are playing with him . He is not alone. Teddy is not only puppy of the day, he is puppy of the year! You and he will be in my thoughts for a while. Now I must go and cuddle with my doggy kids so that I can stop crying. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss.

I AM NOT THERE

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

omg... what a cutie! It brings tears to my eyes that you lost this little one! I rescued an elderly dog 3 1/2 years ago and lost her almost 1 year to the day that I got her. It is very hard sometimes for people to understand losing a pet (especially when you haven't had them for a long time). They do not always understand what a true friend and companion they are, young or old. Just know that there are many others that do understand and will keep you in their thoughts and prayers, just as I will. One positive that should always remain is that he got to be yours even if for just a short time!! Again, I am so sorry for your loss!

I am so sincerily sorry for your loss. Teddy looks so much like an ANGEL FROM HEAVEN. I had a Jack russel named buddy who was only 4 months when he was taken from me. I hope he is running free and happy with his tongue hangin out in HEAVEN. Sorry, I will be thinking about you!

What happened to your sweet baby boy that caused you to lose him so early in his life? I have two PRTs and cannot imagine life without them. My boy is 9 and my girl is 6. I am so sorry for the loss of Teddy--- he looks like a sweetheart!

How heart renching it is to lose a pet. Most people don't understand why pet owners become so close to their extended family member. Every day I wonder if my oldest bird is going to die, if my little dog will stay healthy and safe
when I have to leave for treatments and only my husband or his friend take care of my animals. I cry when one of my fish die. I have 6 budgies and one is 17 believe or not. They fly in and out as much as they want and get a very healthy diet and their cage is clean. Someone gave us a lovebird to care for and they never came back.
He is at least 10 years old and was always caged and the cage was so dirty it had bugs in it. We nursed the uncared for bird and showed him what it's like to fly and to have people to take proper care.
It is heart braking and scary to lose a pet no matter how long or short of time you had him.

It is raining in Paris too. And like everybody else, I am trying to write with tears all over my face. In the month of May, I lost my dog, Misia, so Teddy has one more friend in heaven. I am so very sorry for you. My Jack Russel, Sam, is sitting on my lap, watching me cry and he is very sad for you too.

What a sweet pup... JRTs are hyper as can be, but lovable. I can't imagine losing my "fur baby" Charlie after only seven months... my heart broke when I read the first line of your description. No pup will replace your little buddy, but I hope you find someone who you'll love just as much.

And "Joe Fitz" that's such a neat poem you submitted.

In memory of Teddy:

"When the dog was created, it licked the hand of God and God stroked its head, saying, "What do you want, dog?" It replied, "My Lord, I want to stay with you, in heaven, on a mat in front of the gate." ~Marie Noel"

How happy Teddy must be! He'll be waiting!

Tears in my eyes, I am so sorry for your loss. What a precious baby boy! I can't even imagine what that must feel like. You and Teddy are in my prayers.
That day, if you had looked
beneath the Sago palm planted
behind the red brick wall
below our bedroom window,
you would have found him,
a resting crescent, curled
in a little burrow he dug
for just one purpose.
And in the way his long jaw
pressed against his paws
you might have sensed a sigh,
and seen in his half-closed eyes
the release of a yearlong suffer
towards dying. You might
have known the generosity
of his body curled in perfect circle
like a prayer, and recognized
a gesture in the half-wake
of his eyes, a willingness to die
honestly, out in our garden?s winter,
open to an unknown he could never fear
and you could never understand.
And what would you have done
then, would you have bowed down
to study it closely, to absorb
the grubby wisdom of wanting
nothing more than an ending
of earth and warmth, some hollow
of black muck in which to burrow ?
or simply scooped the skinny body,
shaken the dirt from his heavy fur,
and taken him away to meet the flame
and urn, his thick snout stiffening
in the cradle of your arm?

*HUGS* AND *KISSES* IN PUPPY HEAVEN!

My heart aches for your loss. Teddy looks like he is looking over his shoulder at you..........................I am sure he is now. No dog could ever have been loved so much by such a beautiful family. He probably received more love in the short months with you than some dogs receive in a long lifetime. Hold on to your memories and know that your lives are richer because you had him. Judi

For Teddy's family, a sweet poem sent to me by my sister when we lost our special pet:

I explained to St. Peter
I?d rather stay here
Outside the big pearly gate.
I won?t be a nuisance,
I won?t even bark,
I?ll be very patient and wait.
I?ll be here, chewing on a celestial bone,
No matter how long you may be.
I?d miss you so much, if I went in alone,
It wouldn?t be heaven for me.

Wow. Reading this was a reality shock.
First & foremost, I would like to add my most sincere & heartfelt sympathy on your immense loss. Like so many others who post here, I also write this with my eyes brimming, & my throat thick, as I try to imagine how awful you must feel. I have lost several pets, it is inevitable that those of us who share our lives with our non-human kids will experience it at some time. Most of mine have been very old & infirm, so even though the pain was very real, there was some consolation to me that they had lived a good, long life, & that they were now free of pain & suffering. But...losing a puppy?? I can't begin to estimate the pain of your grief.
Some of the others have posted some wonderful poems. I am not clever enough to be able to write anything original...but I hope that this timeless source from my tradition may be of some small comfort to you:
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for His name's sake. Lo, though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for Thou art with me; with rod & staff You comfort me. Thou hast set a table before me in the presence of my enemies: Thou hast anointed my head with oil, my cup overfloweth. Surely goodness & mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, & I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
And remember---love knows not of time & space...it simply endures.

