Alera is a 11 week old Finnish Lapphund puppy. Her registered name is ever so wild but the only wild thing about her is she likes to bark. She enjoys playing with my other two dogs and chewing on everything she finds. She is quite smart when it is to her benefit to be so.
Shelby is a two and a half year old border collie mix (or so we were told). She was adopted as a rescue. She loves to take walks around the neighborhood, ride in the car, get belly rubs and butt scratches and eat anything and everything, but thats just during the day. At night she likes to cuddle up and relax. She can be a handful but we love her very much!
Hunter came home from the shelter and into my life when he was a 4 month old, 15lb fluff ball. Almost a year later, we've learned together that he loves all dogs great and small, chasing butterflies, finding that one, hidden mud puddle, making things squeak, and ruling over the neighborhood from his balcony perch. I never knew I could adopt such a great nap and hiking companion who always makes sure to keep me on my toes. He's the love of my life, although luckily he hasn't figured out that I'd really let him get away with anything he wants.
Kiku is the Japanese word for chrysanthemum. We rescued her when she was just under three months old. She had been pulled from a high-kill shelter in SoCal by a small local rescue. She was quiet but attentive, and very comfortable around strange people and dogs when we met her. We knew she would be perfect--even though we still have no idea which breeds she really is... they suggested a spaniel mix, but as she matures, her compact size, prey drive and nimble feet suggest that she's some kind of terrier. Current hobbies include running, cuddles, tug-of-war, and chewing everything she can ...
