Jasper began life a starving, wormy, matted and tick-ridden puppy. He was captured and he and his litter were put in the shelter. His time was almost up when I got an email giving a list of puppies to be euthanized the next day. Needless to say, I hauled butt down there and took he and his brother home. Best decision of my life-he is the smartest, sweetest, and most beautiful pup I've ever had.
This is Piper. She is a rescue, probably a mix of Border Collie or Heeler/Pointer and JR Terrier. Whatever she is, she is super sweet and willing, but high energy and absolutely gonzo outside, where all her various instincts come into play (she herds, points and rats). It's a joy to see her doing helicopters and high speed racing on the grass, a far cry from the terrified, groveling stray we rescued from the high dessert in Nevada. She'd never walked on grass, seen water, heard a duck quack or a frog croak or even been for a walk with cars driving by. Her favorite activities are ...
Bailey was rescued from a pound, when he was 4 months old, just before he was to be put down. He was a very timid dog who must have been traumatized at a very young age. Today he is a totally different dog! Bailey is now two years old and he is very active and loves life! He just finished agility classes which he excelled at and he is also now starting in flyball and picking that up very quickly. Bailey also loves to go for hikes, mountain bike rides, and swimming.
