How to Make a Visor Bandanna for a Dog

Hot day? Want some sun protection for your dog? If you're good at origami, you'll be good at making this dog visor bandanna. You're simply folding the bandanna into a series of triangles and diamonds until is makes a secure visor to shade your dog's eyes.

Step 1

Lay out the bandanna flat. Fold it diagonally in half. It should look like a triangle.

Step 2

Grab the bottom of the triangle at the fold, and roll up toward the top, leaving about 2 inches of triangle tip for an average-sized visor.

Step 3

Keeping a hand on the rolled portion to keep it tight, use your other hand to fold back the top layer of the triangle tip back across the rolled portion. It should look like a diamond. Take both tips of the diamond and fold them in toward each other until they meet. Press to flatten.

Step 4

Take the new flat edge of your triangle and fold it back over the other flat edge of your triangle. It should make a square front. Press to flatten them together. Take the long bottom of your bandanna (that you've been holding to keep tight) and roll it slightly forward over the square you've created to seal your homemade visor.

Step 5

Try the bandanna on your dog, with the square visor area snugly underneath the rolled part of the bandanna. Tie under the chin.