My sympathies to you on the loss of such a darling puppy. You obviously loved him very much and made him a happy little guy... God will send you another baby to love... it helps but you never forget the pets that have gone over the Rainbow Bridge.

I don't even know were to begin. The sorrow in my heart for your family . I am so sorry for your loss. I sit here among my tears. I lost my dog Scorpio back in May. It was and will always be the day I lost a peace of my life. The sadness is still overwelming. I have no words of wisdom nor any advice that can make the pain in your lives subside. My days still feel incompleate. I often rush home to the realization that he is not physically waiting for me. I so wish to give him kisses and a belly rub. I look for him all the time, in every bright star in every passing sunset. My only comfort is that I was chosen to care for one of Gods little angels. I loved my angel with all my heart. I feel that they are always at the foot of our beds. May you and your family find comfort during this time of sorrow . Thank you for sharing Teddy's life. He was blessed, loved, silly and fun. He filled your home with laughter and joy. Those are the memories to cherish. By sharing and celebrating Teddy's life you have allowed all of us who love animals and this web site a forum to unite and appreciate all of the angel's that we call pets.

Wow, can you feel the love in the room this morning?!?!?! All these wonderful people who have reached out tearful and sympathetic, sending out love and sharing their painful stories. I love this forum!:) What a sweet little boy Teddy was, I am so sorry you lost him so young. I lost my darling Marble, a little boston terrier of just 6 months this past May, and my heart is still shattered over her, so I know how you feel. It feels like an injustice to have been with them for such a short time. But like so many people here today have said before me, he's in a better place and is watching over you:) Much love to you and yours, and times will get easier, I promise:)

I visit the Daily Puppy to lift my spirits so yesterday when I read of Teddy's short time with his family I was, like others, moved to tears but reading all the posts really affected me.The outpouring of love and sympathy for Ted and his family from people from all over the world was heart lifting and in this world where we are constantly bombarded with news of mans' inhumanity to man and beast it's great to be reminded of all the good out there.
To Teddy's loved ones - I hope that you will soon be able to remember Teddy with smiles at his antics and not tears at your loss. God Bless.
And a big thankyou for all the Daily Puppy posters for lifting my spirits!

I am so sorry about your sweet baby boy. He looks like such a spunky little muffin, and I am sorry you only got to enjoy his antics for a few short months.

I love your Teddy. I too lost a Teddy who was a Border Collie and my best friend when I was a young teen on our farm. Teddy followed me every where and was run over when he was about five years. I still feel sad just to see the name "Teddy" and I have a picture of Teddy and me in front of me now. Putting your Teddy on the Daily Puppy was a wonderful idea. My best wishes to you and I'm so glad Teddy had doggy friends to play with in his short but wonderful life. He makes a terrific Daily Puppy. And you can copy the URL and always refer back to these pictures and comments.

Nov 20, 2007 jrstar
I do not write to forums but this was an ache too intense not to reach out to you. I was just checking pictures from yesterday and read your comments. The words used in past tense made my stomach twist. I just kept saying no, please no, until I reached the end, and the worst was there. Maybe all the tears cried by myself and others will wash over you with love and warmth and reach to heaven itself where Teddy will use them to splash and play in, turning something of deep sorrow into something of joyful delight.
Till you all meet again.

what a cute sweetie...i feel your pain in losing your dog...my dog, gordon, just died last week of cancer. he was young, and being the third dog i have lost, it scarred me deeply. you have my deepest sympathy and i hope that you will be able to find a dog just as wonderful as teddy...but i know no dog will ever take his place.

My sympathy to you and your family--they really do live in our hearts forever. I lost my little friend, Norman, a boston terrier after 13 years, and that was 10 months ago, I still cry and expect to find him waiting to greet me. We are so habitual and those little furry friends are so faithful. I'm thinking about getting a new puppy and thought your little fellow was so cute, I clicked on his pictures and saw you lost him too. Now I sit here crying with you-- if they only knew how much they get in our hearts, only to break them, but they are worth it and we keep doing it again, and again. . .

To stop my tears I had to stop reading the condolences and sad poems. Teddy had people who loved and spoiled him for the short time he was here. Use this Daily Puppy as a great Memorial to the beautiful little guy! As I was reading your story I could tell this was not a happy beginning as you wrote in past tense. With time you will find another companion to bring new joy back in your life. God Bless you and yours.

It's taken me a week to have the strength to look at these pictures again. I cannot tell you how identical Teddy was to my Jack Russell that I lost 2 months ago - especially with his ears standing up. He was 15 and a half years old and had a long, happy life. But I still cry for him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for your loss! Teddy was an absolute and still is an absolute charmer and cutie! He looked to be so fully of life. I'm really sorry and my heart aches for you.
