Mint Dog Bone Recipe

By Susan Landis-Steward

Let's face it--dogs have, well, dog breath. A homemade dog biscuit with mint and parsley will help freshen their breath while also giving them a tasty treat. Mint and parsley are natural breath fresheners. The mint is also helpful for stomach pain and nausea. Parsley has an additional bonus for older dogs because it helps with arthritis. The crunchiness of these bones will help fight tartar and plaque on your dog's teeth as well.

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

Mix oil and water in large bowl.

Step 3

Add flour and other dry ingredients. Mix well until the dough forms a ball and is thoroughly mixed.

Step 4

Roll the dough out to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Cut with cookie cutters or just cut into strips of a size appropriate for your dog.

Step 5

Bake for about 35 minutes or until biscuits are set and lightly brown. Turn off heat and let biscuits harden and dry in the cooling oven.

Step 6

Store in airtight container or refrigerate.

I found this one that sounds just like the one above at ehow, but with all the ingredients. Hope you're still checking this entry out, so that you'll find this. :) Mint Dog Bone Ingredients â€&# 162;Unfortunately, dogs often have somewhat strong breath, but you can freshen it with a minty dog bone. The process is quite simple and adding mint and parsley to the recipe will help freshen their breath. You will need a tablespoon of vegetable oil, a cup of water, 2 1/2 cups of dry oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of fresh mint, one-third cup of diced parsley, and one-quarter teaspoon of finely chopped garlic. Mint Dog Bone Assembly • ;Mix the wet ingredients together first, and then slowly fold in the dry ingredients until the mixture is a smooth consistency. Roll the dough out and cut in to any shapes you choose, although a bone is typical. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and bake until hard, about 35 minutes.
